-Chapter 36 Part 1-- Don't-get-near-me-

-Emma's: Point of View-

It was a long, exhausting day at school. Never would I have thought that school could drain your stamina that way.

Here I am sitting on the bleacher watching Leo and Kevin train their asses off with their team members.

The coach wasn't going easy on them today. He was screaming at everyone for every little thing. Shit, he even screams at the girls to shut them the fuck up.

I, on the other hand, was almost falling asleep. My eyelids are heavy as hell. That every blink that I took was getting heavier to re-open.

A small yawn escapes my lips as I rub my eyes with my palms to wake myself up.

If it weren't for the girls, cheering the boys on, I would have been knocked out on the bleachers by now.

I noticed that the twins would usually stop, look up at me for a few seconds, and then resume their training. It's like they were taking turns checking up on me. If they didn't, I could magically disappear from their sight. I stare at them for a few minutes, then I close my eyes.

This high-pitched whistle cuts through the air, startling me out of my half-asleep daze.

"Okay, boys! See you all tomorrow! "The coach shouts. Many of the players are heading back to the locker/shower room. Many of these girls stood up from the bleachers and made their way towards the guys.

Many of the girls are dressed to impress, some showing more skin than others. I give them props, for actually coming here and patiently waiting for them to finish training.

They know what they want, unlike me. I wish I was as carefree as they were, with no issues lurking in the shadows waiting to devour me at any moment if I let my guard down.

A few girls approach the twins. But they ignored them completely. I am pretty sure they wanted to talk to them. But Kevin and Leo weren't having it. Their eyes had this "Don't-get-near-me" look to them.

It's like they have somewhere to be and can't be bothered with pointless chit-chat. The girls pout at their reaction to them, and I kind of feel bad for them because they looked excited to interact with the guys.

Don't worry, girls, it's better that way. They're both a little crazy—scratch that, they're demented, period. And they also have arrogant girlfriends, so you guys are dodging a bullet without knowing it.

Oh, who am I kidding they're dodging multiple fatal bullets instead.

Before Leo disappears into the locker|shower room, he takes a quick glance up at me. If it wasn't for last night's scenario, I would have been pleased that he is caring about his little sister (aka me) in a sisterly way. Like you normally would do. But since last night's incident, I have been more cautious around him.

Getting too attached to him would blind me. To his true self, he hid behind that warm smile that always makes my heart beat a little faster when it is directed at me.

I don't know how long they took. But it felt like an eternity. The first one to come out was Leo. He had his dark duffle bag in his right hand.

His hair was slightly damp. Some of the girls that were at the bottom of the bleachers attempted to converse with him one more time. But he didn't pay them any mind. He doesn't even bother to look at them at all.

That's so rude.

Instead, he comes straight up to me and says, " Hey, you okay? Emma. "He pushed a stray strand away from my face. My body automatically tensed at his sudden touch. He sits right next to me, with his gaze on me.

My nostrils were invaded by the pleasant faint whiff of his shower gel.

I nodded in response. Not trusting myself with my words. If I talk, I'll sound like a frightened soul.

I look down, wondering—what's taking Kevin so damn much? I want to go home and lock myself in my bedroom until the next day when I have to do everything again. And pretend that everything's fine when it's not.

"Can we go home now? Leo. " A small yawn once again leaves my lips as the ball of my palm rubs my eyes in the process, just attempting to keep myself awake.

"... Yeah, let's go. We can wait for him in the car. "He takes my hand in his big one and guides my half-asleep self down the bleachers.

In no time, we were at the parking lot. Leo was already opening the car door for me to get in.

I quickly took off my heavy bag back and placed it in the seat—then I climbed in. The leather seat rattled beneath my weight as I slid in.

Leo shuts the door gently. Then he goes to the driver's seat and gets in.

I fasten my seat belt on. At this point, my forehead was pressed against the cold glass as my sleepy gaze stayed on Leo's form. Leo took out his phone and sent Kevin a quick text.

Leo doesn't seem happy when Kevin doesn't reply back to his text.

When I saw many of their teammates leaving with some of the girls, we stayed in complete silence for a while. All I could hear was our soft breathing patterns and my own beating heart.

It was getting harder and harder to keep my eyes open.

Why is Kevin taking so freaking long? I swear it felt like half an hour had passed by.

"Where is Kevin?" It's not like I was worried about his whereabouts. I'm just worried that I'll fall asleep here, leaving myself vulnerable in front of them both.

" He's probably coming," Leo replies as he glances down at his lit-up phone screen once more. I see him dial some numbers in and press the phone to his right ear. It was silent for a minute, then he began to speak. "Where the fuck are you? Kevin."

When I heard Leo's sharp voice, my heart halted, afraid that if it made a sound, his attention would be drawn to me.

I couldn't hear what Kevin was saying at all. From here, everything sounded like gibberish.

But by the look on Leo's face in the rearview mirror, it was not good because Leo looked ticked off.

The foggy, dark atmosphere from outside made it even more suffocating to be here. It seemed like it was going to rain.

He gets out of the vehicle and shuts the door softly. He starts pacing back and forth calmly as if he was holding his anger in. The window of the driver's seat is slightly open because I can still hear their conversation.

"Are you fucking being serious right now? If you were going to fuck a bitch, you should have told me or texted back, dude. So I don't have to fucking wait for you here in the car in the parking lot, dumb ass.

What the fuck?—'' He looked like he couldn't believe what he was hearing through the smartphone.

"—It's my fault now... Are you fucking kidding me, right now, Kevin? Because I left with Em—Is that what we're playing at now?

Don't you think that's a little bit childish of you? " Leo dragged a hand down his face in complete frustration.

My spine straightened, detecting Leo's calm expression slowly changing into one of rage. His eyes looked like he was ready to find Kevin and murder him for wasting his precious time on his foolishness.

He stops talking as he listens to Kevin for a few seconds, then he turns his complete attention to me.

Shit, this is not good… Why is Kevin making him mad again?… Does he like being pointed with a gun that bad? Dammit, now I have to be walking on eggshells in front of this guy too…

Please ignore any bad grammar, for now, I'll fix that in the future.

Please leave a comment, I would love to know what you guys think of this chapter. It would keep me more motivated and make me laugh a little.
