A/N:
Fully narration-oriented chapter and might seem boring and too long of an explanation but it's important because it finally reveals some answers. I urge you to not skip it(if you do skip, prepare to be utterly confused in the upcoming chaps). Thanxx.
----------------------------------------
The Wise Monkey's POV:
I think it's finally time.
I admit defeat, you won. I'm gonna spill it all faster than I expected. This game was fun: letting you in the dark about what I'm actually doing. Ah, but every fun thing has to come to an end too.
Notice me saying it's a 'defeat' that I have to do this. That's because I didn't plan to, I didn't want to, and I'm not doing it for you. I figured that I need to talk it all out to figure and organize everything out myself( and maybe I need a rant). So here I am, finally ready to spill what job I'm actually doing. Most of your questions will be answered by this, I hope. My main focus still is to fish out some answers for myself.
I look up at the sky, hoping to receive some response. I look to my right to see the words in a random banner change to my language and arrange in words: 'Why didn't you ever wonder? With due respect, you should've done your research better, Ninth Solitaire. ―Yours truly.'
These lads are getting bolder as days pass by. They better be ready for when I return back to /sɛrkʌ/.
But to be honest, I am aware it's my own fault. I tend to not do full research sometimes due to my impatient tendencies.
Anyway, let's focus on the plan at hand. It's time for the reveal. Soojin's busy with work, the boring usual. So are the boys. Nothing out of the ordinary. That's why I chose this time to do it.
So, here it goes...
I, The Wise Monkey, the youngest and the last, that is the ninth Solitaire of the Nine Wise Solitaires of /sɛrkʌ/, work under my master Fate along with the two other Solitaires, The Wise Dolphin and The Wise Eagle. And when I say we three work for Fate, it should be understood that whatever we do is connected to Fate's work itself. And what does my mate do? Simple, he writes the fate of all the beings ever to exist on this universe. It's a tough job, but so it is for his siblings, the older Mistress/Master/Being Genesis and the younger Master Nemesis. These three are the parts of the ruling family of /sɛrkʌ/, the Royal Trinity. But the ruler is still their mother, Existence, the Supreme Being and the Supreme Commander.

But enough about /sɛrkʌ/( Maybe I even spilt too much about my realm).
So, what's my job?
No being is 100% perfect in their job, human or otherwise. Sometimes, mistakes can happen to even to one as powerful as Fate, and sometimes that needs a correction. What I'm saying is, in the most blunt way, my master and pal does mess up with the writing of destiny of humans. And that is where I come in; well, if he wishes that a correction is needed.
A fate of a person is depended on their deeds from their previous life. How much of a good being one was in the previous life and what all wishes one had for their next life, all influences Fate's decision in writing the destiny. But sometimes the written fate of a person doesn't yield the satisfactory result that was actually intended, sometimes it goes exactly opposite to what the person wished for in their previous life. But do all those persons get a correction? No.
We categorize humans. And there is one category that gets special benefits and services from us. The 'special humans'. Only these humans, if there is a spotted problem in their destiny, can enjoy the privilege of a correction programme or simply, re-writing. But even not all of them gets the chance to. Because I am only just one sole being. I can't correct everyone's fate. These special humans with faulty fate(the list of which is made by The Wise Eagle, that's one of his jobs), their names are simply put in a ballot and one is picked by me, and viola, then I cater to them. They become my client and I provide them service.
And this particular time when I picked the slip, the name on it read Ahn Soojin. She was one of the special humans who were chosen. Now special humans obviously should have list of good deeds attached to their files, but it's much more complex than just that categorizing. There are a lot of portfolios that decide who all(very very few, practically non-existent decimal compared to earth's population) get to enlist in the special humans list, I or any other being like me isn't simply aware. Deciding that is the main job of The Wise Dolphin, one of the most respected and intimidating Solitaires.

I have to work every once in a decade(of earth years). Sometimes there's no work in a particular decade at all, depends on how many special humans there are per decade on earth, because they do tend to be zero sometimes.
Ahn Soojin really doesn't look like a special person to me, but we all trust The Wise Dolphin's decision, she's really wise.
Naturally, when it's confirmed who I have to serve, I get their profile and completed study it. Their whole life, and the highlight era of years and the year of their death from the previous life.
Speaking of that, yes, every humans have had previous lives on earth. You guys have multiple lives but even if you are on your first human life on earth, you still would have had a previous life. Why? Because souls live on earth with their physical embodiment of their different lifetimes based on the hierarchy of living beings, from the lowest being to the highest. A soul start their first life as a mere micro-orgasm and go through different forms in different lives, each time a being of superior level in the hierarchy; from germs to algae to small plants to trees to insects to reptiles to animals, and then finally humans. One goes through millions of lifetimes before they have the privilege to birth as a human. And then many human lives from there on until they are worthy of getting rewarded of the ultimate peace.
Sorry, did I go too off-topic?
So Soojin. After I studied her profile, I went to the library of human-life records to fish out the record ball of her previous life. It's a magic ball, you use it to land inside the life( or records of the life of the human) and watch everything like it's happening in real-time.
So I studied her previous life. And maybe you would want to know the details of it. And maybe I should tell. I think I would.
One of the biggest issues that's eating me up is how I thought nothing much of how Soojin, a special human who was lucky enough to have me at her service, also had the luck to reunite with nine of the characters from her previous life. It's no big deal, these nine souls kind of had influence on her life and fate then and maybe they'd have made pivotal characters to make up for the tragedy of her last lifetime in this. But, it's not common for Fate to be generous enough to make familiar souls to be around you in your new life.
I initially thought nothing much about Ateez and Soojin sharing their lifetime together. I still can't figure out if I should assume any complex reason for it. It's just that since Joshua came into light, it has made me confused. Is history going to repeat?
Don't worry. You wouldn't have to put up with my cryptic statements much from here on. You'll get it once you know the past of Soojin.
And even though I can't make myself to tell you all about her past altogether, I'll make sure to muster up scenes, however random it be, from my memories of watching her life-record balls whenever I have time.
So, prepare for that I guess.
Let's get this over with.
The faster this is over, the faster I can go back to /sɛrkʌ/ and finally have some rest.
Cheers to my thoughts of freedom from work!
I didn't think I'd need to make this book mature-rated but now I do. The past wise monkey mentioned is on the way and it's a bit dark and would fit the mature-rating acc. to Wattpad guidelines.
Task:
Comment an answer to the question: Would you have preferred a regular 3rd person/omniscient/author's POV on this book or do you like that I've made The Wise Monkey narrate it(along with Soojin but she's a minor narrator)?
