《Wolfwalkers (DNF Version)》Den

The woman walked deeper into the forest as the pack followed her. She found a hedge and used her hand to magically open the gate

The leaves and vines parted as the pack and herself went inside. She hugged tightly her child as she made it to the den, where it showed paintings

Once back in her throne, she sighed as she hugged her son. He looked at her with his emerald eyes and she smiled, "You remind me of your father."

Her son giggled, "You always say that! Why can't we visit the village?" His mother grew serious and placed him on her lap

"They will hunt us. We must stay hidden. I don't want anything to happen to my little duckling. I fear it might end up like your father."

Her son felt tears as he hugged his mother. She hugged him with care as she felt a wolf's tongue lick her face

She giggled as her son hugged the wolf from its snout and she placed him down. "Listen, I need you to know that we're moving away."

"What?!" her son squeaked as he cried, "Why?! I like this forest!" "There are hunters, duckling. They want to kill us. I will search us a new home and hopefully, live far from the humans," his mother assured

The boy smiled as he ran to play with the wolves. The mother sighed and went to a hidden sanctuary. A photo of herself, her son, and her husband was present as she knelt down

"Oh, Sam. Where do I go?" she whispered as she looked at her husband. She remembered how she first met him. She shook her head as she heard her son laughing and wolves yipping and yapping

She giggled and looked back at the picture, "I'll find us a home. I'll make sure the one who killed you dies by one of us. I promised we will no longer bite anyone. We are the last, and I can't lose our only son, Clay."

She kissed the photo and looked to see Clay riding a wolf as it jumped around. He held on and laughed as the wolf barked

"Clay, it's time," his mother said as he ran towards her and sat with her. He sat on her lap and snuggled close to her as she smiled

"Wolf, wolf, howls the wolf, wolf, wolf, run free..." she sang as Clay's eyes drifted to sleep. She kissed his forehead and whispered,

As a wolf, your name will be Dream, but as a human, you will be Clay

My little duckling

I will find us a better home

Your father would be so proud of us

Now rest, and wait until I come back

She slept and her spirit transformed into the life form of a wolf. She looked at her son and licked his face as she looked at the pack

"Take care of him, and do as he says. No running out of the den in daylight, got it?" All wolves howled as she bowed her head and ran out of the den

She ran in search of a new home, but she hopes it's a safe place for Clay to run around and not have to worry about hunters hunting their pack

She sniffed around and walked as she hunted or drank to keep searching. She looked back at the sight of the walls hiding her pack and her son

I'll be back

Take care of your pack

See you soon, my little duckling
