《Wrap Me in Gold ; Reader X Midas (Fortnite)》Chapter 5 | First Day Shenanigans

You made your way around the house to know which room is what. You reached to the master bedroom where a queen size bed sat against the wall. You sighed as you took everything in, you're currently living in the game that you played everyday. Crazy shit. You walked over to the nightstand and placed both house and boat keys on top so you wouldn't lose or forget either of them. Like any other night in the real world, you decided to take a shower as the night grew darker. Letting the warm water hit your skin you began to think about your real life; your friends, family, people you didn't like, even your boyfriend. Guilt started to creep up on you as you thought of him. Ever since you got here, you didn't once think of him, especially when you're drooling over Midas, Y/B/N didn't make a thought in your head. In your defense, even before you got sucked into this game, things felt off with him but you didn't wanna admit it to yourself, it hurt but you too much of a coward to do anything about it. If anything, you considered yourself cheating on him as your thoughts were filled by the pale tattooed man across the water in your backyard. You shook you head, ignoring the guilt and simply told yourself 'I'm in a whole different parallel universe right now, I shouldn't even worry about him. I have new things to worry about.'
You knew how stupid you sounded but at the same time, you were right, he's not relevant anymore, he's not here so what's the problem? Almost done with your shower, you decided you wanted to shave since that's what you love doing so much to your body. Thankfully you were provided with a new clean razor, you'd go crazy if you couldn't shave the unwanted hair off your body.
Finally finishing up and turning the water off, you stepped out tired and ready to go to bed. As you were drying yourself clean naked body you started to wonder what you would wear to bed. Wrapping the tan colored towel around your body you walked back into your room towards a dresser as little drips of water fell from the tips of your hair. You opened the dresser to reveal nothing. You groaned as you realized you'd have to just wear your disgusting dirty undergarments. You felt dirty just from the thought it. "Fuck it, I'm sleeping naked so I can wash this dirty shit." you said out loud to yourself walking over to the dirty clothes picking it up before walking downstairs to the washing machine. The washing machines were in the basement like another house in Fortnite so you weren't new to that.
You finally made it to bed, nude that is, quickly running past the window even though you had a towel wrapped around you when you'd leave the room. The lights were off, having the moon and streetlights being your only source of light through the windows. You glanced at the digital clock on the night stand next to you reading '10:32pm'. You laid on your right side looking towards the window thinking how you managed to get all of this under 24 hours. 'This is some shit out of fan-fiction' you thought. You decided to finally close your eyes after reaching over to the clock and setting an alarm for '6:20am', luckily it's functioned to act the same way your old digital clock did.
Your ears rang as the beeping of the alarm went off, indicating that it's time to get up and ready. Your eyes squinting so hard that if you closed them, you felt as if they wouldn't open again. You reached over to the 'snooze/quit' button slamming it. You weren't the biggest morning person, but in this case you were, excited to start your first day. Letting your mind roam of the possibilities you can have from working there, you slowly got up and took the quickest shower, scared that you'll have the henchmen waiting on you if you didn't hurry.

Checking the time you read the clock as it read '6:36'. Your eyes widen as you knew that the henchmen were going to come very soon. You ran downstairs, towel still wrapped around your body, making your way towards the basement going to the washing machine. You hurried to throw it on before making your way upstairs checking the time yet again. '6:43' read the digital clock. The henchmen should be here any moment now. Relieved that you finished, you used up the rest of the time double checking yourself in the mirror. You dried your hair very well so by the time your arrive at the agency, it should be completely dry with no drips of water trickling down the tips. You skin was bare and naked from any sort of makeup, making you cringe. You enjoyed a good amount of makeup but only the basics, nothing too dramatic. Drawn in brows, mascara, with a hint of eyeliner and foundation to set it were the way to go for you. You had hope that maybe you can find a way to come across those products to satisfy your needs.
