《Falling for You ✓ (girlxgirl)》t w e n t y - t h r e e

The rest of the week flew by in a haze of assignments, extra-practices and FaceTime calls with Haydn until past midnight, and before I realized it, it was already Friday, and we were all huddled in the girl's locker rooms getting ready for the game.
"Hey, could I borrow your lotion?" Roxanne asked, pulling me from my thoughts about my week as I leaned forward and grabbed the bottle from my bag before passing it to her as I sat down.
The dance team were joining us in the cheerleading/halftime show but they didn't have pom-poms and had different uniforms, we still got dressed together though.
"So, Cris, is your girlfriend coming tonight?" Blanca asked as she leaned against the lockers in front of Roxanne, and I shrugged.
"She's not my girlfriend." I insisted.
"Yeah, not yet anyway," Logan smirked and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Do maybe want to say that a bit louder? I don't think they heard you on the field." I teased.
"No one is paying attention." She huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Well anyway, when have you ever seen Haydn at a football game- she's not coming." I clarified and they let a chorus of "oh yeah's" in agreement.
"Okay teams, it's time to head to the field!" Logan yelled as she stood up straight, her voice echoing through the locker room as everyone turned to her. "Cheerleaders, grab your pom-poms and dancers grab your ribbons and let's go."
Logan and I and found our pom-poms, heading to the football field with Blanca and Roxanne to stretch. The halls were quiet and empty in comparison to the roaring crowd that gathered to watch the football game, cheering loudly when the cheerleaders and dancers walked onto the field. We waved to the crowd and blew kisses before we gathered in our circle to stretch anything that hadn't been stretched in the locker room.
"Hey guys, there's something I want to talk to you about," Blanca said as she stretched her arms as Logan, and I focused on our splits.
"Yeah, wassup?" Roxanne asked, stretching out her hamstrings.
"I think I want to break up with Cesar." Blanca sighed sadly and we turned to her, mouths agape with shock.
Cesar and Blanca had been dating forever, everyone thought they were the type to get married and have kids together, so her news came as a surprise.
"Did that fucker cheat on you?" I asked, immediately growing mad on Blanca's behalf.
"No dude, he didn't cheat." She said rolling her eyes. "Things just aren't working out anymore and if I'm being honest, I feel like this was a long time coming." She said sadly with shrug.
"Well, whatever you decide, we support you because we love you." Logan smiled and we nodded in agreement.
"Yeah! And if you need anything, we're here." Roxanne promised reassuringly and Blanca sighed in relief.
"Thanks, I love you bitches." She beamed, smiling like everything was back to normal. Suddenly, a surprised look appeared on Blanca's face as she glanced behind us before it turned into a smug look. "Girls, am I crazy or is that really Haydn at a football game?" She asked, causing all of us to turn to the bleachers behind us.
It took me a few seconds to find Haydn and for a second, I thought Blanca was just fucking with me that is until I saw her climbing the steps. She was wearing a long white sleeve shirt under a black graphic shirt and black pants with her hair half up, half down, casual but hot and I wished that I didn't have to cheer because all I wanted to do was drag her back to my house instead.

"I have no idea what she's doing here," I murmured, still distracted by her presence before Blanca spoke up.
"Jeez, that girl is so fucking fine." She said and I rolled my eyes.
"She's also mine and I know how to fight," I smirked proudly, and Blanca laughed.
"Yeah dude, relax, I know she's yours. Besides, I'm not bi or anything- I just know how to appreciate a good-looking girl." She said in defense.
"Sure Jan." Logan laughed, and we burst out laughing as Blanca rolled her eyes.
"Okay, okay." Logan smiled. "Let's get up and start before Coach gets angry." She said as she stood up and pulled me up before we walked to where everyone else was huddled up. "Come on guys, let's start the routine." She said to the rest of the team in her "captain" voice, and we immediately fell into place.

We ended up winning the game, but that wasn't much of a surprise considering we were up against a weaker team, but nonetheless everyone was excited and ready to celebrate.
"So, are you going to come with us to the party at Aaron's house?" Roxanne asked me, obviously speaking for our whole group as they all turned to me expectedly.
"Yeah, and besides, you don't really have much of a choice, since I drove you here." Logan grinned and I sighed, she was right- I had spent the night at her house so we could study together but now she was holding my lift home hostage.
Now see, I was going to agree with them and go to whatever stupid party they wanted me to go to but then I saw Haydn sitting on the hood of her car as she spoke to Jamal, and I changed my mind immediately. As if reading my mind, Haydn looked up and her gaze immediately came crashing into mine and when I saw her eyes light up, I knew that there was no way I was going to go to any stupid party.
"I love you guys, but I think I'm going to go with Haydn." I smiled sheepishly before I hugged them each goodbye.
"I can't believe you're picking her over us." Roxanne pouted and Blanca huffed.
"Do you see her girlfriend?" Blanca asked seriously. "No offence but I would also pick her over us." She said, completely ignoring my 'she's not my girlfriend' comment.
"Guys, honestly, we owe Cris for accidentally ditching her at the last party- so she doesn't have to come to this one," Logan said coming to my rescue and I stuck my tongue out at Roxanne.
"Yeah, I know that's exactly what you're about to go do with Haydn." She replied and my jaw dropped, I didn't know what to say so instead, I just rolled my eyes as Blanca gave her a high-five.
"Enjoy the party guys," I said sarcastically as I waved them goodbye, already headed in the direction of where Haydn was parked.
I ignored Blanca's distasteful catcalls as I reached Haydn and Jamal, Haydn already getting off her car when she saw me coming.
"Hey, Jamal." I smiled as I gave him a quick hug.
"Hey, Cris, you guys looked great out there." He smirked and he looked glanced at Haydn and me. "Oh, so what do you two ladies have planned tonight?" He asked suggestively and I laughed as I saw Haydn turn a light shade of red.

