-Chapter 20- The cute laughter that could break a million hearts -
Instead of seating at the dining table, they decided to eat their breakfast in the living room. Before Mr.Roman sent me upstairs to wake up the guys for breakfast, he ruffled my hair a little... Like if he's telling me through that small gesture alone that it is okay to come downstairs and eat with them.
Even though he looks mean... He's very attentive and friendly.
Not wasting time, I quickly made myself up the flight of stairs, and down the long hallway towards my bedroom door.
I stood there like a complete fool... Contemplating if I should go inside and wake them both up or just knock hard enough until they realize it's time to wake up... It was complicated to escape from them a while ago. Leo wouldn't let go of me no matter what I did to make him release me. Kevin on the other hand would pull me back on the bed whenever I got myself free from their arms.
One of them appears to be taking a shower because I could clearly hear the water running. I silently pray that the one who's taking a shower is Kevin and not Leo.
I would rather wake Leo up than his twin brother. Right now, I don't have enough courage to look Kevin in the eyes knowing what I heard last night.
The first thing that caught my eyes when I opened the door was the pleasant warm yellow hue that blanketed the entire bedroom. The white curtains softly shifted a little by the chilly breeze softly invading the warm room.
A breath of relief passes my lips when I detect the light golden strains of hair shiny under the bright warm yellow hue. Leo was tightly hugging the white pillow that I left behind as a decoy to escape from his crushing hug. It seems like he's having one of those bad dreams again.

My footsteps were silent so as not to startle Leo from his peaceful sleep. When I'm close enough to the bed, my hand gently shakes Leo's right shoulder. "Leo, wake up. It's time for-"
In an instant, my body was pulled to the bed and firmly pressed down on it... as a large hand wraps itself around my neck tightly, squeezing the life out of me.
My heartbeat went into overdrive, my ears could hear my heart aggressively thumping out of control, my mind was a mess trying to figure out what was going on.
My wide eyes lock with his half-closed ones... and it seems as if he's trapped in a mental fog. It was like he was half asleep and half-conscious.
"Leo-Leo let go... It's me... Emma, please wake up. "Tears filled my eyes as my fingers desperately tried to peel his tight fingers away from my neck. My legs desperately attempted to shove his enormous bodyweight off me... Yet in the end, it's a failure.
When he finally wakes up from his stupefied haze, His grip on my neck loosens as his brown eyes grow large at the realization of who he's choking to death without mercy.
"I-I thought you were someone else. It just... " He stopped mid-sentence as his eyes landed on my exposed neck. Remorse filled his eyes the more he stared at it.
Jeez, who does he want to choke to death without mercy in his sleep?
A few breaths of air-filled my lungs again relieved that the painful pressure around my windpipe is gone.
He stretches out his hands to grab me but he instead retracts them when he sees me flinch to his closeness.
"Who?"I tried to get him to stop staring at my neck. I wanted him to also exterminate the curiosity and questions that he has planted inside me.
Like... Who he was trying to eliminate from the face of the earth?
And what did that person do to him to have him like this to a point of wanting to kill them? Whoever this person is... I feel sorry for you.
"No one... Sorry. " He gets off of me and off the mattress as his fingers brush his disheveled hair away from his face. I quickly set up on the mattress as my right hand subconsciously rubbed my neck.

My attention pulled to the bathroom door when the water stopped.
In a few seconds, Hot mists of steam poured out the bathroom door when it opened up. Kevin steps out with a white towel wrap securely around his waist. His dark hair was dripping wet like he came out in a hurry... It seems like he was going to come and wake up his brother.
In an instant, His attention was drawn to me. He cocks his head slightly to the right, with a lifted eyebrow "Weren't you supposed to be downstairs eating your breakfast already, Emma ?"
My head nods as my eyes drop down to my shaky hands, unable to keep a straight face when he is dressed like that.
"Then you should hurry up and go downstairs, Emma." He didn't have to tell me that twice. I hurriedly got off the bed and made myself to the door but before I even put my hand on the doorknob, Leo's voice halted me.
"Wait..."
I turn around slowly, expecting something else to go wrong.
"You're missing a slipper... The other slipper is here. "My cheeks warm-up in embarrassment as my eyes widen in size when I see that he has a white bunny slipper in his left hand.
I looked down just to see if they were mine... And unfortunately, they were...
A deep-throated laugh erupted throughout the quiet bedroom, making my eyes navigate themselves towards the source of the infectious warm laughter that could break a million hearts.
It's like my brain couldn't correlate the image of his warm genuine laughter with the bad impression that he imprinted on himself in my mind into one. There's no reason for Kevin to look so beautiful when he laughs so wholeheartedly like that.
From the corner of my eyes, I could see a soft small smile grace Leo's lips as he stared at his brother who still seemed entertained by the awkward situation that was unfolding right in front of him.
Seeing them this relaxed made my throbbing heart ease a little bit in speed.
Leo makes himself to me, and without saying a word he gets on one of his knees and proceeds to grab my bare feet and place my feet inside my white slipper.
"You should have let her go downstairs like that... It would have been funnier to see her return for her slipper with a mortified look on her face." He laughs even harder when he sees me glaring at him.
Kevin will always be Kevin.
Leo blocked my vision from Kevin when he stood up to his full height. My glare instantly vanished when my eyes connected with his dark ones.
Leo sneaked his hand around my waist and grabbed the doorknob behind me. The door opened as he gestured to me to step out of the room" Go eat before the food gets cold, We'll be downstairs in 15 minutes. Okay? "
I nod my head as I begin to step out of the bedroom without saying a word. The door closed shut behind me and my footsteps halted altogether as I analyzed everything that just happened in a span of a few minutes.
Good thing, I didn't wake Leo up... When he came back home drunk a few weeks ago because if I did I would have died in such a painful way.
"What did you do to her that she's like that? " I could still hear him even though I'm out here.
"Nothing," Leo says.
"Come on man, spill it so I could do it to her next time."Their voices faded when I quickly made myself down the hall. Not wanting to overhear any of their conversations again.
The only emotions that were attacking me right now were embarrassment and fear. Fear because I almost was choked to death and embarrassment for acting like a complete spooked fool in front of them.

Limitless Adaptation
Jamie, 19, was walking into the kitchen for dinner when he suddenly found himself walking down a street in another world, a world with a game system. There, he meets a half-dragon, half-human named Adam, who faces adversity in most places, because of his parentage, and not long after they meet, the two of them are forced to leave town, due to Adam's beast nature. In the world of Tielmar, there are species of all varieties, a Class exists for nearly everything, and Skills come in quite a few forms. Jamie starts off with a Skill called "Limitless Adaptation", which supposedly allows him to adapt to any need, but is it really as powerful as it sounds? And more importantly - can it help him survive in a world where his first friend is a reject in all communities? Will Jamie, Adam, and the other friends and teammates they make in their journey find peace, allies, and love? Or will they fall to the powerful Adventurers that soon begin to hunt their team, to claim the bounties on several of its members, a bounty Jamie himself quickly finds on his own head? All of Book 1 is now posted, and Limitless Adaptation is officially done with the decision to rewrite. Credits for the cover go to me. Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
