I spent the next couple hours cooking dinner. Every half hour or so someone would come in and try to steal samples but I didn't mind, I loved how excited they were.
Colby helped me for a little while before I kicked him out because he wasn't helping and was just eating. Sam however was really interested in learning how to cook so he was really helpful.
"Okay, can you add the noodles to the cheese sauce?" I asked him as he nodded. "Yeah, I think this is a dangerous game you're playing though Vi." He said as I scrunched my brow. "What do you mean?" I asked as he chuckled. "We're always gonna want your food." He said as I grinned.
"Well lucky for you, I love cooking and will be willing to do it until I have to work for 90 hours a week." I said as he chuckled. "You're not gonna work 90 hours a week, V. We're gonna help you out. Maybe you can start a YouTube channel eventually." He said as I shook my head.
"Please, your fans actually hate my guts." I said with a sigh as I drizzled olive oil over the veggies so I could toast them.
"They don't hate you. Well....actually they only hate you because of what Daisy has been saying. When they see how much we all love you they'll warm up." He said as I chuckled.
"Yeah, until they find out Colby and I are dating." I said as he pursed his lips. "Got me there...we just won't tell them that then." He said with a wink as Kat and Tara came in with three other girls.
"Violet, we wanted to introduce you to the other trap girls!" Kat said as she gestured to the three girls I didn't recognize.
"Hi, I'm Devyn." The one closest to me said as she smiled and waved. She had long brown hair, a petite frame, and a flawless face. Her make up was done to perfection, giving her a glamorous vibe. "Hi, it's nice to meet you." I said quietly and waved.
"I'm Cassie." The girl next to her said as she waved. She had long black hair, but the front two pieces were bleached. Her make up was also done to perfection.
I immediately felt insecure because I wasn't the best at makeup, in fact I almost never wore it. Maybe these girls could actually teach me how to present myself for once. "Nice to meet you." I said with a warm smile as I started to cut the pork.
"I'm Xepher." The last one said as she nodded her head at me. She was the tallest by far and her style was the most unique. She had a ton of rings on her hands and very intricate makeup on. She was highkey really intimidating. "Nice to meet you." I said as she smiled at me.

"So, what are you making, we've never had someone cook for us before." Devyn said as she looked around the kitchen. "Pork loin with cranberry stuffing, we have roasted veggies, mac and cheese, some rolls, and mashed potatoes." I said as a bunch of the guys came walking in.
I recognized some of them but not a couple of them. "Holy SHIT! Colby where did you find this girl?" One of the guys I didn't recognize exclaimed as I blushed.
He was a buff black man with the brightest smile ever, I could tell just from his vibe that he was a good guy. "Jesus, Kevin. You should try introducing yourself to her, maybe she'll tell you." Colby said as he came up and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Sorry, I'm Kevin but people call me sugar k." He said as I blonde next to him shook his head, "nobody calls you sugar k." He said as Kevin rolled his eyes. "Shut up, Reggie." He said as I chuckled.
"It's nice to meet you Kevin, I'm Violet and I'm assuming your name is Reggie." I said and pointed to the blonde next to him. "Yeah, Reggie." He said and nodded at me.
"He's stinky." Tara said then stuck her tongue out at him. "Shut up, shrimp." He said as Tara rolled her eyes. "A short joke...really original." She said as I looked at the last person I didn't recognize.
"I'm Griffin." He said as I smiled and nodded. He looked kinda like Colby, almost as if they could be brothers.
Were they brothers? I knew Colby had a brother but I didn't know is name. "It's nice to meet you." I said and smiled at everyone.
"Alright now seriously Colby. Where did you find her?" Kevin said as Colby laughed, "I didn't find her, she just kinda came into my life." He said as smiled at me. "I won the trip to go ghost hunting with them." I said as Sam helped me set the food up.
"Yeah, you should know that, KEVIN. If you would watch our videos." Sam said as Kevin held his hands up in surrender. "I'm boycotting your channel until you let me go with you for a video." He said as I shook my head, laughing.
"You guys are ruining Christmas." Kat said as Sam came around and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Way to go Kevin, way to ruin Christmas." Reggie said as Tara laughed. "Fuck you Kevin." She said as I shook my head.
"Alright, no fighting. The food is ready." I said and gestured to the food. "Let's eat!" Jake said as I stepped back so I could watch then grab their food.

