《Making Up》Chapter Eleven

Will
Freshman Year- Spring Semester
It's the final quarter of our game against one of our most known opponents. They've been the complete talk of this season with us following right behind. However, I plan on ending their popularity today.
My teammates and I are sweating buckets right now, our chest heaving trying to catch our breath. Coach is talking us through this final play to move us up in into the final four. We're so close I can taste it.
I've been so focused on the game that nothing around me has distracted me but once the huddle is over, I do a quick look over into the area I know where Thea and her friends are sitting. It's nice to know that I have some non basketball player friends in the crowd supporting me since none of my family ever graces the game with their presence.
Alana would jump at the first opportunity to come since we're starting to get closer and closer to the finals but since she's still in highschool my parents would never allow her to skip school.
It doesn't help that I'm on the east coast; 3 hours ahead of her time so she's probably ditching soccer practice right now to watch this live. She'll be the first person I call after this game.
I was able to get Thea and her roommates some great tickets so they're only sitting a mere 15 feet away from me. They're all screaming but its hard to hear over the crowd around me. Thea shoots me a huge grin and stands from her seat cupping her mouth in her hands. I can somewhat make out the "You got this Jameson!" Over the other loud chanting.
As both teams get back into place on court, the ball is up the air. Easton gains possession of the ball and we're getting into our positions that we've practiced a ton of times. Quinn is passed the ball but he misses the basket and we're back to being on defense.

Everyone in the arena is completely silent with only a minute and a half left on the clock; the time being eaten up by the constant back and forth between us and our opponents. We're down by two points but if we can make a three pointer and hold the ball for the remaining time, we'll win by a mere one point.
We're back on offense and the guys on the other team are scrambling to get the ball away from us or have us miss this shot they're anticipating. Devon passes me the ball and my palms grow sweaty with nervousness. I take a deep breath in and shoot the ball just as the buzzer is about to go off to notify the end of the game. I didn't realize how quickly time was going by.
Just as I release my breath, the ball goes straight into the hoop and the buzzer goes off signaling the end.
I can't believe it. I just scored our winning point and we're officially apart of the final four. The crowd goes crazy and a bunch of my teammates are yelling in excitement while also smacking my head and back. I would've never thought I would get this far as a freshman but here I am.
I turn around in search of Thea again and run straight to her. Her arms are already out as I grab her around the waist into a bear hug and shake her back and forth. I'm sweaty and probably stink but she doesn't seem to mind.
"Oh my god, you did it Will! Congrats!"
"I'm surprised you knew what was going on just now." I tease and put her down as she smacks my arm
"Shut up, I'm not completely incompetent when it comes to basketball anymore." She says with a roll of her eyes

I flash her a huge smile.
"I know, you're an expert now." I say with a smirk
"Go celebrate with your team, we'll see you later." She says, shooing me away
I hug all her roommates, thanking them all for their congratulations and for coming. After shaking hands with some guys from the other team I throw my arm around Quinn as we walk back to the locker rooms.
"Nice shit man. I can't believe we're actually in the final four as freshmen."
"I know, we actually did it."
I go straight to my locker and facetime Alana. She picks up on the first ring. I can see she's sitting outside somewhere and I can somehow make out the blow of a whistle from the phone despite my loud and happy teammates. Soccer practice. I knew it.
"Ahh you killed it! I wish I was there in person to hug you!" She squeals in excitement and disappointment
My chest warms at her excitement for me. She's been supporting me since she could understand what basketball even is.
"Thanks, and it's okay. You're here in spirit, Sis."
We talk a little more about how she's doing at home and I hangup. Adrenaline is still rushing through me and I'm ready for how our celebration is going to look like later tonight. I'm also looking to work off this adrenaline if you catch my drift. I've been so stressed over this game that I haven't had sex in almost a month.
Things are looking good and I hope I managed to snag the attention of some recruiters. I also hope to hold their attention for the next three years.

Helloo, short chapter I know but I wanted to get a Will Pov in since basketball is so important to him. I'll be posting again very soon.

Death Unto All
Natalie had lived an...okay life. Unrequited love, minimal friends, the works. At least she had a good job–one that she liked, too. All of that went up in literal smoke after she did a favor for the aforementioned person whom she loved. Stopping a maniac hellbent on turning the heroes of the country into his own robot army. Things after that can't be too bad...right? /* This is a story for side character from my other story. It isn't required to read it–at minimum the first volume–but it does help. Since I'm much further along on my other story than this one, it will not have a set upload schedule. I will just upload when I can. I have zero idea how long that will be. Will (Eventually) contain yuri. */
