-Chapter 26-His greedy dark eyes-
Throughout the whole car ride, my hands wouldn't stop trembling, my nerves got worse as we got further from home… not even the soothing music engulfing the vehicle was helping calm my tensed nerves down.
The nice weather was a contrast to the turmoil racking havoc inside me— my gloomy mood just wouldn't lift, no matter where I drifted my attention to.
My fingers fiddled with the hem of my soft cotton white formal dress. I was beginning to lament not dressing up in a formal white woman pantsuit.
Ms.Nancy told me I didn't look presentable enough in any of them so she opted on buying me a white formal dress, instead. Shopping with her and the twins was so weird… She only spoke to me when she wanted me to put something on or take something off, She didn't even ask if I liked it or not … and she did that to the twins too.
The twins went with the opposite of what their mother wanted for them… Making her have a side glare the whole way back home.
There was no small talk at all. She didn't even seem like she wanted to be there…. So much so that the twins had to take me out to eat some fast food when things got more awkward between their mother and them. Plus, Leo seemed not to have much energy to fix up something for me to eat.
Throughout the whole shopping adventure, the guys were the ones not making it so uncomfortable and bizarre… They kept grabbing my attention for every little thing, especially Leo who made me try on every white dress that he found pretty in the clothing shop.
Oddly enough both their phones were ringing non-stop… or chiming when they got a new text message from someone. Both the twin guys had to mute their smartphones. Whoever was trying to reach out to them chose a bad timing to do so.
The frustration those strangers must feel on the other side of the phone call must not feel good. They are probably agitated about being ignored like that. I could already visualize a frown softly carved on their features as disappointment shines in their eyes.

"We're here…. "Leo parks the vehicle in a free space that another car just reversed out of and proceeded to kill off the engine and take his key out of the ignition.
Kevin of course was the first one to exit the vehicle smoothly, and gently closed the door behind him. I was second to follow behind and Leo was third in exiting the vehicle.
My eyes slightly squinted to the warm ray from the sun that was on full display, today.
Was it really going to rain later? I hope the weather doesn't change on a day like today...
When we entered the beautiful beige old structured courthouse, an enormous shining dark entrance with hints of white came into view. This place was not how I imagined it to look… all dull and dreary.
It was full of life, seeing passersby from all walks of life going to their final destinations. Many came adorned with their best outfits.
Instead of seeing people in washout jeans and plain shirts with hoodies… They were dressed to impress.
Good thing, I heeded to dress up nicely because my first initiative was to come in a big dark hoodie and plain washout jeans with black timberland boots. My fashion sense, as you could notice, was bad… But what could I do? For me, everything looks good if it's comfortable to wear.
My body tenses when I feel a large palm on the small of my back pushing me to step forward.
"Come on now… Don't be scared… remember I'm right here." Leo's comforting words soothed my tense nerves a bit.
Kevin was just studying the enormous place… as if he was searching for something or someone.
Of course, many females and males looked our way as we passed by them… Two attractive tall males in a sea of short people would of course make them stand out like a sore thumb.
They must get their height from their father because Ms. Nancy is short in comparison to them… I'm starting to think that they're not her kids... The more I silently study them from afar when they're not looking…
Both of the twins didn't pay any attention to anyone that showed any interest in their presence … It's like they are used to getting attention from strangers.

My father came into view as he was in front of a guy dressed in a dark green suit with a brown leathery briefcase in his left hand… probably talking about the issue at hand. Ms.Nancy was on the side watching them closely as if she's trying to absorb every information she could obtain from their deep conversation.
Their attention strays away from each other as they shift their attention towards me, making my heart pick up speed.
"Ready!" The guy said without missing a beat. His dark green eyes twinkled with determination to win.
"Ready." I nodded, hoping that things don't go downhill when I'm in front of my demons.

Sitting here quietly was making me more nervous… my mother and her lover weren't anywhere in sight.
People flooded the enormous well-lighted room, settling themselves down in the few rows of long dark brown wooden cushioned benches—Just patiently waiting for the defendants to enter the courtroom.
The judge that looks like he is in his late forties takes his seat in the center of the courtroom on the elevated bench against the center of the white wall… It allows the judge to view the entire courtroom from his seat. As he got everything organized to start the long-awaited trial ahead.
The security guards went to their positions as they eyed everyone in the enormous room... Keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity.
The noisy room goes silent when the double door opens.
My heart stops when I catch a glimpse of my mother… As she passes by with a blank hard look plastered on her face.
She's dressed up in a white jumpsuit as steel cuffs adorned her wrist, her mid-length hair is tied in a ponytail... while her lover followed behind her, dressed in a light orange jumpsuit that is not pleasing to the eye as his dark messy hair slightly covered his eyes. He was chained by his ankles and wrists making him look more dangerous than my mother.
Her lover analyzes the enormous courtroom, searching for someone with eagerness. The room was filled up with low murmurs and whispers... as many spectators eyed my mother and her lover Who didn't show any form of emotions like regret or shame in their dull cold eyes.
My heart picked up speed when my eyes locked with familiar dark sinister bloody ones. A little sick smirk grazed his lips the longer he stared at me. Fear began to build up in my chest the more his dark eyes stayed on me. Even when he is chained like that he causes me to feel powerless and weak.
He licks his lips as his dark eyes travel down my trembling body, making me squirm uncomfortably on my seat.
It's been a long time since this feeling of disgust, nausea, and fear attacked me all at once… not letting me feel anything else but that.
I felt sick to my stomach… wanting nothing more to just evaporate from those lustful-filled dark eyes that are pinned on me.
His sadistic small grin faded when his dark eyes redirected to someone else besides me. A frown took over his features, making me snap my gaze at what he was eyeing with so much rage… Kevin is there with a blank expression plastered on his face as he stares my mother, sick lover, down… As a target, he's ready to eliminate on sight if he gets the chance to.
There's something in those grey stormy eyes that seemed to scream danger, a darkness that could suck you in and leave you in a daze wondering how to get out before you get trapped in it forever.
He wasn't the only one sending him a death glare… his twin was doing the same…. Both of them seemed like they wanted to butcher the guy that's waddling down the rows of long dark cushioned benches filled with spectators.
And something in me told me if they were alone with that guy in a room, he wasn't coming out alive.
