《parties // billie eilish》Chapter 72: The secret

It takes a while, but the plane eventually lands and I can finally breath. Billie pats my back as the passengers walk past us to exit the veichle. I wish that I could be excited to be in Los Angeles again, but I just can't think about anything positive right now. Everytime I close my eyes, Travis appears in front of me and I can't do anything without thinking about him. I try force the thoughts away as I feel how they start to control me and that's the last thing I need right now.
"Let's go," Billie says as the last passengers exit the plane.
Quietly, we make our way out of the plane after making sure that we got everything. This feels so weird. This wasn't how the trip was supposed to go at all, and I feel like shit for bringing Billie with me. My fingers are intertwined with hers as we walk through the airport to get our bags, giving me a feeling of comfort as she brushes her thumb against my palm. I look around in the big building that I've been in much the last months. The roof is made of glass and the sun is desperately trying to shine through the thick material. Three guys look stressed as they run through the airport, probably on their way to some vacation where they will relax and have the best time of their lives. I wish that it was me.
Eventually, we get our bags and exit the airport, waiting for Billie's mom to pick us up with her car. As we sit down on a bench, I get flashbacks from when we did the same in Chicago and I got attacked by my pshychopath ex. As I think about the fact that he's going to live here soon makes me shiver because I already have enough shit to worry about right now. I take a deep breath, trying to focus on what matters the most, Travis.

After a while, Billie's mom shows up and we enter the car, thanking her for driving us. As I take care of my seatbelt, I expect Billie to bring up everything with Travis, but she just seems to avoid taht topic. She gives me aa knowing look as I look at her in confusion. She probably doesn't want me to tell her that Travis is gone.
''How did everything go?'' Maggie suddenly asks, looking at me in the mirror.
''It went well. My uncle Charles is going to move here, so I'm gonna live with him,'' I explain, trying to sound happy and excited, but Billie's signals just make me confused.
''Really? That's amazing!'' She says, smiling as I nod in agreement but my eyes are locked at Billie, trying to understand why she doesn't wanna tell Maggie what's going on. Well, BIllie is way smarter than me so I guess that she has a good reason not to.
After a while, Billie's mom drops me and Billie off at Julia's house, where we are going to talk about everything. As I walk up to the door, I feel really nervous. Not because I don't like Julia or Kevin, I'm just always nervous for random things because I got a beautiful disorder called anxiety! I can't even knock on the door before it opens up and Kevin runs outside with Julia behind him, hugging me tightly.
''Man, I've missed y'all so much,'' he says, making me smile before hugging him tighter.
''We've missed you too, Kev,'' I say as he hugs Billie. I can tell that he's broken from our best friends disapperance, just like us. As Julia hugs me, I sigh deeply, being happy that I've finally reunited with my friends.
''How did it go?'' Julia asks, referring to my confusing family situation and I take a deep breath before answering.
''Charles and Christina are moving here, so that's the good news,'' I explain, making her smile but I can tell that she's obviously curious if there are any bad news.

''But... Tyler is moving here too,'' I sigh, making her gasp.
''Wait, what? Tyler? T-y-l-e-r?'' Julia asks in disbelief and I nod, sucking in my lips.
''Who the fuck is Tyler?'' Kevin asks in confusion.
''Her pshycho ex-boyfriend,'' Billie explains as Julia is still confused about the fact that he is moving here.
''Oh,'' Kevin says. ''Let's beat him up. Or something,'' he says, making me chuckle slightly.
''Let's talk about that later, we gotta talk about the most important thing,'' Julia says, leading us into her house that I've missed a lot. As we enter the kitchen, I can see that Julia and Kevin have already planned this conversation because there are papers and pens all over the wooden table, probably to help us plan something. We all sit down and Kevin lets out a deep sigh.
''There's no one home, right?'' Billie asks, making Julia shake her head.
''Okay, so I got the message here,'' Billie says, putting the paper with the handwritten message in the middle of the table as we all lean forward, looking at it.
"This is so insane," Kevin finally says, shaking his head.
"I know, but we have to figure something out. Where have you guys looked for him?" Billie asks.
"Everywhere," Kevin says, burying his face in his hands as Julia rubs his back to comfort him.
"Let's just call the police, please!" Billie says in desperation, making Kevin shoot his head up.
"We can't do that," he says immediately.
"Please, Kev. We need them to find him!" She says, trying to convince the brown haired guy.
"We don't!" He says and Billie suddenly stands up, walking towards Kevin.
"What did you do to him?" She asks, crossing her arms as I can tell that she becomes mad.
"What?!" Kevin asks loudly, furrowing his eyebrows before standing up. "Do you think that I killed my best fucking friend?"
"It looks sucpicious when you don't want to call the police!" She says, defending herself.
"You're insane," he says, shaking his head in disbelief before turning around and walking upstairs.
"I'm going to talk to him," Julia mumbles, giving Billie a glare before walking upstairs to het boyfriend.
"That was necessary!" I say, sarcasticly with a sigh.
"Didn't you see how weird he was acting?" She snaps, making me shake my head.
"Do you think that he should be acting normal when his best friend could be dead? Do you think that he fake cried in that phone call? Do you think that he faked the letter that was written in Travis handwriting?'' I ask, shaking my head once again.
''I don't know. But something is fishy about it,'' she mumbles.
''Well, now he probably hates you so I think that you should go and apologize to him. Now.''
''Fine.''
Billie exits the kitchen as Julia enters the room, sitting down in one of the chairs.
''Are they going to talk?'' Julia asks as I nod.
''Yeah, is that okay?'' I asks, suddenly realising that Kevin maybe wants some space.
''I guess,'' she shrugs. ''We all need to stay close if we're going to solve this.''
''You're right. Where were we?'' I ask, making her look at the note again.
''I was thinking that it's way too hard to just find him. We need to contact someone who could know or at least help us,'' she says, making me raise my eyebrows.
''Like the police?'' I ask.
''Exactly.''
''But Kevin said-''
''Kevin doesn't have to know.''

Ana resisted the urge to peek once more as she heard him move around."Better yet who the hell are you," he bit back sharply and she resisted the urge to flinch at the unnecessarily harsh tone."Do you live here?"
