I was always told that being an early riser was a pretty useful skill to have in life and over the years I thought people were talking about being productive, until the morning I woke up next to Haydn.

Before I could even open my eyes against the morning sun, I heard her soft, steady breaths, my head curled in the crook of her neck, her arms wrapped around me as she held me close, even though half my body was on top of her. I was quickly learning that my girlfriend liked being the big spoon, not that I minded, but it was gonna be a problem with a bladder like mine. Haydn looked soft and gentle for someone with such a hard exterior and somehow stayed cool enough that we didn't end up suffocating each other the covers. However, she was a heavy sleeper and while I loved seeing her asleep in my bed with her arms around me it wasn't convenient when I was seconds away from my bladder bursting.

"Haydn," I whispered gently as I stroked her arm, but her eyelids didn't even flutter. "Haydn, baby?" I cooed as I kissed her cheek as I gently stroked the slides of her waist.

"Hmm." She stirred, her eyes still closed as she pulled me closer, and I smiled.

"Baby, you got to let me go now, I need to pee," I whispered in her ear, nipping her earlobe a little. This led her to open her eyes a little as she frowned at me and surprisingly shook her head.

"No." She muttered shortly before turning us over, so she was laying on top of me and as comfortable as her weight was it was only making my situation worse.

But desperate times meant for desperate measures.

I pretended to hug her as I slipped my hands under her shirt and just as I felt her body relax, I started my assault, tickling her in a desperate attempt to escape- the reaction was instant, she laughed hysterically.

"CRISTINA!" She wheezed. "S-s-stop!!" She giggled, moving off to get away from me and as soon as she did, I escaped to the bathroom.

When I was done, I sheepishly made my way back into my room to find a grumpy looking Haydn still curled up amongst the covers. I would've been worried if she didn't look so fucking hot when she was angry, and I was grateful my parents were only coming back in a few days.

Note to self, piss off Haydn more often, its hot.

I quickly climbed back into bed and seized the opportunity to be the big spoon as I wrapped my arms around her, she was still pouting but I didn't care.

"Sorry, I needed to pee," I murmured as I pulled her closer and I heard her sigh before she turned to face me, smiling.

"It's okay, just don't tell anyone I'm ticklish, I would never survive." She whispered as she leaned forward and pecked my lips.

"Don't worry your secret is safe with me." I grinned before she moved to hover over me, her hair creating a curtain around us. "How did you sleep?" I asked as I tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Really good actually." She grinned as she lowered her head down to my neck. "Thanks for letting me sleepover." She whispered lowly before she kissed my neck. "We should really do it again sometime." She murmured against my skin before kissing my neck again, her teeth gently grazing my skin, making my mind go foggy.

"Uhmm." I hummed as I felt my eyes flutter shut against my will.

Haydn continued to kiss my neck as her hands slipped under my shirt and settled on my waist. I felt my heartbeat increasing as my imagination got away from me, but I should've known that if my bladder was against me then my stomach would be too because before my fantasies could become a reality my stomach growled- just when it was getting good.

"Maybe it's a sign we should stop." She smiled as she reluctantly moved to hover over me again and I pouted.

"Noooo," I whined as I entwined my hands behind her neck so couldn't move away from me. "I'm fine, my stomach just makes noises unprovoked." I lied; I was pretty hungry but not enough to stop.

"Nuh-uh." She grinned. "I gotta get my girl some food." She smirked and leaned down to peck me before moving completely off the bed, I immediately missed her warmth.

"There's food downstairs," I muttered, and she shook her head as she stretched and I took a few seconds to admire her incredibly toned, tattooed body in her sports bra and my pyjama shorts.

Man, fuck you stomach.

"I think we should go out and get breakfast." She smiled. "So, I get to show everyone my insanely beautiful girlfriend."

"Ugh, fiiiine." I sighed; how could I argue with that? "Let's go get ready," I muttered as I climbed out of bed, stopping for a few seconds to watch her walk into the bathroom before I followed.

Once we had showered (separately, unfortunately) and changed into public appropriate clothes, which consisted of loose grey sweats and an oversized white Frank Ocean shirt for me and her black bicycle shorts and a graphic 90's sweatshirt for Haydn and climbed into Haydn's car. Staying to theme, I made sure to play Biggie songs and 90's Rap and RNB as she drove to the diner as we sang along off-key.

My cheeks hurt from laughing when we eventually stumbled into our diner and headed straight for our booth. It didn't take us long to order and as soon as the waitress left with our menus Haydn turned to me with a frown look on her face as she played with my fingers.

"You okay?" I asked, gaging her gently, her mind clouded with thoughts I couldn't see.

"Yes?" She answered, unable to meet my eyes, and so I stilled my hands around hers so she could look at me.

"Haydn?" I tried again, this time making sure she was focused on no one but me.

"No." She sighed in defeat; I could practically see the struggle in her eyes. "I'm actually kinda scared." She admitted, blowing my mind in the process.

"Why are you scared?" I asked, hoping not to sound as confused as I felt.

"I'm worried I'm going to fuck things up between us and I really don't want to do that." She added nervously, her golden eyes leaving mine. "Fuck, you make me so nervous." She blushed, pulling her hand away as she leaned back.

"That's a relief to hear." I grinned, scooting closer until our thighs were touching. "Cause you make me pretty nervous too." I reassured her honestly, bringing out my favorite smile of hers. "And besides, I don't think you'll fuck it up, I've got faith in you- just talk to me."

