-Chapter 9 part 4--Would Dad hate me-
They had already finished their training, and we were back in the car. This time it was Leo driving us back home. Kevin was next to him talking. Both were engrossed in their conversations about a party they were going to go to afterward. When they drop me off at home. Both their hair was slightly damp. They were back in their casual clothes. Their lovely, soft aroma from their body wash filled the small space.
It's like they just rushed to take a quick shower, coming out quickly, just to not leave me there too long alone on the bleachers.
All that I hope is that their mother was not home.
There's something about her... That doesn't let me think straight when I'm in front of her.
When Leo parks the car, both of the brothers get out.
I open the door to get out, but Kevin stops me.
"Nope, it's my turn to carry you, little Toy," he whispers to me amusingly, his dark gray eyes filled with mischief.
I gulped as he pulled me towards him, making me straddle his torso as he used his forearm to support me.
I wrap my arms around his neck, scared that he'll drop me and make it seem like an accident in front of Leo.
I never know what is actually going through his dark mind.
I looked for Leo, and he was leaned back against the car talking with someone on the phone.
Whoever he is talking to on the phone, I feel sorry for the other person on the other line. Leo wasn't having it today. He looked so pissed off. Even his harsh words reached my ears.
I wonder who he's talking to in such a harsh tone.
I hear Kevin unlock the front door. We enter inside not missing a beat. Kevin takes me to my room, not even waiting for Leo to come in.
He made his way up the stairs and started talking to me in a playful manner " Did you know that somebody was thrown down these exact same stairs a few years ago, "when he said that with so much amusement, I automatically wrapped my legs and arms tighter around him. Not letting him even think about throwing me down the damn stairs.

"Don't worry, I like my dolls intact... sometimes." He laughs as he takes me to my bedroom. When we are inside, he throws me on the bed with no hesitation.
I hissed in pain.
This bastard, I hope he gets hit by a car and dies.
I sit up quickly out of reflex, already preparing for anything that could happen next.
With Kevin, I couldn't let my guard down for a split second. He always finds a way to hurt me. It has become his second nature to do so.
Then I hear high heels clicking against the wooden floor, coming this way.
Ms. Nancy is home.
I glare up at Kevin, seeing that little smile on his face. What is he planning now? He was looking at me like an idea had popped into his head.
Those dark eyes of his narrowed down at me with wicked intent in those eyes as a bigger smile overtook his face.
Before he could even put the idea into motion, I quickly tried to get away from him, but he grabbed me by my thighs and pulled me towards him.
He leans down and starts kissing me, forcefully. I tried to get him off of me by punching him with my fist anywhere that I could hit him.
Yet, he eventually grabs both my hands and pins them down on either side of my face as he continues to forcefully kiss me.
His lips were harsh but also soft on mine. making my heart pound like crazy in my rib cage—as if my poor heart was trying to jump out of my chest.
The clicking of the high heels came to a stop, as did my poor heartbeat. A thunderous, strong female voice interrupts him from continuing his assault on my lips.
"What the hell are you doing?" The moment Kevin hears his mother's voice, he slows down on the harsh kiss, and then he stops. He gives me a final peck on the lips as he gets off of me.
I look up at him. He had this... smile of accomplishment on his face.

It was as if he had planned this to happen all along.
To make his mother see this, to make her hate me.
She walked up to both of us, and I froze in place. Not wanting to move a single muscle, trying to make myself seem smaller than I actually am.
Paralyze… Frozen in time...
The only things moving were my heartbeat, the tears streaming down my face, and the shaking, harsh breath coming out of my quivering lips.
But instead of her coming directly to me, she just goes directly towards Kevin, ignoring my presence as if I wasn't even here with them, witnessing everything.
She didn't hesitate to smack the living soul out of him. It was like she had done this a thousand times before.
No wonder he had that cut on his lips this morning. Now he has a new one.
I just wonder, what did he do to her yesterday to receive a slap from his mother?
Kevin touches his lips and smiles.
"What did I do wrong? Mother," he asked with so much humor, as if he wanted her to hit him again.
Really... What the hell is wrong with this guy?
Ms. Nancy narrows her hard, cold gaze at him. It's like she wanted to hurt him really badly but couldn't because I was here watching them.
I sit up, wiping my lips as I gaze up at Kevin. What the hell is wrong with him... that he likes to piss his mother off?
"What... can't I have fun, Nancy? I was just showing her something—" He couldn't finish his sentence when she slapped him again, this time harder.
I winced at the sound that came out of that action alone.
I could see a pink handprint forming on Kevin's face.
Damn, how hard is she hitting him?
He does deserve it, but if he gets treated like this, what will happen to me when she remembers I'm here?
I started to tremble in fear. Would she lock me up in the dark basement like my mother?
No... No... She's not my mother, she's... different. She is just trying to punish him for what he's done. I tried to convince myself, but my heart was telling me otherwise.
Kevin starts laughing hysterically as Ms. Nancy's frown grows more noticeable on her face.
"Yo, Kevin. What the fuck is taking you so damn long? We're going to be late. " Leo walks into the bedroom with his eyes glued to his phone screen.
When he finally looks up, he becomes paralyzed on the spot. "What the Fuc—" his mother turns to Leo and says without any hesitation, "TAKE HIM BEFORE... Before, I KILL HIM." She walks out of the bedroom, just leaving me there with both of them.
Kevin turns to me and smiles, "Thanks, sis, for the delicious treat." He walks past Leo and exits the room without saying another word.
Leaving me alone with a shocked and confused Leo, who was still trying to figure out what had just happened, he quickly walked up to me, not wasting any more time dwelling in his thoughts. "He's really pushing it," he says as he examines me for any other damage.
His eyes are ranking all over my body. Without saying another word, he hugs me. My breath gets caught in my throat from his sudden action.
"I'm so sorry, I-I didn't know he was going to..." He tightly hugs me closer to him, as he puts his face in the crook of my neck.
But all I could think about now was... How would my father react if he heard about this from Ms. Nancy?
Would Dad hate me?

Fire and Blood
There are a lot of stories about people reborn into a fantasy world but most such individuals seem to be young, inexperienced and forced to start from the bottom up. But who attempts to summon a nobody, expending vast magical power to do so? What if there is an effort to summon a champion of the celestial host and strip them of their free will, binding them by their True Names only to be foiled as they vacate themselves to follow possession by another? What if the one summoned from something approximating our own world is a veteran in her thirties who now finds herself in a form alien, powerful, but far from invulnerable? It involves a whole lot of fire.
