It's been a little over a month and Novalee has graduated early, and she's being trained to be a doctor at Forks community hospital. She's good around the blood and patients, she's becoming a nurse.

She goes to Embry's house, and finds his mom cooking and Liz ten year old sister, Emma, doing homework.

"Nova!" Emma exclaims, Embry's Mom smiles at the sound of her name. "Can you help me with my homework?"

Novalee nods and she sits with the girl at dining room table. Cheryl, Embry's Mom, smiles and she makes a plate for Emma. Cheryl knows what Nova is, she knows what her son is. She's okay with it, because she is sure Novalee is a good person. She had to be in order for the elders to let her enter the reservation.

Embry enters from his morning patrol, they had caught scent of a vampire that wasn't Nova and chased it down, but found nothing. When Embry sees Novalee helping Emma with her homework, smiles and grabs a plate, amd puts two stakes and two baked potatoes on it, he sits on the other side of Novalee and eats.

"How was the nurse training?" Cheryl asks as she sits with her plate.

"It was good," Novalee replies after helping Emma with a problem. "I learned how to take vitals today. But I'm still taking my online courses for my nursing degree."

"So, you're volunteering at the hospital in Forks?" Cheryl questions.

"Yes and no," Novalee says. "My Professor and I email and she says the hospital could be a great place to learn on hand, too. So my four years of online courses for my bachelors degree in nursing, I am allowed to learn on hand at the hospital. I just can't care for patients until my classes are done and I have my degree."

"You could get your associates," Cheryl claims as she swallows her food. "It takes two years. That's how I got my business degree. It's an associates, not a bachelors."

"Either way, I'll have my degree and can become a registered nurse at Forks community hospital," Novalee says. "The associate sounds best, though. It won't take as long with my online classes." She sees that the three are done eating. "I'll wash your dishes."

"Oh, I can do them," Cheryl exclaims. "You're a guest."

"I insist, ms Call," Novalee assures her.

"Well, all right," Cheryl replies as she sits back. "Oh and Novalee, honey, call me Cheryl. Ms Call makes me sound old."

Novalee smiles before she gathers the dishes, then she goes to the kitchen. Embry walks in with a jewelry box.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Nova," Embry says and he hands her the box.

Novalee looks at him in shock before he realizes her hands are soaked. So, Embry opens the jewelry box for her mad reveals a crystal heart necklace.she smiles and Embry puts it on her.

"I love you, Novalee Morningstar Cullen," Embry mumbles after kissing her.

"And I love you, too, Embry Eugene Call," Novalee replies before she turns back to the sink.

Embry kisses the back of her head when he hears Sam howling. It's his pack meeting howl. The shifter groans and Nova laughs as Embry storms out of the house to go to Sam's for the pack meeting.

"Mom, can I spend the night with Novalee?" Emma asks. "In Forks?"

"Sure, sweetie," Cheryl replies. "Want her to run you in her super speed?"

"No, mommy," Emma laughs. "Nova can drive me. She drove here."

"Go get your clothes," Nova urges. "You're coming back tomorrow, you have school Monday."

Emma cheers and she runs upstairs. Cheryl smiles in amusement.

"You have food at your house?" Cheryl asks.

"Yes, ma'am," Novalee replies. "Keep it for Embry's piggish ways."

Cheryl laughs at this. "Oh yeah. Why do you think I keep so ouch food? Especially now that quill phased too, and he still comes over. Hungry. When he doesn't go to Sam and Emily's."

Novalee chuckles before Emma comes down with a backpack, ready to go. Nova leads her out to her new car, a black 2006 Dodge Charger. Emma fastens her seatbelt and puts in her iPod. Bossy from Kellis fills Novalee's car as the rain belts down against the windshield as the girls pass the Forks boarded on highway 101.

Emma runs inside the house as soon as Nova unlocks the door, she's glad the Cullen's left their house to her. She needed this. Nova lives alone, and now she has Emma over. Emma's a ten year old human and honestly, her innocence makes Emma Novalee's favorite human.

Novalee hasn't spoken to Bella since the prom. Since she heard her tell Edward she wanted to spend forever with him. Bella wants to be a vampire so that she can spend forever with him. Nova is glad she wants to spend her life with him, but Nova wishes for nothing more than to be human.

"Can i get a snack before i take a bath for bed?" Emma asks.

Novalee leads Emma to the kitchen. "Go for it."

Emma is amazed by all the openness to the house, especially of the kitchen. Emma goes to the fridge and she grabs some kind of snack as the landline rings downstairs. Novalee flashes downstairs.

"Hello?"

"Will you accept a call from Volterra, Italy?" An automatic voice asks in a monotone way.

"Yes," Novalee replies as she hears the water in the guest room rings.

After a moment, a voice says, "miss Cullen!"

"Aro," Novalee says in a steady voice. "To what do I own this oddly pleasant surprise?"

"It is nice to hear your voice, Miss Cullen," Aro muses, Caíus gives him an odd look. "Could you travel to the castle within the next couple of days? I have something important to tell you."

"Can't you tell me now?" Novalee asks as she she listens to Emma, to be sure she's safe upstairs.

"It is much too important to discuss over the phone, Novalee," Aro says quickly and Caius nods in approval. "Please..."

"I'll come as soon as I drop my mate's little sister off at home tomorrow," Novalee says with ease. "I will see you guys soon." She hangs up amd grabs her cellphone, she texts Embry the news because he will be on patrol during the morning.

Emma is asleep in Alice's old room when Nova goes to the second floor to check on her. Novalee smiles before she sees Embry coming up the stairs. He wants to see her tonight, because he knows she will be gone for a couple days. They go into her room, and snuggle.