My words had the intended reaction, I watched as Haydn's eyes lit up, her attention solely on me.

"Do you think we would get into troubled if I kissed right here in the middle of the breakfast rush?" She whispered lowly, her eyes leaving mine for a second to glance at my lips.

I didn't answer, I just leaned forward and kissed her, pulling away before things got too heated- we were still in public after all.

"I suddenly regret petitioning for us to leave your bed this morning." She groaned gently, swinging her arm over my shoulders just as the waitress placed Haydn's coffee and my tea in front of us.

"Tough." I teased lightly, letting my tea warm my hands as we settled into a comfortable silence- a silence I decided to break. "Can I ask you a question?" I asked lightly, watching her index finger lightly trace the rim of her mug.

"Of course, you can ask me anything." She smiled before sliding her two fingers through the handle and bringing the mug up to her lips.

"So, if this is your first relationship then what would you describe what you had with other girls?" I asked a little hesitantly and she gently moved her arm to place her hand on my thigh in reassure I didn't even know I needed.

"Honestly? A lot of them were just drunken one-night stands, many of which I'm not proud of." She explained gently and I bit my lip knowing what my next question was gonna be.

"But what about Sara?" I asked gently, I didn't want to bring her up, but she had been at the back of my mind ever since our date.

"Sara was different, I'll admit, but not in the way you think. She was a familiar face during a really dark time in my life and she was always around when I needed a distraction from myself or my life. It was easy being with Sara because I didn't actually have to feel or think or be alive, and I knew she was after the same things." She explained carefully, an undeniable sadness in her voice told me not to push her any further.

"Oh, she just made it seem different to me." I murmured and she shook her head in irritation.

"Sounds like her. I think she wanted more back then but I was in no position to give her what she wanted, but it doesn't matter now, she's way in the past and I'm sitting with my future." She reassured me, going back to her playful self before she kissed my forehead, just as our waitress came with our food.

"Oh shit, did you message your dad?!" I asked as it suddenly dawned on me while looking at my bacon and eggs that last night Haydn didn't actually ask permission for our spontaneous sleepover.

"Yeah, don't worry about it." Haydn laughed at me as she cut into her omelet. "I sent him a message this morning." She shrugged as she took a bite, and I shook my head before turning to my food.

"My parents would freak out if I spend the night somewhere without talking to them." I said before I took a small sip of my peppermint green tea. "I'm talking track me down and pull me home by my hair." I joked lightly and she shrugged with a small smile.

"Yeah, we have a weird relationship. Luis wasn't around when I was growing up, so he never really knew how to discipline me, a rebellious teenager he met twice before I was living with him. He couldn't control me back then, no one could, and I said some things that did some damage- we're still pretty distant." She said quietly and as I watched her push her leftover food around for a few long seconds.

"I'm sorry I brought it up," I murmured as I pushed my plate away and she shook her head gently.

"Don't apologize, these are the consequences I have to deal with from the bad decisions I made but if it makes you feel better, our relationship has been getting better. I just don't want to be like my mom." She clarified and my heart broke for her, I could tell this was something that really weighed on her.

"Hey, look at me," I whispered as I grabbed her hand to make sure her attention was fully on me. "You won't be your mom if you don't want to, Haydn I see so much good in you and I need you to see it for yourself," I reassured her and I saw relief flood her eyes.

However, she didn't answer me as she leaned in and kissed me gently, pouring what she didn't say into our kiss, and I kissed her back- I didn't care who saw us.

It was only when we heard the irritated cough of our waitress did, we pull away embarrassed. My cheeks turned bright red when she placed the bill on the table between us as she cleared our table and as soon as she turned around, I quickly grabbed the bill before Haydn could. It was only when I started to get my money out did she notice and try to lean past me to reach for it.

"Nuh-uh," I smirked as I gently pushed her away. "I'm paying this time."

"You're making it impossible to impress you." She pouted a little and I rolled my eyes.

"Aww, I don't care." I cooed as I placed the money for the total and a tip on the bill before signaling for our waitress to come over, all the while trying to stop Haydn from grabbing the bill from my hands.

I smiled in triumph as our waitress took the bill from my hands, shooting us a confused glance before disappearing again.

"Cristina, you weren't supposed to do that." Haydn sulked as we slid out our booth and I rolled my eyes as I held her hand.

"You've done so much for me already, I just wanted to do one thing for you." I argued, stopping her as she was about to open the door. "Besides, if it's such a big deal to you, I can think of other ways you can pay me back." I flirted and her eyebrow shot up in question as a smirk made its way onto her face.

"You promise." She winked and even though I started this game I knew I lost, especially when I felt my cheeks heat up. "Come let's go, we can watch a movie." She whispered as she gently kissed my forehead as she opened the door and ushered me through.

"You know that wasn't exactly what I was thinking when I said you could pay me back." I laughed as she followed behind me.

I tried to avoid a jittery looking lady standing outside in dirty clothes and a lost look in her eyes in hopes to take Haydn home but I stopped in my tracks when I felt Haydn's hand go limp in mine. As I turned to see if she was okay I felt my blood turn cold in worry when I saw her face had turned white, her eyes fixed on the oblivious woman as she uttered a word I would never expect.

"Mom?"
