I had to go to the emergency room with an earache one day with my mom. Now, I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this, but she has horrible hearing.

We were waiting to be called in and over the speakers they called for Barry.

Mom turned to me and said, "Oh, that's you."

I narrowed my eyes at her and said, "No, Mom, I'm KC."

She muttered something about how low the volume of the speakers were and returned to her complimentary magazine.

Later, the nurses called for Genesis. Mom turned to me, about to tell me to go.

I interrupted her, shaking my head, and said, "No, Mom. I'm not Genesis."
