♡Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen♡
One-shot dedicated to @blcksailormoon for finally converting me to the Nanami simp cult lol
"Team, I'd like to introduce you to your newest CEO. F/N L/N, she'll be taking over the company in her brother's stead. Ensure that you treat her with the utmost respect," Your personal secretary Jae-Ha announces to the room of around twenty or so gentlemen appearing to be in their late twenties or early thirties.
Just based on the reactions you received you can practically smell the misogyny steeping off some of the men, though a decent amount of others appear to care less and seem to want to just get back to doing their job and going home. Despite the sea of plain black and navy blue suits, one beige suit and blue shirt combo with a playful leopard print green tie captures your attention.
The man has short blonde hair brushed back and styled so that it doesn't fall into his greek god chiselled face. His expression is neutral and even though you can't see his eyes clearly behind his circular lenses, you can just tell that he's staring at you. Though what thoughts cross his mind as he does so you're unsure.

"Did you truly think that I wouldn't notice that the numbers on your report don't match the records? I'll give you thirty minutes to clear out your desk and get out of my building," you say to the forty-ish-year-old man standing in front of you. You don't bother making eye contact with him as you look over your other reports.
It's been two months since you've taken your position as CEO from your idiot brother and so far everything is flowing nicely. A few men attempted to test your qualifications for the position by cutting corners or flat-out stealing, you make sure to make a show of them so that the others know their place.
"P-please Y/N..."
"That's Ms. L/N to you," you cut in harshly as your cold eyes glare up at the pitiful man who presses his hands together in a pleading motion.
"Please Ms. L/N, I need this job for my wife and three children..." the man begins his sob story but you hold up a hand to cut him off once more, this time rising from your seat and walking around to lean against your desk.
"Well, you should've thought about your family before squandering money and flat-out stealing from my company. As a seasoned accounting manager, I'm disappointed in you, now get out of my sight before I call the cops and have you arrested," you say as the man bows to you before rushing out of your office in tears.
You roll your eyes and lean over to press a button on your phone to page your secretary.
"You called Ms. L/N?" Jae-Ha asks as you bite down on your lip while thinking of what to do next.
"Who do you presume I use to replace Mr. Yu as the new accounting manager?" you ask as Jae-Ha promptly answers as if waiting for you to ask.
"Mr. Nanami has a virtually flawless record, all of his reports are organized and the numbers are always correct. His professionalism is also a sight to behold so I strongly doubt there will be any quarrels between the two of you. He's also been with the company for four years," your secretary relays to you as you picture the person to match the name.
Nanami Kento. The guy comes into the office exactly at 10 am every day and leaves at 6 pm without fail. He's the type of man who takes his job seriously but only because it results in respect in the office and an opportunity for promotion and more income.

However, is someone who wears a beige suit, blue shirt, and leopard print green tie combo really the kind of stickler guy he makes himself out to be? You can't help but be curious about who he is outside of work, but as the company CEO, you should refrain from having those kinds of desires.
"I'm not opposed to this promotion, send him in for me please,"
"Of course," your secretary responds before hanging up the call to page Nanami. You feel your chest tighten a bit as you anticipate his arrival. You don't know what to do with yourself since this will be the first time you and Nanami will be having a one-on-one discussion.
A few dazed minutes later you hear a fist knock at your door making you jump slightly. You quickly run around your desk and plop back down into your chair before adjusting your suit and clearing your throat.
"Enter," you call out in an authoritative voice as the door slides open and Nanami slinks inside. He closes the door behind him and walks over to your desk at a slow even pace. He doesn't wear his glasses this time allowing you to see the bit of fatigue resting behind his brown eyes.
"You called for me, Ms. L/N?" Nanami asks as you try to casually push down the butterflies that attempted to jump out at the sound of his deep silky voice.
"Yes, due to certain circumstances the position of accounting manager is now available. Is a promotion something you'd be interested in?" you ask while giving Nanami your undivided attention as he thinks for a moment before returning to your eyes and locking in seriously.
"Would I still be working the same hours?" Nanami asks bluntly as you can't help but chuckle a bit not expecting that to be his first question. However, as you're reeling in your laughter you notice Nanami watching your expression curiously as his own face softens.
"Of course, there should be no need to ever work overtime unless your work for the day is unfinished which, considering your track record, seems virtually impossible. You're looking at more pay for a few more responsibilities within the same eight-hour shift. Are you alright with those conditions?" you ask as Nanami nods and bows his head to you.
"I accept the position then, thank you for the opportunity Ms. L/N," Nanami says as you smile at his formality. Though it only reminds you further of the power imbalance between the two of you.
"Of course, you've earned it," you say as Nanami raises his head again and turns to leave but hesitates. He turns to look at you again as you pretend to busy yourself with your laptop so as to not get caught gawking at him.
"Was there something else I could help you with?" you ask softly as you lock eyes with Nanami again, though this time he quickly looks away and bows to you again making you pout internally.
"No, thank you again," Nanami says before exiting your office and closing the door behind him. You let out a breath as he leaves and rest your arms on the desk before placing your head on your arms and pouting.
"He's so sexy what the fuck, it's not fair," you mumble to yourself as you wonder what he hesitated to tell you.

