《parties // billie eilish》Chapter 62: It's been way too long

I get off the motorbike, being thankful for not throwing up again or something. After Christina unlocks the door, me and Billie enter the small house again and I head straight upstairs while coming up with an excuse about going to the bathroom. As I enter the small bedroom, I collapse onto the bed, trying to focus on something else than the pain in my stomach. After a while, I feel more and more exhausted as I hear footsteps approaching me.
"You gotta brush your teeth and get ready, babe," Billie says, making me groan and tur around in the bed.
"I don't care," I mumble into the pillow, making her grab my arm, pulling me up so I'm standing. Hestitantly, I let her lead me into the bathroom with a hand on my back. When I look at my reflection in the mirror, I discover two dark circles under my eyes, making me cringe a bit.
After brushing my teeth and washing my face, Billie finally lets me rest as I lay down on the bed once again. Sometimes, she behaves like a mom, but I don't have problem with her taking care of me. As I stretch my arms, Billie lays down in the bed next to me, wrapping an arm around my stomach.
"You feel better?" She asks.
"Yeah," I answer, but my voice sounds really strained.
"Hold on," she says before standing up and running out from the room as I hear her disappear downstairs. After a while, she comes back with a glass of water, reaching it out to me.
"Thank you," I say with a smile as I grab the glass, raising it to my mouth. I relax when I feel the cold liquid sooth my throat.
''You are so stupid,'' she says with a laugh.
''I'm not,'' I say, defending myself while she sits up, resting her face in her hand.
''You are, but I can't say that I'm not impressed, I've never seen anyone who eats that fast,'' she says with a chuckle.

''I'm hungry,'' I complain, making her hum in agreement.
''Wanna go on a walk and buy something at the grocery store that we passed on our way to the restaurant?'' She suggests, making me smile before nodding.
''Sure, I just gotta rest some more,'' I say, putting my hand on her arm that's laying across my stomach.
After a while, me and Billie decide to leave the small house, telling Charles and Christina that we are going on a walk because I don't have the heart to tell them that we will buy food, they would think that the trip to the restaurant was for nothing.
As Billie and I reach the small dirt road, I just stop to look up at the sky. It's almost summer and the sky is a special kind of blue. It looks like dark water that you can barely see your reflection in but your eyes are stuck at it. I take a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the fresh air that I haven't felt in a while. There's nothing better than being outside. Everything changes in my life, but the nature will remain the same and that's a comforting feeling for me.
I jog over to Billie after returning to reality, grabbing her hand as she smiles before intertwining our fingers. She swings our hands back and forth, grinning widely as I start to laugh.
"I love this," she says, her eyes locked on the road in front of her.
"Love what?" I ask curiosly while looking at her, admiring her beauty.
"This," she simply says, her eyes turning to me. "No stress, no fucking work, just being here with you. This just calms me down in a way that I can't explain."
I keep quiet for a while, taking in her words as we keep walking.
"I feel the same way," I finally say, making her look at me while smirking slightly.
"Yeah? We should do this more often then."

"Go to Chicago to meet an unkown relative?" I ask with a chuckle.
"Exactly," she jokes before wrapping her arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to her as we walk.
After a while, we reach the small black building with a sign were it says "supermarket". As we approach it, I see how the few people that are there looks at Billie, whispering things to each other and it makes me nervous.
"Fuck," Billie mumbles quietly, removing her arm from my shoulders, making my heart drop even though I know why she's doing this. I really hope that we will manage to show everyone our relationship one day, but I'm too nervous to bring it up.
As we enter the small store, Billie immediately walks over to the shopping cart, pulling it out.
''Get in,'' she simply says, nodding at the cart.
''What the fuck are you talking about?'' I ask in disbelief.
''Just get the fuck in, it will be fun,'' she says and I shake my head.
''Billie, they will-'' I start, but Billie cuts me off by grabbing my thighs and lifting me up. As I squirm, trying to get away from her she puts me down in the cart, laughing in triumph before starting to push it.
''Okay, just don't go fast, okay?'' I say with a nervous voice.
''It doesn't sound like that in the bedroom, though,'' she says, making me gasp.
''Shut the fuck up,'' I whisper yell, not wanting anyone in the store to hear our conversation but she just smirks at me. I roll my eyes before looking at the grocerys of the shelfes as Billie pushes the cart through the small store.
''So, what do you want to eat?'' Billie suddenly asks, making me realise how hungry I actually am.
''Doesn't matter, really,'' I answer. ''There are salads over there, though.''
Billie turns around to where I look, smiling when she sees the big range of salads by the corner of the store, pretty close to the disk. I grin at her cuteness as she pushes the cart towards the food.
''Yo, look at this shit, I'm going to eat all of it,'' Billie says, licking her lips as she picks up one of the plastic boxes, inspecting the content of it. Right now, I'm so hungry that I could eat anything, so I don't think before grabbing one of them. It's pretty messy, but I see that it contains cucumber and lettuce, which is okay. As Billie keeps choosing between the salads, I look around impatiently, hoping that no one will notice us.
After a while, Billie manages to find a salad that she likes and we can finally return to the small house. The walk home is not that bad as me and Billie talk about everything between heaven and earth.
''Remember when we first met?'' Billie asks, making me blush a bit as the memories from this winter come back.
''How could I forget?'' I ask, making her look away while smiling.
''What was your first impression of me?'' She asks, fiddling with the rings on her fingers and taking them off before putting them on again.
''You were hot,'' I say with a laugh.
''So I'm not hot anymore?'' She asks.
''Nah,'' I answer.
''You're such a dick, you know that right?'' She says with a chuckle, hitting my arm.
''Yeah. Trust me, I know.''
We sit down on a wooden bench, starting to eat our salads as people walk past us. As I stab a piece of lettuce with my fork, I hear a familiar, but still unfamiliar voice that makes me tense.
"It has been way to long, babe."
