《Worth It》Chapter 2

Marinette woke up feeling lighter than usual. It was Friday, meaning that today was the last day that she would be a student at François Dupont.

She had a quick shower and picked out a simple outfit for today.

She wore a pair of grey jeans that were slightly ripped at the knees and a pale blue jumper with her logo hidden by her loose hair at the back of her collar.

She was rather happy that she let her hair grow over the past few years. It was up to her mid back now and she preferred it compared to her shorter hair and she long stopped styling her hair in pigtails.

She placed a gold clip in her hair that held her bangs back from her face and once she'd finished admiring herself in the mirror, she went downstairs, ate breakfast and made her way to school.

Once again, she was early, before anyone else. She wasn't sure if Chloe would be in today or not but either way, no matter what happens today, it was her last day.

She took out her sketch pad and began to draw some random doodles while she waited for class to begin.

About 10 minutes later, Chloe walked in. she was wearing a pastel yellow cropped hoodie and blue jeans. Her hair was in twin braids and she walked up the steps looking rather proud of herself.

"Soooo?" the blonde began.

"Soooo?" Marinette mimicked.

"Oh come on Mari-Bug. Don't tell me you didn't see the email from Collège Sévigné" Chloe said as she sat down.

"I did," Marinette chuckled, "I can't believe that was your plan this whole time. You managed to get in contact with people and make an application form for me. Did you give them my sizes as well?"

"I sure did," Chloe replied, "and you are so welcome. I just gave you a ticket to get out of this hell hole."

"I really am grateful for what you've done Chlo. The only downside of this whole thing is how I'm going to be leaving you with these lot," Marinette said sadly, "I don't want to have to do that to you."

"Aww, I am so glad you care for me Mari-Bug. But I already sorted that part out. I'm staying in this class to keep tabs and get more evidence of what these idiots have done to you. Once I have enough, my lawyers are going to help you out further!"

"Y-You really don't have to do all that Chloe. Seriously."

"No I don't have to but I will because I can and because I want to. You are my best friend Mari. And with the pain and suffering that you have gone through over the years, including the things I did to you before we became friends, it's the least I could do, to be honest."

"ugh, damnit you're gonna make me cry!"

"Well don't. I have mascara on and it isn't waterproof. If you cry, I'll cry."

The two girls laughed and began to talk about other topics until the bell for first period rang.

The class all came in, with Lila in front of them telling yet another story.

"After I gave him the designs for Uncle Jagged's new outfit, he made me this jacket to say thank you."

Marinette looked utterly offended at that when she looked at the jacket that Lila was wearing. It was way too flashy and the colours did not go well at all. It was like a unicorn threw up on it. Orange, purple, green, yellow and gold were plastered in random patterns, the cuffs of the jacket were white and the collar was made with black fur. That is not something that she would make! Where did Lila even find that?

She also isn't a guy.

"I still cannot get over the fact that you and MDC are so close. What does he look like? I bet he's cute. Have you ever dated him?" Rose asked excitedly.

Lila chuckled, "No. He is really handsome though I'll tell you that.

Chloe leaned towards Marinette and whispered, "hear that? she thinks your handsome."

Marinette rolled her eyes and gently pushed Chloe's face away from hers.

"However, he isn't my type. I'm fine with where I am now," she replied as she latched onto Adrien's arms who just gave an awkward smile to the girl.

"Coward" Chloe whispered under her breath. Marinette nodded in agreement at the comment.

"Will you get me an interview with him Lila? I'd love a chance to meet him and ask him questions about what it's like to be the youngest fashion designer who's already made so much money at such a young age!" Alya asked

"I'll have to speak with him. He is a busy man after all"

"Understood. Thanks, girl. You're the best!"

At least Lila was smart enough to say that she wasn't dating the famous designer. However, the fact that she's lying about known MDC and getting the gender wrong wasn't going to help her when she gets exposed.

Miss buster walked in a few minutes later with her folder for today's lesson and got everyone to sit down and get ready for English.

Marinette didn't really pay too much attention to the lesson seeing as she knew English already. Unknown to everyone else apart from Chloe who also knew English, she knew more than French but acted as though she didn't. she could speak and/or understand French, English Mandarin and a little bit of Spanish.

Most of the others don't seem to pay attention either. Well, that or they just really cannot grasp the language. Marinette can tell because when it comes to speaking, they're terrible. That's the nicest way to put it. When they did a mock speaking test, she and Chloe got the best scores. Adrien Sabrina and Max came after them while the others failed miserably. It was quite funny actually. Lila always bragged about how great she was at English and how she's had many trips to London. To see her only get 3% was hilarious. But of course, she managed to come up with a lie and say that she was feeling dizzy during the test but still went through with it anyway. And as usual, she gained sympathy from the others for it.

All in all, the lesson went by ok. Next was History. Again, another lesson that went by with no problems. And soon enough it was break time.

Marinette and Chloe went to go and sit at their usual table.

