Fuck him! I got out of bed, infuriated by Stephon. He's a lying, manipulating asshole! An unexpected sharp pain cramped in my stomach and I lurched over, holding on to the rim of the dresser for support.
It felt as if my stomach was turning in knots with a stabbing pain. I moaned out and moved over slowly to the bedroom door, dragging my feet along the way.
The pain increased rapidly causing me to grit my teeth. What is happening? My stomach suddenly contracted and something trickled out of my ass and down my legs. I glanced down and my face blanched in recognition.
It was blood.
The pain got hotter and hotter within seconds and I hollered out for Drakos.
I called out for him repeatedly, crying tears when I couldn't stem my trembling and withstand the searing pain any longer.
Drakos came bombarding into the room with fear written all over his features. The blood was outright pouring out, soaking my pants and the carpet. My vision blurred and I felt lightheaded.
"Please..." I begged weakly. He was in front of me in seconds, taking me in his arms without a second thought.
"Falcon! Falcon!" Drakos hurried out of the room and down the hall where Falcon came rushing towards him, gasping in shock at the copious amount of blood I was losing.
"I have to fly with him to my private doctor. I'm afraid I won't make it in time by car." Drakos said fearfully.
"You can't shift until you are in an isolated open space," Falcon shook his head, not agreeing with Drakos' statement. "It's not safe even though you can cloak yourself."
"Falcon I do not have the time, hell, Asche doesn't either!" He pushed past Falcon and nearly flew down the stairs at the speed he was going at. Stephon was brooding in the living room when Drakos entered the space in a hurry.

Stephon shot up to his feet with alarm and went over to Drakos who was collecting his car keys and exiting the penthouse. "Oh my goodness what happened?"
I distinctly heard the sounds of their voices but it was a distant echo in my ears as I shifted in and out of consciousness. It was Stephon's last comment that I heard before I was swallowed by darkness, "It's all my fault."

"Don't bloody touch me!" I snarled at my brother from where I stood in the waiting room. Blind, white rage took over me and I couldn't see nor think straight.
Why the fuck did I suggest for him to speak with Stephon? They were at each others throats, word for word. I heard them upstairs bickering but I chose to leave them to their privacy. Now look, he's probably miscarrying our child!
I paced the room as Falcon's eyes followed my actions with worry. Stephon sat in one of the chairs worrying at his lips with a tearstained face. He sniffled, drawing Falcon's attention, who went over and sat down beside him and brought him in his arms soothingly.
"Don't cry, baby. It's not your fault."
Stephon buried his face in Falcon's chest and wailed. Falcon sighed and stroked his back. The only thing Falcon was able to do was console him.
I feared we didn't make it in time. I drove past the speed limit but thankfully I wasn't stopped by a traffic cop. Asche's pants was completely soaked through and his skin was ghastly pale. It even looked as if he were barely breathing. I raked a trembling hand through my crimson hair, resting my forehead against the glass that overlooked the hospital's courtyard.
If anything happened to them, I couldn't continue on. My dragon and I would be devastated. Asche meant more to me than my life did. It may have been just several weeks from our first meeting yet it felt like forever and from the first time I laid his eyes on him, I knew we were destined to be together.

Even if he loses our child, I wouldn't mind. Once Asche lived on that's all that's important. There will still be an opportunity for him to conceive. But potentially losing our unborn child as well still made my heart ache. Misery really loves company.
Doctor Reynolds walked into the room with a grim expression and I nearly fell to my knees in agony but I kept myself upright and tried my best not to break down into an emotional mess. Falcon and Stephon glanced at the man dressed in a white lab coat, covering blue scrubs with anxiety.
"Doctor, please, is he alright?" I crossed over to him with pleading eyes, clinging to hope.
"He lost a lot of blood and we're giving him a blood transfusion right now. He's weak and won't be able to see any visitors at this present time. He's one lucky fellow, if you were a minute later, he would not have survived."
I breathed a sigh of relief. But the doctor's grim expression lingered and my heart sank in my chest. "And our child?"
He shook his head and I felt my soul shatter. Stephon groaned then started outright sobbing. Falcon took on a wretched expression, gripping Stephon tighter.
"I'm so sorry, Mr. Armander. He had already miscarried when you brought him here. We will perform a ultrasound to confirm. Once again, you have my sincerest apologies. Please excuse me, I'll get the ultrasound machine ready."
I stood there staring blankly at the spot where the doctor once stood, feeling cold and bereft. I was relieved that Asche survived but now when I'm faced the revelation, I couldn't contain my raging emotions. My eyes stung with tears and my throat constricted painfully. I spun away and strode out of the waiting room, feeling the deep, anguished cry of my dragon. Falcon called after me but I ignored him. Stephon needed him more.
If I stayed, I'll be in tears and I didn't want Falcon to witness me in such a vulnerable state.
I needed fresh air. My dragon itched to broke free and transform. Flying would clear my mind but I couldn't do that right now, I didn't want to be too far away from Asche.
When I got outside, I scurried over to my BMW, fell to my knees and wept.
The pain of loss was unbearable.
