I feel nervous as I look out through the window of the car. Me and Julia are on our way to the airport to meet up with Christina and Charles and I should be happy, but I'm just scared. What if they changed their minds? What if they hate me? I try to take deep breaths as I realise that we are getting closer and closer to or destination. We eventually park the car and Julia struggles with paying for the parking lot before we walk towards the entrance.

''Are you okay?'' Julia asks, putting her hand on my shoulder.

''Yeah,'' I say, nodding. ''Just nervous.''

''I understand. This is not easy, dude.''

We walk towards one of the many rows of benches in the airport and I decide to ask Charles which gate he's at before sitting down. Suddenly, I feel how Julia pushes me lightly.

''What-'' I start, annoyed before realising who's sitting on the bench in front of me, looking at his phone. Right, he has going to move to LA. I can't even realise that I'm once again face to face with my crazy ex boyfriend before Julia stands up and walks towards him.

''How can you lay your fucking hands on a girl?'' She screams, making Tyler and everyone else look at my furious best friend. I immediately stand up and run over to Julia, trying to calm her down. I don't want to create a scene.

''What the fuck? Why do you guys stalk me?'' Tyler asks, standing up so that he is looking down at Julia who is a bit shorter than him, but not much.

''Answer my fucking question!'' Julia screams even louder and I realise that everyone around us look at us as if we just killed someone together.

''Calm down!'' I say, trying to stand inbetween Julia and Tyler, but Julia pushes me back, keeping me behind her.

''Look at you, trying to defend your friend,'' he says with a laugh. ''Why can't I talk to Ember? We are the only ones who know what happened between us.''

He tries to get to me, but Julia pushes him backwards from her.

''You are not touching her! I won't let you anywhere near her ever again! Not after what you did!''

Suddenly, a big man with blue clothes shows up from nowhere. A security guard.

''What's going on here?'' He says with a deep voice. He is almost as wide as tall with dark hair and small eyes. I take a deep breath and decide to let Julia talk. She is amazing at convincing people, it's almost scary.

''Well, this is my best friend Ember and her ex boyfriend Tyler. They were in a toxic relationship where he hurt her several times and he is now trying to get revenge on her. We think that he followed her here to do something to her,'' she lies and Tyler's reaction is priceless.

''That's not true!''

''Okay! We can't rule this out right now. I don't care about teenage drama. Let's get you two away from each other,'' the man says, putting his hand on Tyler's shoulder before walking away with him.

''You will pay for this,'' Tyler mumbles as he walks past me.

I sit down on the bench again, sighing before burying my face in my hands. This is insane. I don't have time to think about what's going on, because I hear a familiar voice once again, but this time a good one.

''Ember!'' Charles gentle voice says from a small distanse. I put on a fake smile and stand up before approaching him and Christina. They are both wearing sweatpants which looks hilarious considering that they literally wear leather jackets to sleep.

''Don't say anything about Tyler,'' I mumble to Julia.

When my new parents reach me, Charles wraps his arms around me in a hug.

''Hey! How are you?'' He says, making me feel comforting. It feels like someone actually cares about me.

''I'm good thank's, how are you?'' I ask with a smile.

''I'm good, but my back hurts from the flight. It's hard to sit down for so long when you're an old man like me.''

I hug Christina as well.

''Ember, it's so nice to see you!'' She says.

''You too!'' I really like Christina. Even though I'm not as close to her as I am with Charles, she is a good person. She wants to do well and I admire that so much. Julia reaches her hand out to introduce herself with a big smile.

''Hi, my name is Julia and I'm Ember's friend,'' she says, shaking both of their hands.

''Nice to meet you, Julia,'' Christina says with a smile. It seems like they will get along well.

We all walk towards Julia's car. She will drive us to my old house and then Charles and Christina will have to move all their stuff into it. It will probably take a hundred years for everything to get done, but it feels good to stay at my place. Christina and Charles keep talking about the flight and I add to the conversation even though me mind is somewhere else right now. I keep thinking about my family. I will be reminded of them every single day. I will be reminded of the fact that I couldn't save my mom. I wasn't brave enough. I wasn't good enough...