"I'm telling you, Mei Mei, this guy is so fucking hot. Plus he's smart too! I'd let him talk numbers to me all day if that's what he pleased," you relay to your friend as the two of you stumble down the sidewalk with an arm wrapped around each other while giggling joyfully.

You rarely make time to hang out with friends but on a rare occasion, you actually had a day off planned to get drunk with one of your old business school friends.
"Tell me tell me! What does Mr. Perfect look like?" Mei Mei asks eagerly as you stop walking to properly visual Nanani in his usual work element. You can hear the way his thick fingers tap against the keyboard slightly louder than the rest. The way he'll occasionally brush back his hair when something is a bit more challenging to calculate.
You spend more time with the accounting team than any other department as a result.
"He's tall, and blonde and wears this really weird combination of a beige suit, blue shirt and green leopard print tie but my God does he make it work somehow. His voice is so sexy I swear I just want to kiss him every time he speaks," you describe as Mei Mei gets a distant look in her glossy eyes and steps in front of you to look at your face.
"Oh, by chance what's his name?" Mei Mei asks as you frown confused. Does she know him just based on that description? You don't know nearly enough about Nanami to hypothesize about where these two could've encountered each other.
"Nanami Kento," you say as Mei Mei goes pale. You want to ask her the reason for her reaction, but you're abruptly sidetracked.
"Yes?" You hear a voice say from behind you as you whip around to see Nanami standing behind you. He's dressed in his usual outfit but his jacket rests in the crook of his arm giving you a delicious view of the muscles that hug the blue fabric of his shirt tightly. You stumble for words but you notice Nanami do the same as he looks you up and down.
Since you don't go out often you don't have many club-type clothes, but you did happen to have an article of black lacy lingerie which you paired with black dress pants. Your hair, which is usually tied up in a style that prevents it from getting in your face at work, now flows freely around your face.
"Ms. L/N?" Nanami sputters out in shock as you nod and wave awkwardly at him.
"Hiiii," you say as Nanami then glances over at Mei Mei with a similar look of surprise. You feel a tinge of jealousy bubble up in you but Nanami's eyes return to you making you swallow your pettiness.
"You seem to be having a good night," Nanami observes as you chuckle awkwardly and nod.
"Well, of course, Y/N rarely ever goes out. Always working so hard, why don't you join us, Mr. Nanami? Add to her stress relief," Mei Mei suggests as your cheeks burn with red. It's embarrassing enough knowing that Nanami heard you call out his name in your drunken rumblings. You'd probably die if he lingered about while you're like this.
"I'll have to politely decline this time around as I have other matters to attend to. I'll see you at the office Ms. L/N, enjoy the rest of your night ladies," Nanami says as his eyes linger on you for a moment before he clears his throat and walks off.
"I'd be careful with that one if I were you, but one thing is undeniable. That man is totally into you," Mei Mei whispers to you as the two of you watch Nanami walk away slowly. You bite down on your lip to hide your blush at the supposed observation from your friend.
"There's no way..."
"Just trust me Y/N, that man is into you. Does he look like the type who'd just give anyone a lingering glance?" Mei Mei asks as you shake your head and admire the view of Nanami's broad shoulders and toned back before he turns the corner out of view.
However, just as he does you see him glance back at you and the two of you lock eyes for a split second. A smile lifts his lips as you blush and watch him vanish around the corner.
"Ahh fuck, I need another drink," you cry out as you and Mei Mei stumble into another bar.

