《The Owl House: Wolfwalkers on the Boiling Isles》Part 8: Keeping it A Secret

The two wolves arrived at a cliff, right where the giant pink tree lies. Where it shows a view of Bonesburough. "Wow, look at the view from here." Said Luz. "Yea. There's a ton of people down there." Katya mention. "Hey, my friends are down there. Plus, I'm one of them as well." "Meanwhile, your body is fast asleep. Snoring away." Katya said, and makes loud snoring noises. Causing the two to laugh. Luz then pauses for a second. "I should probably get home. I'm nervous about this." "Yea, the Boiling Isles is no place for a wolf." Katya mentioned. "Yea. If the Demon Hunters don't kill me, they'll capture me. Or worse." "Hey, don't worry so much. Me and my pack will chase them all off. There's two of us now." "Yea. You're right. There's two of us now. Two Wolfwalkers." Luz said, with a wag from her tail. "Tomorrow night, meet me here again, and we'll make a plan to tell the town about existance. Maybe they'll even accept it. The possibilities are endless." Luz then paused for a moment. "I'm not sure about that." "What do you mean?"
Suddenly, the two wolves heard a twig snap near them. The ears on their heads made them on full alert. "What was that?" Katya asked. All of a sudden, a huge black shadow jumped into Luz, growling and snarling. Luz looked at the beast, and it turns out to be Lillith. "Lillith!" Luz shouted. "Who?" Questioned Katya. As Lillith raises her giant claw, and almost hurts Luz. But she manages to get out of her grasp. "Lillith, stop! It's me." But Lillith didn't listen. "I'll avenge for what you tried to do to Luz! This is for Edalyn!" Lillith was about to swipe down on Luz, when Katya got in the way, and was scratched on her back. As she yelped in pain, blood dripping from the wound. Luz was shocked. She had to stop this. As Lillith was about to give a final blow on the injured wolf, Luz got in the way, and stood up to the Raven Beast. "Wha... What are you doing! Get out of the way mutt!" She growled. As Luz stood there for a few seconds, before she looked to the dirt, and using her claws, draws out a light glyph in the ground. She taps it, and a bright ball of light comes rising up. Lillith's eyes widen, as she starred at the light, as she regonized it as one of Luz's glyphs. But that was impossible. Luz is the only one who knew how to use them. "Lu...Luz. Is that you?" Lillith asked the light brown wolf. Luz whined and smiled. Lillith gasped. She almost tried to kill Eda's apprentice... again. "Luz, I... I'm so sorry. I didn't regonize you. I thought you were-" But that was interrupted when Luz gave Lillith a hug. Telling her, "I forgive you." Her voice hitting Lillith so hard, tears start to form in her eyes. Wait, she heard the human's voice! Can she understand her, since she's a raven beast. "Wait. I can understand you." "You can!?" "Maybe it's because I'm in this form." "Could be." Luz then turned to Katya, and smiled. "Don't worry, I won't keep this secret for long. Someday, I'll find a way to tell everyone about this." "You promise?" Asked Katya. "I promise." Luz replied. And she and Lillith leave to go back to the Owl House. Katya smiled, and wagged her tail. As she left the tree and headed back to the den.

Luz and Lillith are just outside the house. But they were hiding out in the forest. "So, you're scared that Edalyn might find out about this." "Yea. I mean, she shot me with a crossbow. And if she finds out I'm a Wolfwalker, no wonder what she'll do. I'm just scared that she might do something to me. Or even Katya." Luz explained. Lillith was now feeling for the poor kid, as she has an idea. "Don't worry. I got a plan. Stay here, and wait for my signal." "What. Why?" "Just do it!" Said Lillith. As she shifts back to her normal self, and heads straight for the house, with Luz hiding within the trees.
"Lilly, took you long enough." Said Eda. "So, did you find the wolf." "No. It ran off. It's long gone now." "Are you sure." Eda asked, suspiciously. "I'm sure. It won't try to come back for a long time." "Then in that case. I'm going back to bed." Said Eda, as she yawned. "I just had enough with this wolf business." She then entered the house, and closed the door. Good thing Hooty is still asleep. Lillith then waved her hand, getting Luz's attention. She ran out of the woods, as Lillith told her, "Go through the back." And Luz so did. Besides, her room was basically above where the kitchen is. She jumped onto the overhang of the kitchen window, and then onto the second overhang, where she entered her room through the window. Where her human body is still there. Asleep peacefully. "Okay, how do I do this. Um?" Suddenly, she hears footsteps coming up the stairs. Her wolf vision shows that it was Eda. Now she definitely needs to get back in her body. Without noticing, she puts her paw on her human hand. And caused it to glow. Maybe that was the key. She holds her paw down on her hand, and she jumps into her body, a wolf face glowing into her human face. As she woke up and gasped. Eda came in, "Luz, are you okay?" "Eda! What happened?" Luz asked. "A wolf came in through your window. It tried to take you while you were sleeping." Eda replied. "Yea! It tried to take you for its next meal!" King added as he came in. "Well, hey, at least you and Lillith chased it off. I'm okay now." Luz said. Which eventually calmed Eda down. "I guess you're right. I was starting to worry about you. Since I can't do magic, I wouldn't know what to do. You mean everything to me" "So do you. Cuz I love you. I love you so much." Luz said, and hugged Eda. Eda hugged back. "I love you too, kiddo. So much. Well then, goodnight Luz. Let me know if you need anything." She said, and leaves Luz's room to head back to bed. Leaving King with Luz. "Well, I'm exhausted. Nighty-night, Luz." And he curls up onto Luz's sleeping bag. Luz patted him on the head, and she lays back down. Slowly closing her eyes.

The story follows two youths more directly influenced by aforementioned Elder beings than most. Neither lead cares for politics but certain situations force them into participating, forcing them to make decisions that shape their morality. Initially, the focus is on the male lead as he comes of age in an environment with little scope to change his future, only to be thrust into new circumstances that permanently kill some of his hopes. 3k words every chapter
