《Wrap Me in Gold ; Reader X Midas (Fortnite)》Chapter 2 | Unrealistic Dream

Its been two days since your stalk mode crush on Midas has happened and to your surprise, you've started to forget about him and your 2 hour obsession on him. He was just in a game after all meaning that he technically doesn't exist and you'll never meet him. Right? Yeah.
You haven't gotten the chance to play with your friends since they were both so busy and you weren't interested in playing with anyone else. You dread at the thought of not playing Fortnite. I mean yeah, you can play by yourself but you just weren't the type to play solo, the intensity of going against a lot of people and being on your own made you shiver nervously. That being said, you decided to finally do something productive, homework. Rolling your eyes you open up your MacBook clicking on the iconic green circle icon with three black bars, Spotify. You scroll through the music not sure which genre you wanted to listen to. Your decision always fell back onto something chill and relaxing when you did your homework as you select "Show Me How" by Men I Trust. You then click safari on the bottom bar of your screen typing in the website you'd get your homework assignments from.
An hour and a half passes by and to you, that's too long when it comes to school work. 'Fuck it' you say to yourself as you close your laptop shut causing the current song to stop playing. You sit on your chair both elbows on the desk with your head resting in both your hands as you stare at yourself through your small desk mirror pondering what you should do now. The thought of playing a game of Fortnite kept going through your head. You grabbed your phone opening the snapchat icon swiping right into the messages of your friends that you recently came into contact with through the app. Clicking on Y/F/N's contact you texted her a quick "hop on?" as she immediately replied with a "sorry I can't today and neither can Y/F/N.". Bummer. 'Damn it' you curse at yourself as you rise up from your chair and head over to your bed and turn on your switch device 'Guess I'm on my own today'. As you let it load to log in, you didn't have the patience to sit there and wait so you decided to go out into the kitchen to grab something to snack on.
Walking back into your room the door to your parents room opens where you mom appears and you take notice that she's wearing clothes and makeup showing that she's going to go out somewhere with your dad most likely.

"Where are you going?" You questioned the woman before you. "Me and your dad are going to go visit grandma. You wanna come?" You hated when she or your dad would offer knowing that you never really wanted to. "Mm no." you said before quickly running off into your room before she stopped you and forced to drag you along. It's not that you didn't like your grandma or didn't like seeing her, you loved her! How could you not, she's your grandma, the backbone to holding the whole family together. But it was just you'd rather relax at home than just sit in the same room with all the adults doing nothing but be on your phone the whole time. No disrespect, just a preference.
Closing your door you went to your gaming device to see that you were in the lobby ready to play the next game of your choice. "Let's goo." you say to yourself getting excited that you were on and ready to play. Looking at the game choices you decided to play solos being brave of being on your own not relying on others for once. When you hit the ready button, you weren't being taken into the waiting lobby island as you usually would be, instead, the screen went black. "what the hell..?" you whisper to yourself eyebrows furrowed as you saw your reflection the black screen. You decided to just click the off button to restart but after the many clicks, it wouldn't budge, nothing. 'Are you fucking kidding me??' you panicked worrying that you have just somehow broken your switch. You began to panic more as time went on and the device still would not turn on.
Next, the unthinkable happens, your screen started to glitch out of control. You start getting anxious, eyes widening at what's happening before you. Catching a glimpse of the images spazzing out you see different Fortnite characters; Agent Peely, a girl with a red beanie, a well built cat, and many others, but before your can react, your vision went black.
You slowly open your eyes taking in how you managed to suddenly wake up not remembering that you went bed. Furrowing your eyebrows of confusion your eyes adjust to the shade and sunlight peeking through the tall trees hovering over your. "what the fuck?" you muttered as your eyes adjusted noticing that your vision isn't the same, or is it your vision? Freaking out, you look around seeing that you're not home?! 'what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck' is the thought that replays in your head. "Where the heck am I..?" but as you question yourself that, the image of the location starts to come together like a puzzle. 'FORTNITE?!' frozen in your spot as you sat there slightly fangirling how you're dreaming about this and how it feels so... real.

Looking down you quickly realized that you're in a sudden change of clothes. You take in that you were wearing the typical default outfit; including the green cropped jacket every girl wears. 'ew what the hell am I wearing?' This outfit didn't really fit you but then again, you were never really the type of talk about style, you tend to wear basic clothes and call it "cute" knowing that it wasn't comparable to the outfits that all the pretty girls you knew would wear. Luckily, your hair was the same, if wore an outfit, the only thing that could save you would be your hair and how it looked. Running your fingers through your hair, you decided to finally go around and have a look before you woke up from your dream.
"Okay.. so I'm in weeping woods right now." you assured yourself being familiar to the game. walking past the parking lot of RV's and other vehicles, you slowly exited the campsite of cabins making your way towards your next destination. For someone who plays Fortnite a lot, you aren't too sure of all location in the game, that including small buildings or locations that you never decided to land on. Walking up the hill, you realized that being in the game meant that the graphics would be the same, it didn't change into a real life texture, the graphics were still the same as you would play in real life. As you thoughts collected how the graphic is the same same, your next thought is if you looked the exact same. Guess we'll have to find out once I come across a mirror.
Once you arrived upon the first part of the hill, you come across a small white brick building. To your eyes it looked familiar but you couldn't piece together what it was, definitely one of the buildings you don't bother going into when you pass by it during a game. Since you're here you decided to finally check it out face to face. Making your way to the front door, a loud screeching alarm rings through your ears as a red laser starts following your exact movements. Startled by the sudden chaos you run through the door closing it behind you as quickly as you can. Heart beating fast with your hair in your face, you compose yourself trying to act calm. In front of you is a desk with a computer but no one seems to be taking charge of it, where you then realize you haven't seen anyone since you suddenly arrived here. 'Weird..' you thought to yourself before you were snapped out of your thoughts noticing that you were being spotted by a male dressed in all white with a mask and helmet holding a-
But before you realize what weapon choice he was holding you were cut off by him yelling. Warning his team of the intruder, you. "No! I mean not harm, I was just checking out the area and-" but they interrupted your excuse quickly running towards you grabbing you by your arms, one on your left, the other on your right. "What'd I do?!" You ask the man holding your left arm taking notice that all the men are wearing the same uniforms, but he ignored you continuing to walk you into a room with green lights and laser looking mechanics. You get scared not knowing what they'll do to you. 'What the hell?! I thought this would be a good dream? What is this!?'
It's been hours since the incident of you being caught has happened and you started to wonder why this dream or nightmare hasn't ended, why aren't you awake yet? You began to grow tired after thinking about the possibilities on what could happen to you or how long it'll take before you wake up. It felt odd.. feeling tired in a dream.. but you had no other option than to fall asleep on the hard cold ground using your arms as a pillow.
You flutter your eyes open as they adjust to the green lights seeing the you're still in the same room for who knows how long at this point. 'What time is it?' You wondered scanning the room for a wall clock of some sort. Not too long after searching the room for the time, you realize that the time isn't your first thought anymore. I slept.. and woke up.. but not back at home where I thought I'd be.
This isn't a dream.

8 239A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