You heard the doorbell ring making you jump out of thoughts. You finished cleaning yourself up and made your way towards the front door grabbing your house keys on the way out. You opened the door to reveal not one but two henchmen this time. "Good morning guys." You smiled. "Morning ma'am" the henchman to your left replied while the one to your right nodded his head. "Are we going to start heading to the agency now?" You asked. "Yes, right this way Miss Y/N." Henchman #2 answered. You followed the two towards the same boat you arrived home in, sitting behind the seat in the middle while one henchmen drove and the other stood next to you. Driving there was super quick since all you had to do was travel over a stream of water, making your wind blow crazily from the speed of the vehicle. You began irrupted from the itchiness of hair all over your face so you gripped your hair holding it with two hands over your right shoulder.
Staring that the agency, you began to approach your destination as the boat parked in front of the entrance where other boats also parked at. You stood up as a nearby henchmen held his hand out for you to climb out. 'These henchmen sure are gentlemen' you thought to yourself. You waited for the two henchmen in boat to come out and lead you inside. Just like when you arrived the first time, you were stunned at how beautiful the building was, inside and out. Two of the henchmen split up going their ways as you stood at the entrance awkwardly not knowing what to do now. Luckily, you quickly spotted a woman sitting behind the front desk before you. She had platinum blonde hair with purple strands up in a bun but letting two strand of purple hang down. She worse purple lipstick to match along with blue shades covering her eyes. You've never seen her skin in game before so you couldn't make out who she was.
You approached the desk nervous if she'd be on of those mean desk ladies that aren't very rare in the real world. "Hi, excuse me?" You shyly said getting her attention. She instantly gave you a warm smile "Hi! How can I help you?" She asked. "Uh, I'm new here, it's kinda my first day and I don't know where I'm supposed to be going.." You informed her, thinking that you sound like a complete idiot not knowing what to do here, at the highest ranked place in the game at moment. "Okay that's fine, what's your name?" "Y/N." You stated. She typed into the computer in front of her scanning through a file where she then pulled up your name. "Alright," She began "It looks like you'll be heading to Mr. Midas' office since it is your first day and he'll help you get situated." She smiled at you again. "His room is on the third floor. Head up the stairs to my left right here, you'll go up until you get to the third level, take right and his office will be on the left. Please knock and wait for permission to come in!" She informed. "Okay, thank you so much." You have a small smile back.

You followed her directions up the stairs and came across the same door you walked through just yesterday. You took a deep breath and knocked four times waiting for permission just like the lady down stairs told you to. Quickly after your knock you heard a "Come on in!" on the other side of the door inviting you in. Your eyes landed on Midas sitting at his desk as he wore black framed glasses that he took off to look at you. "Right on time Y/N, take a seat." He spoke. You felt relieved as you weren't that person who arrived late on their very first day. You sat there awkwardly eyeing the room scanning little details as he shuffled through papers on his desk. The sound of paper being mixed together filling the room of silence. He slowly started to stand up, still focusing on looking through his papers finally turning away from the desk and walking over towards a file cabinet, opening and searching. "Sorry, I think I must've misplaced the- oh, never mind" finally finding the file he was looking for. He back on the his chair behind his desk before looking at you getting ready to discuss the work that comes your way.
You sat there ready to carefully listen to every word he said which shouldn't be hard considering how handsome he was and how it would be harder to not listen to the man. Both of your hands holding on to both sides of the chair, legs crossed, leaning forward with ears open and ready to listen. "Good morning, miss. Y/N." He looked down at you. "Hii" You replied shyly. "I hope you're enjoying your stay at the house." He started and you just nodded in response. "So getting into work, I have a few paper work for you to read over for me, nothing hard at all since it's your first day I don't want to put so much on you. I want to slowly increase the amount of work and effort you'll be putting into this work environment." You nodded your head as he went on. "As you read these papers, I need you to make sure that they're in order. Theres a 6-digit code right here on the top left," He instructed as he lifted up the paper showing you the code pointing at the 6 numbers. "Its simple really, but you're going to have to go through about three stacks today, and two more tomorrow." He finished. "Sounds about good to me, I can do it." You said to show enthusiasm, smiling. "That's the spirit." He said.
