《The Blood Queen》Last Ceremony

My head felt heavy when I woke up. Dominic's words still rang in my head from last night. I broke every part of him. It made me sick to my stomach. Fortunately I didn't run into him all morning as I packed my duffel bag and got ready for Henley and Charlies ceremony. I hesitated on what to do with the bracelet. Last minute I decided to put it on under my black long sleeve short. It was hidden but it felt like home to have it on again.
When I arrived to Henley and Charlie's castle I found Emily and Thaddeus were already there. "I think its crazy Dominic is giving up the kingdom. He held onto it for so long" Emily says as I walk in. "Oh hey Alina, want some breakfast?" she asks offering me a plate of fruit and biscuits but I politely decline.
"I'm actually looking for Henley, I imagine her and Charlie are still preoccupied after last night" I say and Emily and Thaddeus laugh.
"I know we could leave our home for months after our wedding" Thaddeus teases Emily and she smacks his arm.
A glowing Charlie and Henley walked into the room and Henley gave me a big smile and pulled me in for a hug.
"I'm so glad you don't have to leave until tonight and can stay for the ceremony" She squeals.
"I wouldn't miss it" I say.
After breakfast Henley dragged Emily and I to her room to help her get ready. Today she decided to wear a baby blue dress that fell just below her knees. She kept her hair down and I applied minimal makeup to keep her looking summery.
"Are you getting nervous?" Emily asks Henley as she admires her reflection.
"I thought I was nervous yesterday vowing my love to Charlie and today I'm even more nervous vowing my life to a kingdom" she says shaking her head and laughing.

"How is the Queen to be?" Roman says from where he stood at the door.
"Nervous" Henley laughs and he gives her a warm smile.
"Don't be. If anyone should be nervous its Charlie. He has to keep up with you" He teases and Henley rolls her eyes. As Emily fixes Henley's hair one last time Roman steps beside me.
"How are you? I'm going to miss you when you leave" He says and bumps my shoulder lightly.
"And I'll miss everyone I grew so fond of here" I respond and it was true.
"You are welcome back anytime, especially to my kingdom" He says and I smile thank fully at him. A pit in my stomach grew knowing I would never see these people here again. But it was the right thing to do for the future of everyone I cared about.
"Are you ready, my Queen?" Charlie says walking in and embracing a giggly Henley.
"Always" she says before looking back at the three of us. "See you all out there" She adds before her and Charlie leave the room.
"Shall we?" Emily asks and we all head out to the ceremony. We all stood below the small platform where Helena would pass the throne from Dominic to Charlie who would then crown his Queen. I was nervous to see Dominic up there.
This morning I had found the capsule back in the blue velvet bag and I knew Dominic had been in my room while I was sleeping to return it. I wonder why he would? Just to rub it in my face? Whatever the reason it drove straight into my heart.
As Dominic stepped up onto the platform my heart fell from my chest. He didn't look at me. Helena looked nervous and it formed a ball of fear in my stomach. Everyone turned as Charlie and Henley walked down the aisle and bowed on their knees in front of Dominic.

"I have been honored to serve the people for the last five hundred years. For three of those years we were without a Queen. Now I will bless this kingdom with no one better for the throne than Charles and Henley DeCapilani" He announced placing the crown on Charlies head. Charlie stood and faced Henley. He lifted the crown I once wore and held it above Henley's head.
"I am honored to have you as my Queen" He announces and starts to put the crown on Henley's head when Helena grabs the crown.
"I can't curse another Queen" She says and her sorrow filled eyes meet mine.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.

Evolution of the Lazy Gamer by Bruticus
It had been five years since the game Royalroad first appeared. A new expansion had been released and one person was assigned by his company to review it. That was the beginning of the story of a lazy, unheroic character who would meet others just as lacking in the heroism department as he was. Still life (or virtual life) throws you curve balls and you never know what will happen.

THIRTEEN (Evie's Perspective)
This is the 2003 movie, Thirteen, told from the perspective of Evie Zamora. We got Tracy's point of view, but what about Evie? Why did she do the things she did?I've seen a few different interpretations of Evie's perspective and I decided to give it a go. This is how I think Evie thought and the reasons behind why she did the things she did. This is NOT canon, just a fanfiction, and I am not affiliated with Thirteen or Catherine Hardwick in any way.
