"I will survive as long as I have you."
Novalee sighs when she hears Bella say that to her fiancée as she stops outside of Edward's room. She goes downstairs, and finds Esme cooking.
"I'm going to Sam's," Novalee says softly.
Alice smiles and she nods. Nova sees Emma on the couch with Emmett, they're talking sports. Nova smiles before she walks downstairs and goes to the garage for her car. She drives on highway 101 until she reaches the secluded driveway of Sam and Emily's.
Rosalie bolts out of the house when Novalee gets out of the car, and she hugs her. Sam walks out and he wraps Novalee in a hug.
"I'm sorry about Embry," he whispers. "He's an ass."
Novalee snorts out a bit of laughter, "I can agree with that."
Sam smiles before he leads her inside. Rosalie is sitting hand in hand with Jared.
"Ah!" Novalee squeals. "Finally."
"Shut up," Jared grumbles.
Novalee smiles before Embry walks in. Her smile falters but she smiles again.
"Hi, Embry!" Nova chirps.
Embry looks at her as if she's grown two heads. "Hey?"
"I am still your imprint, divorced or not," Novalee says. "We Can he friends. Best friends."
"That sounds fair," Embry replies as he walks passed her and gets something to eat in the kitchen.
"You have names yet?" Emily asks.
"For a girl, Cheryl Nicolle Call," Novalee says with a smile. "For a boy, Marcus Avon Morningstar."
Embry smiles at the girl name. "Cheryl's a good name. Mom would be thrilled."
Novalee sighs. "Bella is asking Alice to be her maid of honor."
"And you're mine," Emily says. "My wedding's coming up, yay!"
Novalee smiles. "I'm so proud of you Sammy. You're actuLly settling down with her."

Sam narrows his eyes. "Shut up, Novalee."
"Make me."
Sam and Novalee have a stare down, before they both bust out laughing. Emily smiles at their friendship before she goes to the kitchen to make some lunch. Novalee sits down beside Sam this time and they talk about the battle.
Instead of sticking around for lunch, Novalee went to the first beach. She walks to the water and lets her feet get wet as she walks the edge of the sand. The water moves up and brushes over her feet and up over her ankles before moving back into the ocean body.
Novalee eventually returns home, Emmett and Emma are tossing a football back and forth in the yard. She walks on across the yard, and walks inside. Jasper is reading and Edward is playing the piano.
"I asked Charlie for Bella's hand in marriage," Edward says when he looks up and notices her.
"After you already proposed?" Novalee rises an eyebrow. "Real smooth, Edward. Did he approve?"
"He did," Edward replies. "Much to my surprise."
Novalee laughs as she sits with him. "Listen amd learn, brother."
Novalee straightens amd she plays a lovely classical tune, her eyes closed. Edward's eyes widen as Alice walks in, she smiles.
"Novalee, you're playing at the wedding," Alice instructs. "You play beautifully."
"Thank you, Alice," Novalee says and she continues playing, even as it grows intense, Edward and Alice are both amazed as they watch her fingers move across the keys with ease.
"Your baby likes your playing," Edward says. "I can read their mind."
Novalee only smiles before she finds Carlisle in his doctoring office, getting the ultrasound ready. Carlisle looks up at the sound of the door opening, and he smiles at Novalee as she lays on the table thing. Carlisle squeeze the gel om Novalee's abdomen and shows the baby.

"There's your baby," Carlisle muses. "I'm printing Esme and me, and you a picture off. Do you want me to print one off for Embry, too?"
"Please," Novalee says. "I won't kick him out of the baby's life."
"By the time of the wedding, we can see what you're having," Carlisle says. "You're due in January, like Rosalie."
Novalee nods as she wipes her belly, Carlisle hands her the picture for Embry. Nova drives to Sam's, knowing she'd find Embry there. She walks in and finds a plantinum blonde clung to him. Novalee's heart beats faster as she hands out the picture.
Embry hesitantly takes it, he hadn't expected Novalee again. He looks at the sonogram and smiles, so does the girl.
"That's the baby," Novalee says. "I find out the sex in August. Carlisle might let you come, and see." She looks at the girl and holds her hand out, "I'm Novalee Morningstar, the ex wife."
"Jenna Caldwell, the new girlfriend," blondie says as she shakes Novalee's hand. "It's a pleasure."
Novalee nods and she smiles tightly before she walks out of the house, and leans against her car.
"Hey," Jared greets as he follows her, Rosalie went home to bond with Emma some more. "Come here." Jared jogs closer when he notices the tears and he pulls Novalee into a close hug. "You'll be okay, Nova. You don't need Embry, or that Jenna girl. You got the pack, and you got the Cullen's." Jared pulls away and looks at her. "Jasper likes you, ya know."
"He just got out of a relationship with Alice, they were together forever," Novalee says. "And I just got out of a marriage..."
"In which the husband lied and didn't really want to marry you," Jared adds.
"Jasper will have to make the first move," Novalee says, knowing that former arguement was going nowhere because Jared was indeed right.
"He will, give him time," Jared says.
"And if he doesn't?"
"Then he's either stupid or blind," Jared replies as he opens the car door for the girl. "You're gorgeous, and a great person. Now, you drive safe. Talk Bella into inviting me to the wedding."
"You'll be Rosalie's plus one," Novalee assures him. "Just talk to Sam and Carlisle about crossing the boarder."
Jared waits until she's inside before leaning down. "I will do that. I can't wait till August, to see you dressed up, and hopefully see a little bump." He closes the car door and he heads back inside and he looks at Embry and Jenna. "What are you doin', man?" Jared asks him before he goes to grab a muffin.
~~~
Novalee lays in her bed alone that night, thinking about what Jared said about jasper liking her. He can't. Either that, or Novalee doesn't want to believe that because she's had feelings for him since she arrived in Forks. But he was always with Alice.
"Hey," Alice coos as she enters the room after knocking. "Can we talk?"
"Yeah, yeah, of course," Novalee says as she sits up. "For a little while, because I get sleepy now."
Alice smiles and says, "of course." Alice talks about Jasper, she even agrees with Jared that jasper likes Nova.
Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