You expected way more work honestly, he is the the leader of this agency building so you figured he'd have more work to assign you. He reached over to a pile of papers next to him and stacked them together before stretching his arms over the desk holding them with both hands giving it to you. You gladly took them out of his hands before standing up. "Where can I work on these?" You asked. He crossed his legs over the other in a manly way leaning back, "Theres a bunch of little office rooms near the other staircase across from where we are, they should all be empty at the moment, so pick whichever you like and claim it by putting your name on a sticky note and putting it on the door." He explained. "Okay, thank you. Is that where I will be working from now on?" You questioned. "Yeah, when you claim it, I'll have a henchmen come by to make a name tag to stick by the door with your name on it." He finished. You nodded then made your way out the door.
You walked over to a door that you figured would be an office. Opening the door revealed a very tiny cozy room with a large desk, chair, computer, an office phone, some pens and sticky notes, and a file cabinet. Very plain, but you can't complain, maybe you can make it cute when you had the time. But you ever have the time? You have to also focus on getting out of here, then again, you let Midas handle that as you don't know how to figure your way out. You assumed he knew way more than you so gave him the job and just focused on yours. You placed the stack of files on the table and closed the door behind you. You walked over and sat on the chair scooting yourself closer to the desk, then reached over to grab a pen and sticky note writing your name setting it aside to put up on the door later when you leave. You decided to finally get started on the work as you put your hair up in a low bun with a few strands hanging down letting lose to add a cute touch.
You finally finished your paper work which took longer than expected. You checked the clock hanging above the door reading '9:54' almost 10 o'clock. You already felt drained as your eyes started to hurt a little from looking for a 6-digit code every second the last few hours. Putting the papers neatly stacked on top of each other organized and ready to go, you grabbed them as you made your way out, completed for the day. You walked across the hall over to Midas' office knocking waiting for an answer. There was no response, so you knocked again, a little bit harder in case he didn't hear. Still nothing. You furrowed your eyebrows slightly embarrassed that you're now just standing there by yourself wait for what seems to be, nothing. You sighed, pulling your big girl pants up you found the courage to look for someone to ask for help. You searched around for a henchmen since they're everywhere but for some reason, the one time you look for one, you didn't run into one, leaving your only option for help being the front desk lady.
You walked down the three flight of stairs reaching the first level, shoes tapping the ground being the only noise throughout the whole entire quiet room. You stood in front of the desk getting the young lady's attention from her computer. "Hi again, need help with something?" She asked. "Yeah, I finished Midas' work," You began, lifting up the stack of files showing her your completed work. "and I went to go drop them at his office but he wasn't there and I didn't know if I should've just waited or left them on the door by the ground..?" You explained. "Oh, uh, okay well it's currently 10:03, which means that he should've just started his 10 o'clock meeting so you can find him in the meeting room right behind me, to the right, and the door should be straight ahead at the very end." She informed with her arm out instructing which way to go. "Okay, thank you so much.. Bracer?" You said noticing her name tag. "No problem, I'm always here if you need help. I didn't get your name though." "Y/N." You smiled before walking off to the meeting room. You were relieved that you had someone you were familiar with in the building, although you just met her, thankfully she'll help you around here. You gripped onto the stack tightly, trying your best not to drop them as you walked up the door to be faced with a henchmen standing in front of the door. Since some of the henchmen were familiar with you and your presence, he moved out of the way for you nodding for permission to enter. You gave him a quick 'thank you' before quietly opening the door behind him.
Creeping your way in quietly, it didn't seem to work too well. All eyes and heads turned towards you and only you, making you anxious by the second not knowing what to do. "Come in, Y/N." Midas invited with his handsome emotionless face. You closed the door behind you making your way awkwardly to Midas at the end of the table. You avoided making eye contact as you were shy from all of the attention on you as Midas made it worse.
"Everyone, this is my new assistant, Y/N." He began speaking
