As soon as Haydn drove off the property, I felt 10 times better, exhausted from my panic attack but still better than how I felt before. However, instead of taking me home straight away, she drove us to a grocery store and even though I eyed her curiously she didn't tell me anything.

"Wait here, I'll be right back." She reassured me before getting out of the car and quickly walking into the store.

I figured she was grabbing some stuff for herself or something and took the opportunity to finally check myself out in the mirror in the visor. Thankfully, my waterproof mascara stayed true to its word as the only streaks on my cheeks were the ones from my tears but luckily, I had wet wipes in my bag to take them away. When I found myself looking more presentable, I took my time to look around Haydn's car and to my surprise, I found she had removed her to back seats and added a mattress complete with pillows and blankets.

Haydn didn't take much longer to come back but when she did, she was wearing a big smile and carrying a paper bag. She hopped back into the car, placing the bag at my feet and as soon as she fastened her seat belt we were back on the road, not taking any of my directions as she played Mac Demarco and rubbed my thigh with her thumb.

"Where are you taking me? This isn't the way to my house." I frowned and instead of answering me she moved her hand from my thigh to grab my hand and bring it to her lips, gently kissing my knuckles before lacing our hands together on my thigh. "Fine then, keep your secrets." I rolled my eyes before changing the subject. "What's with the mattress?" I asked gesturing to the back.

"Oh, it's an inflatable mattress for my car that my friends got me, cause whenever we smoke, we normally use my car and then they wanna take naps." She rolled her eyes as she laughed. "We were supposed to smoke later today, that's why I brought it, but I cancelled."

"Oh, I'm sor-"

"No more apologizing." She warned me in a joking manner, and I bit my tongue.

Before long we were pulling into a parking space under a tree of a park, and I frowned but Haydn just grabbed the brown bag and moved to the back. It took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on, but I finally realized what we were doing here.

"Why the park?" I asked curiously.

"I sometimes come to chill here whenever I'm anxious or need some time to get away and I guess I figured you needed the same thing today." She shrugged as she held out her hand for me.

"Thank you." I smiled as I moved to join her in the back.

"Stop thanking me, I'm your girlfriend Cristina, it's my job to be here for you and take care of you." She murmured, kissing my forehead.

"So, this is where you smoke, huh?" I asked and she nodded.

"Yeah, and I would've rolled us a joint if I had known." She said jokingly and I laughed.

"Don't worry, there's always next time," I promised. "Why did you go to the grocery store?" I asked as we went to sit down properly, and she shrugged.

"I was worried you might be hungry but probably wouldn't want a meal." She explained nonchalantly and it was at that moment that I realized how important she was to me. "What?" She frowned in confusion as she took off her shoes since I was probably looking at her like an idiot and I blushed.

"Nothing, I just really like you." I shrugged, unable to meet her eyes as I kicked off my own shoes, tucking my legs under me but I felt her fingers under my chin as she lifted my face so my eyes could meet hers.

"I really like you too." She said seriously before leaning in and kissing me gently. As soon as our lips met, I felt butterflies flood my stomach while an electric sensation danced on my skin and my breath hitched as I felt her tongue run along my lower lip. I loved kissing Haydn but unfortunately, she pulled away too soon and I was left staring into her beautiful eyes.

I felt myself blush as I watched Haydn lean back on her forearms and I took some time to admire my girlfriend and how beautiful she was. In the midst of my panicking, I didn't realize how good she looked today in light wash baggy jeans, a cropped white vest and a thick, oversized grey and black flannel, long-sleeved shirt but it was her face that got me. Her black hair was pulled into a ponytail with a few strands framing her beautiful face while her eyelashes were coated with mascara and her pink lips were plump.

"You look so beautiful today." I smiled as I brushed a strand of her hair and she smiled back at me.

"Well so do you." She whispered back with tinted cheeks, before she sat up, leaning on her hand as she leaned forward. "But thank you."

"I feel kinda bad for making you miss school another day in a row," I admitted as she shook her head.

"It's okay, I don't really care if I get in trouble." She shrugged as she lightly traced over the bruise on my bicep with her thumb and I shivered at her touch. "Are you cold?" She asked and I nodded, which wasn't a lie, I forgot my hoodie on the floor in front and with the rain pelting the roof and windows, it was freezing.

"Yeah, just a little," I admitted and without hesitation, she shrugged off her flannel shirt before forcing me to put it on, despite my many protests.

Her shirt was surprisingly warm and smelt good and once my arms were in, she wrapped it around me. "Warmer?" She asked and I nodded my head.

"Yeah, thanks." I smiled and she moved to lie down on her back, her head resting on one of the pillows.

"How are you feeling?" She murmured as she played with my fingers.

I sighed. "Exhausted but better than this morning," I said honestly, and she frowned.

"Did you sleep okay?" She asked in a concerned tone, distracting me by moving from my hand to my thigh.

"No, I slept terribly," I admitted with a yawn. "But I'm planning on taking a nap as soon as I get home."

