The days after the fight were harder to get through than the fight itself because (apart from Haydn and me suddenly being out to everyone) we were subjected to a lot of dirty looks and glares since many people blamed us for Wesley not being able to play his stupid sport. Although the rumours were the worst part, people believed I cheated on Wesley with Haydn, or that Haydn seduced and stole me from Wesley or, my favourite so far, Haydn and I were plotting to get Wesley arrested for fighting to get his parents to pay us off.

If I was being honest, I was over the whole thing, I just wanted my name to stop being brought up with his. The whole experience just ruined something that was supposed to be good for Haydn and me, being out together was supposed to be a good thing for us.

I wanted us to become public on our own terms.

Pushing negative thoughts and the stress of the week to the side I finished touching up my winged liner and fluffed up my hair before I took a step back to see my overall appearance. We were all in Logan's room, getting for Monet's party and drinking the cheap vodka Blanca's cousin organized for us. I was dressed in a cargo skirt, bralette, sheer top and combat boots in all black, making sure to straddle the line between badass and sexy.

"Damn girl, you look HAWT," Blanca called out with a straightener in her hand, looking extremely dangerous in red.

"Does my ass look phat enough in this?" Roxanne asked, coming out the bathroom in skintight pants and a low-cut shirt.

"Um fuck yeah!" I grinned as she twerked a little. "How is anyone gonna pay attention to anything else but you?"

"Okay, is everyone ready yet? Can I order the Uber?" Logan asked, looking like an extremely hot, slightly slutty version of Barbie.

"Okay, Miss Thang." Roxanne grinned as Logan strutted for us before twirling.

Even though we barely looked like we were going to the same place we all looked hot and all I wanted was for my girlfriend to see me. We didn't forget to take pictures before we were all climbing into an Uber, tipsy and singing loudly to City Girls. The party wasn't too far away and within three or four songs we were pulling up the large, modernist house that was lit was up with different colored lights.

"Let's go get white girl wasted and dance to bad music." Blanca cheered as she pulled us into the house as Roxanne reminded us to stay safe and be careful.

We slipped through the sea of bodies and made our way to get drinks as I scanned the crowd for Haydn or Jamal, but I came up empty. Instead, I followed my friends to the kitchen where Blanca immediately handed us shots and with a burning throat, she pulled us to the dance floor at the first sound of Meg The Stallion.

I was having a great time with my friends, singing too loud and shaking ass before I headed into the kitchen to get a drink. I was perfectly fine minding my business as I poured a combination of watermelon vodka and sprite, humming quietly to myself until I felt a muscular arm wrap around my waist and harshly pull me against a hard chest.

"Hey, beautiful." A deep voice slurred in my ear, and I immediately recoiled, pushing myself away from him only to be trapped by the counter before I turned to face Damon, a sleazy P.O.S from my grade.

"Fuck off Damon." I groaned, trying to push him away but he wouldn't budge.

"Aw, come on Cristina, what's one little dance between friends?" He smirked as he tried to caress my waist, his hand trying to travel low before I slapped it away.

"No thanks. We're not fucking friends and I don't want to dance with you." I muttered but it didn't stop him from taking a step into my space to pull me closer as I tried, unsuccessfully, to get away from him.

"Well then, how about you let me get it on with you and your girlfriend or at least let me watch?" He grinned sleazily and I felt myself recoil.

"You're disgusting." I spat as I tried to push him away which only made him squeeze me harder, but before I could scream, he was ripped away from me.

"Don't fucking touch her." A familiar voice demanded and as I looked up, I saw Haydn had his arm twisted in her hands, her toned, tattooed arms on display.

She was like my guardian angel, standing tall in skinny, ripped black jeans and a black, distressed "Eat the Rich" t-shirt. She had on a gold chain and studded earrings while her hair was pulled into a slick, straight ponytail, a joint tucked behind her ear. Her beautiful eyes were stylishly lined in black eyeshadow/eyeliner and her eyelashes were long and thick, drawing me in before darting back to the man at hand.

Oh, and she was right- the bruising did make her look hot.

"You must be the girlfriend, you wanna take this upstairs?" He smirked and Haydn rolled her eyes as she twisted his arm some more and his knees buckled in pain. "OW, WHAT THE FUCK?!"

"I don't like people fucking with what's mine," Haydn spoke calmly and he groaned. "Now apologize."

"What-OW OW OW, okay fine, Jesus." He groaned before turning to me. "I'm sorry."

"Next time I see you try and touch my girlfriend I'll break your fucking arm," Haydn warned, pushing him away and once he got to his feet, he tried to take a threatening step in my direction, but Haydn pushed me behind her, making sure to stand between me and Damon.

Amazingly, he and his three brain cells caught the hint and he glared at Haydn before he left, disappearing back into the crowd, and only once he was gone, I relaxed a little. Haydn on the other hand immediately turned to me and took my face in her hands.

"Are you okay? He didn't touch you, did he? Did he hurt you?" She asked sincerely, searching my face for any sign of injury.

"No no I'm okay, I promise. Thank you, for coming to my rescue." I reassured her and she frowned.

"Always come to your rescue Cristina, I just got here and immediately came looking for you. I should've come sooner. He's such an asshole." She muttered and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh wow, a creepy guy was being too touchy at a party. Who would've guessed?" I smiled sarcastically and she shook her head. "By the way, you look really good tonight," I whispered before I leaned up to kiss her hello before pulling away. "Come on, let's forget about this and go enjoy the rest of the party."