"How are you feeling?" Colby asked as I leaned against the counter. "Tired, but happy." I said as he leaned over and kissed my cheek.
"Everyone loves you ya know." He said as I grinned and chuckled, "I wouldn't say love, but I think they tolerate me so far." I said as I smiled at him.
We all sat and ate as everyone tried to get to know me a little more. I told them all about my old job and about about my childhood. Everyone was so nice and asked questions that nobody has ever asked before.
I haven't even been here for a day and I already felt so comfortable. The only thing I was struggling with was that I didn't feel good enough to be here. The girls were all so gorgeous and had these amazing personalities.
I knew I was tolerable to be around because I've always had friends but these girls were so personable and they all knew eachother so well.
I was trying to keep my head up because I shouldn't expect to perfectly fit in immediately, that just wasn't realistic.
We spent the night hanging out, listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies. The friend group exchanged some gifts which was really entertaining to watch.
Everyone did eventually go home, which left just Jake, Corey, Sam, Colby, and I.
I started cleaning the kitchen up as the guys played darts in the living room area. "You want some help?" Colby asked as I smiled at him, "If you want to." I said and tossed him a towel so he could dry the dishes for me.
"Did you have fun tonight?" Colby asked as I nodded, "yeah, it was a little overwhelming but fun nonetheless." I said and handed him a bowl for him to dry. "Yeah, they can be a lot to handle sometimes." He said as I grinned. "I like them, they're fun." I said and scrunched my nose at him.
"Are you happy?" He asked as I nodded. "I'm always happy when I'm with you." I said quietly as he grinned at me. "You're corny." He said as I giggled, "I learned from the best." I said then nudged him with my shoulder.
As soon as the kitchen was cleaned up I said goodnight to the guys so I could go to my room.
It felt weird seeing my stuff in a new room. It still didn't feel real that I was here, living across the country with a boy I haven't even known for more than 3 months.
I found myself getting too emotional, as I laid awake staring at the ceiling. I started to question everything as I began to cry.
Was I making the right moves? Or was I just setting myself up for heartbreak? I didn't have a backup plan so this had to be the right move, whether I liked it or not.
After a couple hours of tossing and turning I got up so I could get some water. I wiped the tears off my cheeks as I walked down the hallway, in case anyone was still awake.
I grabbed my glass of water and leaned against the counter as I drank it. When I lowered the glass though I jumped, hearing someone come in.
"V?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Hey." I said quietly as he smiled sympathetically. "Can you not sleep?" He asked as I shook my head. "No...not really." I said and chewed on my lip.
"What's on your mind?" He asked as he grabbed himself a glass of water. "I'm just starting to question everything." I said quietly as he frowned.
"I thought you had fun though?" He questioned as I nodded, "I did, but...I don't know. I just feel like I don't fit in. All of the girls are so beautiful and they have these great personalities and I'm just..vanilla." I said and bit my lip.
"Violet..you're anything but vanilla. You're the most beautiful and unique girl I have ever met and you have an amazing personality..you're a badass." He said then came up and placed his hands on my waist.
"You also have this look in your eye that you get when you're passionate about something. Your eyes literally shine a golden brown. You don't get to see that part of yourself, but I do." He said as he cupped my cheek with his hand.
"You're stunning both inside and out. And I'm gonna prove it to you." He said then lowered his lips to mine, lifting me up so I was sitting on the counter.
"Colby.." I whispered as he pulled away. "Yes?" He asked as I rested my hand on his cheek.
"I want you." I whispered as a smirk formed on his lips.

Petrichor: Act One
Cody is adrift. Emily is alone. Sara is spiraling into darkness. Andrew is out of control. Chris is losing his mind. Grace makes the mistake of being friends with all of them. The friendship these six share will forever shape who they are. In the town of Darkwood, Washington they are forced into the harsh reality of the world catching up to them. When their involvement in their friend's suicide catches up to them, how will they juggle their guilt, issues, and crumbling friendships that fall before them? This is a redux of Petrichor. I was unsatisfied with how the story went. I rushed things and left things to happen off-screen a lot. So I'm rewriting it, this time dividing the acts into their separate books to allow the characters to properly develop. The story will mostly stay the same but I'll fix all the plot holes I found and change some character motivations here or there.