"Come here." She whispered before gently pulling me down and repositioning us until my head was resting comfortably on her chest. She draped a blanket over us while her one hand intertwined with mine and the other arm wrapped was around me, holding me in place.

Haydn was extremely warm, which made it hard to ignore exactly how tired I was and as I felt her hand leave mine to gently caress my face, my hand stroked the exposed skin of her waist. She gently placed a kiss on my forehead as I felt my eyelids grow heavy, but I really didn't wanna fall asleep.

"What does that tattoo mean?" I asked, staring at the angel that stood out amongst the other little ones on her bicep and she shrugged.

"Just my guardian angel I got to keep me safe." She said nonchalantly and I glanced down to the one on her forearm of a beautifully detailed moth.

"And this one?" I asked gently brushing it gently and she paused stroking my face for a few seconds before continuing.

"That's in memory of Luna. She always said moths were misunderstood and better and cooler than butterflies, it was her favorite animal, even though I was terrified of them." She explained and I started to trace it.

"It's beautiful, all your tattoos are beautiful," I whispered in awe, and she chuckled.

"Thank you, baby, most of them don't have a meaning- they just look cool." She whispered back as my eyes began to become difficult to keep open.

"I should get a tattoo," I murmured, slightly distracted by her hand as it left my face and went to untie my hair before using her fingers to massage my scalp.

"Mhmm." She sighed, continuing to slowly move her fingers.

"You should really stop that before I fall asleep." I yawned, my eyes closing against my will.

"Ssshhh." She shushed me, continuing to stroke my face. "You can sleep Cristina, I'm here, and I won't let anything happen to you." She reassured me and I believed her completely, even in the anxious state I was in, and because of it, it didn't take me long to drift off.

If I could've, I would've wanted to sleep for much longer, I was content with Haydn's arms wrapped around me but unfortunately, my ringing phone was too annoying to ignore. I groggily sat up and reached for my phone, and answering it immediately without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?" I murmured into the phone only to be greeted by an automated telemarketer.

Hello, this is an automated message from Tailor and co-

I ended the call and sat up properly as I got my bearings and when I finally realized that I was at the back of Haydn's car I calmed down.

"What's wrong?" Haydn murmured as she sat up and I shook my head as I unlocked my phone.

"No, nothing, just a stupid telemarketer." I shrugged before reading a text from my mom.

Sweetheart, your dad and I are going out for a business meeting so you're on your own for dinner. We can have tea when I get back and we can catch up. I love you❤️.

If that was not a sign from the universe that I should stay with Haydn for a few more hours (and hopefully make out a little) then I didn't know what was.

"How long were we asleep for?" She asked and I checked my phone before setting it to the side.

"Only about an hour, we still have time," I replied with a smile as I stretch my arms forward.

"I thought it was longer than that." She smiled, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "You feel better?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, I do, thanks for letting me use you as a pillow." I smiled as I grabbed a bottle of water that she bought while she grabbed the other.

"Anytime." She winked before drinking her water. "If you're hungry I bought strawberries, chocolate, pretzels and sandwiches." She pointed to the packet and my heart melted.

"Thanks, you didn't have to," I whispered before kissing her gently, reluctantly pulling away.

"Gotta take care of my girl." She shrugged as she offered me a strawberry. "Don't worry I washed them in the store." She promised before I grabbed a strawberry from the tray and took a bite.

"Thanks a lot for today, Haydn, I know it must have been hard with all the shit you've been going through. My anxiety isn't normally this bad anymore but today I just felt so out of control I didn't know what to do and when I saw Wesley I just spiraled."

"I'd do anything for you, Cristina, I'm here for you."

For the next hour, Haydn and I talked about everything, our goals in life, our mistakes, our favourite songs and worst experiences and I loved it, opening up to Haydn was one of the easiest things in the world to me. She got me in a way no one else did and I could only hope she felt the same way about me because I wanted to keep Haydn in my life for as long as she let me.

"Can I take you out this weekend?" Haydn asked as she traced my lips with her index finger.

"No." I smiled as I shook my head, her hand falling in disappointment.

"Are you busy?" She asked a little nervously.

"Mhmm, I'm taking you out." I grinned and she rolled her eyes playfully.

"Okay, fine, I see what you did there." She laughed. "So where are you taking me?" She asked and I immediately shook my head.

"Nope, it's a surprise." I smiled while my mind was racing.

"It's okay, I'll wait." She smirked before leaning down towards me, her lips hovering over mine. "But how long do you think you can keep a secret for?" She flirted, her honey-colored burning into mine.

"Quite a while." I smiled, allowing my lips to gently brush against hers.

"How long do I have before I have to take you home?" She asked, staring at my lips and I shivered.

"About half an hour," I whispered, remembering my plans with my friends, and she grinned.

"So, I've got time to get an answer out of you." She murmured before connecting our lips briefly.

"You're such a tease."