"I would actually rather stay here." She murmured before kissing me again. "Make sure you're safe." Although I wanted to stay and make out with her, I had to get back to my friends.

"Well too bad," I murmured, trying really hard not to let her soft lips sway my decision. "I wanna dance, don't you wanna come dance with me?" I asked suggestively before she pushed herself back.

"Fine." She sighed reluctantly and I grinned as I passed her my drink before turning to make another one. I could feel Haydn's eyes on me as I made the same drink, and I grew red as I felt her checking me out.

"You know if you keep staring at me like that, I might have to take you home." I flirted, glancing at her and she smirked.

"Is that a promise?" She asked as she brought her drink to her lips, my skin growing hot but before I could say anything Blanca stepped into the kitchen.

"CRISTINA!" She cheered. "I've been looking for you everywhere, let's go! Roxanne doesn't wanna dance with me." She pouted, obviously tipsy.

"Okay, okay, I'm coming." I grinned as I allowed Blanca to drag me off, pulling Haydn right behind me.

Dancing with Blanca, Roxanne and Logan was really fun, especially when Blanca became the ultimate hype man when we twerked, but do you know what was better? Dancing with a tipsy (and very touchy) Haydn Moreno.

Unsurprisingly, Haydn was really good at dancing and while I thought she'd be too shy it only took a little flirting before her arms snaked around my waist as she pressed me against her body, her hands controlling my hips to move in rhythm with hers. We knew we may have been drawing a little more attention, especially since we had been at the centre of attention recently, but that didn't even stop me from kissing her. I was tipsy and my girlfriend was hot- sue me.

"Hey, Haydn." Jamal greeted as he walked up to us. "Hey, Cris."

"Hey, Jamal." I smiled, very comfortable in Haydn's arms.

"We're about to go smoke if you guys wanna come?" He asked us, mostly Haydn but that was just because she had a joint behind her ear.

"You wanna go, baby?" She asked me gently and I nodded.

"Of course." I smiled as I stepped out from her.

"Ah, I always knew I liked you." Jamal grinned as he winked, and Haydn playfully punched his arm.

"Stop hitting on my girlfriend dude." She teased, wrapping her arm around my shoulders as we walked outside, my friends opting to stay on the dance floor.

As I stepped outside my ears were grateful for a break from the loudspeakers and constant buzz, the cool air was also very welcomed. Not that it helped much because Haydn touching me was enough to set my whole body on fire, especially when she looked at me with burning eyes- I felt like we were the only two people on the planet. Unfortunately, we weren't, and I was made very aware of that when Haydn and Jamal lead me to a circle of their familiar-looking friends who were standing/sitting by some benches.

"Hey, Haydn." A pretty girl with dark hair and pale skin smiled flirtatiously at my girlfriend as she made space for only one person to sit down next to her.

"Hey, Lynn." Haydn nodded as she sat down in the seat, pulling me into her lap and I tried not to smile smugly at her irritated reaction.

"How are you guys doing after this stressful week?" Jamal asked us as he lit the joint before inhaling.

"Hard, some people don't know how to mind their business," I admitted, and Haydn reassuringly rubbed my arm as she took the joint from Jamal's outstretched hand.

"You got it worse though, no one really cares who I am. Guys just wanna high give me and ask to watch and girls just hit on me more." Haydn sighed and she passed the joint to me as I frowned.

"Girls have been hitting on you?" I asked, a little jealously, as I exhaled the smoke and Pablo, one of Haydn's friends, replied.

"Unsuccessfully." He smirked before I passed the joint to the next person in the rotation, the familiar buzz coupled with the alcohol in my system making my mind feel alive. "Haydn can be a bitch."

"I'm happy where I am," Haydn smirked before winking at me and I felt my heart flutter.

My girlfriend was hot and loyal? I'll take my W.

We continued to smoke and laugh with the little group, Blanca even joining us for a few minutes, and although we were having a great time (apart from Lynn and her long face) we were soon interrupted by the loud rumbling of thunder.

"And that's my queue to go back inside," Jamal said suddenly as he stood up quickly and Lynn frowned in confusion.

"Come on Jamal, it's just a little bit of thunder. It's not gonna hurt you." She said rolling her eyes and Jamal huffed.

"Lynn I'm black, not just black but African black and I lived with my Zulu grandmother until I was five, okay? If she knew I was sitting outside during a thunderstorm she'd kill me before nature does." He explained quickly, cautiously looking at the sky and not waiting for a reply, he shot back inside as Haydn laughed.

"His grandmother is really superstitious, I guess she rubbed off on him." She grinned as others took Jamal's queue to leave, Lynn included.

"You guys coming?" Lynn asked gesturing inside and before I could answer Haydn wrapped her arm around my waist, stopping me from getting off her lap.

"Yeah, in a minute," Haydn replied and Lynn rolled her eyes before heading inside.

"Don't you wanna go inside?" I asked as I slid off her lap to sit next to her on the bench. "Jamal's grandma said we'll die sitting out here." I joked lightly, trying to keep my intoxicated thoughts PG as she moved my leg to rest over hers.

"I just want you to myself for a while." She hummed, leaning closer to me. "The stares were too much for me to handle."

"Baby, if I'm being honest, I was barely paying attention to anyone but you," I admitted.

"Is that so?" She smirked as her hand that was resting on my thigh moved higher, the loud thunder cutting through my cloudy mind. "You know I live pretty close by." She murmured, breath fanning my neck as I heard some people step out the house.

"Then what are we still doing here?" I whispered back seriously, her longing smirk leaving me giddy.