"Okay, goodbye Jamal." She said quickly, hinting for him to leave.
"Bye guys." He smirked at us with a knowing twinkle in his eyes before fist pumping Haydn and waving at me as he retreated to his car.
With Jamal gone, I found myself suddenly in possession of Haydn's undivided attention, and I loved every minute of it.
"Hi." She smiled and I smiled back.
"Hi," I replied before clearing my throat a little. "I thought you didn't come to football games," I commented as I took a step closer to her.
"I don't normally, but I heard that there was going to be this very hot cheerleader performing in a very short skirt and I just couldn't miss it." She smirked at me as she played with one of the ends of my curls and I laughed.
"Which cheerleader? Maybe I know her?" I asked with playful eyes, and she gently shook her head, immediately glancing down at my lips before back to my eyes.
"She's the cheerleader I've been waiting to kiss the whole day." She whispered lowly, goosebumps erupting my skin.
"Can I get a clue?" I murmured and held my breath as Haydn leaned forward gently pecked my lips before pulling away.
"You've been waiting the whole day and that's all I get?" I pouted and she smiled at me before pecking me again.
"Yeah, for now, because I know for a fact you must be hungry after that, so I want to take you to dinner before we move to dessert." She winked before pulling me towards the passenger side, taking my gym and school bags as we did.
"I appreciate the thought, but I really don't wanna go out dressed like this," I complained tiredly, gesturing to my black workout pants, socks and slides and oversized shirt I threw on after the shower.
Don't judge okay, I thought that I was going to go home to either change for a party or stay there- I had no idea I would be going anywhere with Haydn.
"Don't worry, I've got you." She smirked as she placed my bags in the backseat and grabbed her black Frank Ocean hoodie before holding it out to me. "And don't worry we don't have to go out we can always just chill and order a pizza or something." She suggested and I smiled in relief as I pulled on the hoodie, it smelt just like her body spray, it smelt like her.
I just stepped forward and hugged her.
"Hey, Haydn?" I smiled, even though she couldn't see me.
"Mh-hmm." She sighed, her arms tightening around me.
"Thank you for coming to see me cheer, and for waiting for me," I murmured, and she pulled back to look at me before leaning forward and kissing me again- only for a few heartbeats before pulling away.
"Of course, I'd be here Cristina, I'd support anything you do." She shrugged as my heart skipped a beat.
"Do you maybe wanna go to my house and order a pizza? My parents aren't home." I offered hopefully and she nodded her head as she opened the passenger door for me.
It was only on the drive to pick up Chinese food did I gain the courage to take her hand and interlace our fingers, taking complete control of the aux as we sang along (badly might I add) to Roy Woods. Seeing her smiling, singing, with her guard down I knew that I would choose to spend time with Haydn over any party and when we parked in my driveway, I knew I made the right decision.
"You've never actually been inside my house, have you?" I asked Haydn as I unlocked my front door and lead her inside.
"No, just the driveway and the front door." She smiled, looking around as I lead her into the kitchen to put the food down before I dragged her up to my room so I could get rid of my bags.
My room was basically the opposite of Haydn's as pictures and polaroids of my friends, family and artwork completely covered one wall while the others were painted a soft pink. My room was my safe space, my haven and I watched as Haydn looked around my room, stopping to look at my photo wall as I dumped my bags at the foot of my bed.
"You know a lot of people." She smiled and I shrugged as I went to stand behind her, resting my head on my shoulder and I smiled when I felt her lean back into me.
"They're mostly just pictures of Blanca, Logan, Roxanne and I and then me with my family," I explained and when I felt her tense up, I figured I should steer the conversation in a different direction. "So, what movie are we watching?" I asked, turning her towards me.
"I don't know, this is your house, you pick." She shrugged as she put her hands on my hips and I shook my head.
"Nuh, uh, you're the guest- you choose." I smiled and she sighed. "I can do this all day you know." I teased.
"Fine, you win." She sighed. "You want to watch one of my favorite movies ever?"
"Duh." I grinned before I started to pull her towards the stairs so that we could go to the kitchen. "But what movie is it exactly?" I asked.
"Corpse Bride, it's been one of my favorites since I was a kid." She smiled and I grinned back at her as we walked into the kitchen hand-in-hand.
"You're kidding, that's actually one of my favorites too."
"Well, I guess we were meant to be." She smiled as she leaned forward and kissed me, stealing my breath away.
"As nice as this is, we really shouldn't start something we can't finish," I murmured against her lips, and I heard her sigh as she stepped away.
"You're right, my bad." She smiled and I nodded. "Let's warm up some Chinese food and go cuddle on the couch."
"Ugh, you know the way to my heart." I grinned and she smiled.
"I would hope so."