"Omg, we so need to have a sleepover before you leave for Collège Sévigné!" said Chloe

"That would be nice actually. But you will also be in my visiting list as well so you'll be able to come to my dorm at a designated time" Marinette responded as she typed a few things down on her laptop. She was placing a list of names of people she would allow to visit her for an hour. So far, she had her parents, Chloe and Kagami. She would be sent the access cards tomorrow if she sent in the visitor form today.

"We should invite Kagami too. Hopefully, her mother will let her this time," said Chloe

"I'm sure she will. She couldn't come last time because she had her fencing tournament the next day anyway."

"Alright. I'll text her and we can sort out our plans in advance" said Chloe as she began to text Kagami.

"Plans for what?" a voice suddenly said, "I hope you aren't planning anything against me."

"None of your business Lie-la." Chloe said back at her.

"Hey don't be rude! She was just asking a question!" Alya snapped as Juleka and Rose comforted Lila who was now crying.

"And I was just answering her question. Problem? I think not. Now buzz off will you" Chloe said as she swatted her hand at them indicating for them to leave. She did all this without looking up from her phone.

"Ugh. You are such a-"

"Did you guys seriously just come over here to be insulting? If so, I suggest you take your lame insults somewhere else."

Alya fumed, "we're here because Lila said she saw you look at her funny and was scared that you were gonna do something to her again. We just came to warn you that you'd better stay away from her or else!"

Marinette and Chloe rolled their eyes.

"Believe me, we would be more than glad to stay away from Rossi. But for some reason, she seems to be coming to us," Marinette replied, "also, you aren't that special Lila. We were not talking about you at all. So, like Chloe said, leave us alone and there won't be any problems. And seriously? Threatening with more abuse. Not pretty."

"Abuse?" Alix scoffed, "you attack Lila first. We only give you what you deserve for hurting such a sweet girl for no other reason but jealousy!"

Marinette clenched and unclenched her jaw. She gave Chloe a look and she knew what she was saying.

"Now where do you think you're going?" Alya asked as she jumped forwards and roughly grabbed Marinette's upper arm where a bruise was and squeezed hard causing the smaller girl to wince.

"Let go of her Cesaire! What the hell is wrong with you!?" Chloe demanded

Alya, who was still pulling on Marinette smirked at the blonde, "fine. You want me to let go? I will." Alya then let go of Marinette but gave her a hard shove afterwards causing her to fall and drop her laptop at the same time. The laptop hit and skidded across the ground with a hard impact definitely causing some sort of damage.

"No!" Marinette cried as she got up, ignoring the pain in her leg and went for her laptop. She opened it and there was a crack going down the screen and it caused a section of the computer to remain black when she turned it on.

"Alya you damn bitch!" Chloe screamed, "you broke her laptop!" the blonde went to go and help her friend who looked to be on the verge of crying. Chloe had bought her that laptop for her 15th birthday. It's the laptop she used to start her new website before she had to shut down her old one due to the rest of the class absolutely slandering it and making fake orders so that no one else could commission.

"Hmph! Serves her right. That way, she'll learn not to mess with Lila again."

"You have to pay for that!" Chloe demanded

"No way. As I said, she deserved it!"

"I never even did anything! We were sat here in peace and you guys came to us! Do you not see how stupid and deluded you're being!?" Marinette yelled back.

"What did you say to me?" Alya growled

"I said you are being stupid and deluded! Ugh, you can't even see it because you've been so blinded by Lila's silver damn tongue! To think that I ever thought I was friends with any of you. It was all fake. Every single bloody moment!" Marinette harshly wiped away the tear that left her eye but she wasn't finished, "I cannot wait to not have to wake up and dread having to see your faces every day. I won't have to put up with your bullshit anymore!"

The girls, including Lila and Alya, were taken back by Marinette's cussing. They'd never heard her curse before so hearing it now, while also seeming incredibly angry, was quite the shock.

But Lila took everyone's shock as an advantage to burst out crying, "w-w-w-why do you have to be s-so mean M-Marinette? A-All I wanted was t-to be friends w-with you"

"You made her cry again!" cried Rose.

"I didn't do jack shit Rose" Marinette spat. That caused the small blonde to flinch at the tone and glare that she received.

"I'm going home. But I want all of you to know this. I hate you. with every fibre of my being. And the chances of me ever forgiving you are off the charts. You've caused me to suffer for too long. You think that what you're doing is justice for your precious Lila. But the day when your eyes open, if that ever happens that is, I'll already be gone. You will regret how you've treated me. Whether it's in a few days or a few years, Karma always keeps tabs on her victims. And I won't care how you're dealt with in the slightest."

Marinette's words dripped with venom and her tone was low and dark. Everyone would be lying if they said that they didn't feel a shiver go down their spine. Not once did she raise her voice.

Marinette didn't even give them a chance to react. She turned on her heel and walked out of the premises.

Chloe remained, glaring at the rest of the class while giving them a smug look before she followed after her friend, "you lot have royally screwed up."
