Just as the device was about to explode, every single agent and henchmen, including a few stray Shadow and Ghost henchmen that were still alive and Ryan managed to make it to a small hill outside the Authority's walls, which were also showing signs of collapsing.
A loud, deafening explosion erupts from the top of the Authority, shocking everyone as the wind and storm continues to worsen.
The agents look in horror as the walls begin breaking down to the bottom of the river and the building goes up in flames, knowing that there are a lot of dead henchmen, Shadow and Ghost, inside being burnt to a crisp.
"He did it. There's no way Chaos Agent survived an explosion like that..." Meowscles breaths, still clutching Sophie in his arms.
"But... bossman...where is he?" Skye asks, looking atop the building for a glimmer of hope. Everyone exchanges concerned and worried glances.
Could he be gone? For real this time?
"No. No! I don't believe it." Jules shouts, struggling to cope with the feeling of despair inside her. "I just got him back! I can't lose him a second time!! Midas!!"
She runs to the riverbed, crying out his name, praying she'll hear a response from Midas.
"Midas!! Say something!! Please!!"
"Brother please!! This isn't funny!! Come out!!"
She slowly begins to break down into tears as the possible reality hits her.
"Please... I've waited 14 years to see you again... don't leave me without saying goodbye again..." The others walk down to Jules and comfort her.
As the group falls silent, the purple storm clouds dissipates and fades as a new warm sunlight washes over the island despite the somber state.
However, Skye suddenly notices a mask landing near them after being thrown over the river. Not any old mask:

Chaos Agent's mask, coated in gold like a trophy.
Looking over the river, she sees a figure with shimmering golden hands.
"Is that!!-"
Sure enough, the group look over and see the figure swimming over to them.
He wears very torn and burnt clothing, but despite the blood and ink on his face, he has a proud and relieved smile on it.
"Kept you worrying about me, hm?" Midas hums.
"Midas!!" Jules shouts, throwing her arms around him, sobbing grossly. He hugs her back tightly, smiling.
"There there, little sister. I'm okay, just tired..." He coos, patting her back.
The others join in on the hug, turning it into a group hug, bubbly smiles on their faces.
"We thought we lost you! Again, bossman!" Skye whimpers, wiping her eyes.
"I'm not going anywhere Skye, I can promise you that." He responds, patting her shoulder.

Everyone, including the Shadow henchmen left, eventually make it back to the Fortilla. However, whilst they were all gone, a chunk of the place had detached itself and floated off out to sea. The chunk that had some of the bedrooms and the medical room.
"Looks like we're going to have to make do with what we've got left then." Ocean laughs awkwardly. Midas nods, turning to Remedy and Meowscles.
"You two, get Soph to a room and check on her. The rest of you, settle down for now and relax. I need to be alone for a while..."
With Chaos Agent's mask in hand, Midas strides away to his office, closing the door.
He looks around the place. Looking down at the mask, he sighs in relief.
"So... it's finally over, isn't it?" Midas hums, putting the mask on a hook. "You're not coming back this time, are you? Not with some kind of sneak attack eh?"

He chuckles at the thought of Chaos Agent's restless spirit coming back to haunt him.
That would be ridiculous, wouldn't it?
Sitting down in his desk chair again, he leans back, humming to himself. A lightbulb goes off in his head as he gets an idea. Pulling out a pen and paper, he begins writing something:
'Dear mother.
I'm so sorry. I know how long it has been since you last heard from me. When I left, it was like you just faded from my memory. But I hope that this simple letter reaches you.
You've probably heard about the Ghost and Shadow war going on. I mean, me and Jules were both born during it. But I can tell you I became the leader of the Ghost Agency back in February 5 years ago.
It's been hard. Running an organization all by yourself, it can stress you out quickly. That's the one thing I never took care of:
Myself.
But, I met this kid. She aspired to be an agent. But at the same time, she's changed me in a good way.
Me and Jules have reconciled, and she told me how you were. I even convinced her to divert to Ghost!
At the time I'm writing this, I'm pleased to inform you that, with my agents and henchmen, the war between Ghost and Shadow has ended. From now and forever, hopefully, there will be peace on the island. It's all I can ask for after all we've been through.
And... about dad... I'm sorry for what I did. I was merely defending myself and trying to save you. But, maybe, if he was still around... maybe he'd finally praise me for doing something right.
I hope to hear from you again eventually, or whenever you can write back. Who knows, maybe I'll find time to visit you.
- Yours truly, forever and always, Midas.'

1 hour later...
As Midas finishes his salad, a knock on the door can be heard.
"Come in."
The door opens up wide as Midas looks up from his book, and his eyes go wide. With a few stray plasters and a bandage on her arm, Sophie smiles brightly, happy to see Midas' face.
"Midas!"
He closes the book and practically dashes over to Sophie, wrapping his arms around her, his eyes glistening with tears.
"Thank goodness. You're okay..." His breath waivers, Sophie hugging back with a big grin.
"You did it, right? There's no more war, right?"
He nods, letting go.
"The shadow of the Chaos Agent is gone. The island's safe again."
"What about the henchmen and agents and their jobs? What'll happen with them?" She asks, concerned.
Midas hums to himself, thinking.
"You know, I think I have an idea."
