Prerna Sharma has completed her medical degree from a premium medical college and it has been 4 months since she has joined the sterling hospital as 1st year PG in obstetrics and gynecology along with her best friend Nivedita. They have been friends since the first day of medical college . They were partners in dissection and have cut open their first cadaver together- it's the sort of thing which binds doctors together for the rest of their life .

She and Nivedita have been working under Dr Anurag Basu , who is fortunately or unfortunately Nivedita's brother.

Dr Anurag Basu is best known for his work and his humble nature and good looks- he stood at six feet ,soft medium length hair, his chocolate brown eyes and sharp jawline . Most of the girls behave like he is some greek god .

He wasn't arrogant or a jerk . Had he been one,he would have been sitting pretty in a corner office of this hospital which his father owned with few doctors working under him. But he didn't choose to be that instead he worked hard and proved his worth .

The curtains have been wide open for quite sometime now letting the sharp ray of sunlight in through the window,on the pretty face of prerna,who was sleeping in her bed after another hectic day. Her sleep was getting disturbed through the sharp sunlight ,it was her mother's doing to wake her up like every morning soon her alarm clock rang . She groaned and opened her eyes slowly and saw the time 7:00 . She closed her eyes thinking she would wake up in 10 minutes. After 10 mins of extra sleep she woke up with the call of her mother.

She got up, brushed her teeth and went to the washroom to freshen up. Till then her mother made her regular breakfast which was coffee and Paratha.

She went downstairs and wished her mother sat in the dining room and saw her father still sleeping from there and pouted . She hurriedly had her breakfast and went upstairs to get Ready for work . She wore her navy blue scrubs in which her name was written Dr Prerna Sharma. She took her books, went downstairs and checked her bag for essentials. Till then her mother had packed her lunch and water bottle and put it in her bag.

Soon her brother Siddharth came downstairs, took car keys and said "let's go". He was the one who drop her to hospital daily before going to his routine morning walk.

Prerna bid her brother and went to the OT of obs and gynec department where Nivedita was already waiting in the doctor's room along with their other colleagues Vishal. Soon three of them went to OT where Dr Anurag guides all the PG's. And today was Prerna's turn to assist Dr Basu . She was pretty nervous hoping for things to go well .

It was a case of a 30 yr old woman and she had to perform a Cesarean section on her .

All of them wished dr basu good morning and started preparing for surgery.

Anurag asked prerna "are you ready prerna"

She nervously replied "yes Dr Basu"

Anurag had clearly told them not to call him sir or bhai . So all of them choose to call him Dr Anurag or Dr Basu.

After 45 min with the guide of Anurag ,prerna handed the baby girl to a nurse for suction and incubation and then completed the suture.

It was the most beautiful feeling for her to hold the child ,she felt like she had the whole world in her hands. Even after N number of C sections and episiotomy she still feels the same.

Anurag smiled proudly and said "good job Prerna , I guess you can do the procedure alone next time and won't need me for guidance"

Perna smiled back and said " Thank you Dr Basu but I still don't feel confident about it and first year pg's are not allowed to do any procedure without supervision."

Anurag was impressed by Prerna on the first day only .He nodded at her and they went to another patient in which Vishal was doing the procedure.

After a series of surgical procedures, Prerna went to the cafeteria where Nivedita and Anupam were waiting for her.

Nivedita asked Prerna "where were you? We have been waiting for you for 20 minutes. You are always late , anyways let's eat our lunch I am really hungry"

Prerna said " why do you always wait for me? You know that I take time to wash my hands and face before eating. And you should thank me for coming late,I give you both some private time for your romance"

Prerna smirked seeing both the love birds blushing.

They all started eating their lunch hungrily.

After lunch Anupam said " today I had a case of polycystic kidney of a newborn. I was on the verge of crying again. I can't see the baby suffering '

Prerna said " you should get used to anupam because in pediatrics you see the babies cry or have disease daily. I know it's difficult and that was the reason I didn't took pediatrics

Nivi said "exactly I also can't see them cry"

Anupam said "yes I am trying not to get emotional every time but fails miserably I must say you guys are very lucky to choose obs gynec and it's good to see child birth "

Nivi and I said together" it's the best feeling in the world"

Nivi asked Prerna and Anupam "Are you guys coming to the party tonight "

Prerna said " no I am not in mood of coming I want to be at my bed tonight and want to sleep hard because tomorrow is best day of week sunday and I will sleep till noon"

Anupam smirked and said " I know why you are saying no, because of Anurag right"

Nivedita glared prerna said " you are coming to birthday party of Shiv otherwise meenu will eat you alive and I won't save you from that"

Shiv is the child of Prerna's cousin meenu ,who married her love Angad who was fortunately Anurag's best friend.

Prerna said "ok I am coming it's not like I have any option"

Nivedita sternly said "we are having a night stay tonight at my home. Mom and dad are Missing you so much ,we will enjoy a lot and I have already taken permission from aunty. Bhai don't have any problem he knows you are my best friend"

Prerna said "ok I will be stay at your place today for uncle aunty ,I see you daily "

Why God why did you put me in this awkward position. I always feel awkward around Dr Basu because of that day . I will try not to come on his way but that's almost impossible.
