It's terrifying when kind people lose their compassion.

Tears had dried up and efforts were in vain, General Casagon had locked up Lilith inside their mansion so as to prevent her from going to Gaerin yet fate cannot be changed. While she was caged and crying piteously, her parents were in danger, moreover Prince Vzeus according to the information was hanged on the city gates so the more time she delayed, the more he was close to death.

Red-eyed vultures were making rounds in the ominous, grey sky waiting to scavenge the meat of a half-dead prey, that signified the moment Lilith had her mind consolidated and became ready to part from the lands of Eastern deserts that was her home for the past ten years in the darkness of the night.

Sometimes what lacks in the person was perhaps will and not capability, the woman who could sleathly trespass the most guarded mansion of the country and escape without even a soul knowing had no knowledge of her own courage and power that she held in her veins, the freezing deserts full of venomous snakes and deadly scorpions seemed to be no match for her valor as she rode the horse throughout the borders, indifferent of the threat of dacoits and barbarians.

Following the example of her father for so many years, the woman was a shadow of Prince Vzeus and not the true Lilith that she was meant to be in the future. A dragon was hiding in the silk dressing of a lamb yet the one recognizing her did not sit still, Saintess Helixis was waiting for her and the General of Eastern deserts that was soon going to chase his sister even to the door of heavens and hell.

On one hand, where Lilith's journey to the depths of the underworld has begun, Princess Lyra was laying sick, locked up in her paternal home by her father who refused to let her out of the house even after hearing that her husband was insulted and was now on the doors of death.

Count Izar had one daughter and five sons, his beloved wife gave birth to their last child Lyra before passing away from severe tuberculosis that even he could not kiss her farewell the last time.

Learning from his painfully woven life which always demanded attention, that he was unable to devote all his time to his wife who left him in the middle of life so when it came to Princess Lyra her father had chosen the man who loved her truly and would not repeat his mistakes.

Prince Vzeus had been an ideal match for the beloved daughter, gentle and thoughtful and being very protective of her, he never had any hopes for the throne and later completely gave up the idea since it ensured the safety of both his child and wife. Even when they were not the wealthiest Princess Lyra was loved, there were no concubines in the eleventh prince's manor despite him being called the most handsome and honorable man of Gaerin.

Earlier there were many who wished to see him succeed the throne and had approached him for extending their clan's support yet were politely declined. 

Count Izar looked indifferent to his sick daughter yet he was trying his best to sustain the officials and do all in his effort to ensure that Prince Vzeus lives. If it was not for the direct order of King Kyzm, he might have succeeded yet even then he and his three sons that were court officials and two of them who were commanding officers of an army unit did not lose all hope.

It was Prince Vzeus that had five years ago dragged a severely crying Princess Lyra to their manor and has left her here saying that she was the one he treasured and his life would be meaningless if something happened to either of his wife and daughter.

It had been more than ten years since Count Izar saw his granddaughter but for now, he was content knowing that she was safe.

It was the first morning after Lilith's departure and for General Casagon who stayed awake, not even an ounce of sleep in his eyes was apprehensive of how the future shall unfold. He left his crying sister alone for an entire day and according to the maids, the food that they prepared for her was laying at its original place untouched.

His heart was in turmoil with anguish wrapping him up in its poisonous veins, he could feel a premonition of something drastic happening, call it an intuition of a warrior that had fought battles since he was a child, he could feel the winds whispering a lethal melody in his ears.

When the general got up in hurry thinking something bizarre, the pot of white dust of the northwestern regime that was considered sacred since it was a blessed artifact from the saintess herself was knocked down on the ground making his heartbeat erratically.

Was it an indication that the Saintess wished to see him, if it was so then he would proceed with Lilith to the temple.

The ones that see death and life every single day do not believe in the supernatural but the sleeping Emperor of the Eastern Deserts, Emperor Zerzerus was evidence enough that certain things are the will of the universe. 

Her highness Saintess Helixes had said once 'accompanied by the sun of dragons, the regime of the supreme Chimera would rise when the sun is at its peak'.

Even though he did not understand the person who was going to be the symbolic of the great Dragon yet he was astonished when the Saintess mentioned the mythical chimera.....when he himself was a young boy of twelve seasons, the same age as Emperor Zerzerus, being best of the friends the emperor has once told him that he dreamt of Chimeras in his dreams every day.

This 'dragon'.........who was it?