"Agh hold the elevator please!" you yell out to the person inside as you arrive three minutes before 10 am. You like to be as punctual as possible at work, otherwise, how will you demand the same from your employees?
You watch with delight as the elevator door slides back open allowing you to enter, you bow to the person who held the door for you as you try to catch your breath. You go to press the button but realize that your floor number has already been selected.
"It isn't like you not to be punctual Ms. L/N," you hear a familiar smooth voice say as you look to your side and feel your heart slam against your chest as Nanami looks at you curiously. His face once again doesn't give away too much emotion, but you can feel yours begin to burn with embarrassment.
"There was a longer line than normal at my usual coffee place, by the time 9:50 wrapped around I was still waiting and just ran off without it to make it here," you say while withholding a childish pout. As a female CEO you have to be extra tough around your male employees, so as much as you'd like to throw a hissy fit over not being able to have your morning dirty beans you can't.
"I see, so you chose to deny yourself a guilty pleasure in order to keep up appearances at the office. I'm sure that must've been a tough decision, but a mature one nonetheless," Nanami says as you shrug casually.
"When you're an adult you have to make those kinds of sacrifices," you relay your internal thoughts as Nanami nods in agreement. This is one of the longest conversations the two of you have held to date, but you still can't help but savour just being in the presence of Nanami. He carries himself with such high regard that you wonder what he's like when he's relaxing.
Before you could find a way to prolong your conversation, the elevator door opens and Nanami gestures for you to exit first. You bow slightly to him before walking off towards your office and leaving Nanami behind.
Halfway through your day you hear a knock on your door and feel agitation set in. Without your caffeine, you've been in an extra snippy mood and it seems like you haven't gotten five seconds to yourself all day. However, despite not giving the ok for the person to enter, you hear your door crack open slightly as a cup carrying the delicious aroma of coffee hovers in.
"I thought you could use this since you had made that terrible sacrifice earlier today. Can I come in?" you hear Nanami ask as he slowly pokes his head inside to see the overjoyed expression on your face. You see Nanami's cheeks blush a bit as you nod rapidly and motion for him to come in with the coffee.
He places it down on your desk and you gladly pick it up and take a long satisfying sip from it. You let out a pleasurable sigh as the caffeine slowly enters your body, all the while Nanami stands in front of you still watching you with a small smile tugging at his own lips.
"Thank you Nanami, I really needed that and I couldn't find time to grab one myself," you inform Nanami who tilts his head a bit confused.
"Why not send your secretary for the coffee? The old CEO used to do that all the time," Nanami tells you as you roll your eyes and shake your head at the mention of your brother.
"My brother is lazy and doesn't care for the family business nor has the intelligence to manage it all. Jae-Ha has enough on his plate managing my affairs, he's not a common water boy and I won't treat him as such," you say seriously as Nanami smirks at your answer.
"It seems I've learnt something new about you today Ms. L/N," you hear Nanami say as you look up at him to see him walking towards the door.
"I'll get back to work now, please enjoy the coffee," Nanami says before once again running away before you could prolong the conversation to ask what it is he learnt about you. It's clear to you that Nanami isn't the kind of guy who gives into something like a work crush, not to mention that as CEO you shouldn't have relations with an employee anyhow.
However, there's just something about Nanami that makes your heart dance every time you see him. It's a dangerous charisma that you're not even sure he's aware that he has, but now that you think about it you hadn't even considered the possibility that he has a partner outside of work. It could be one of the reasons he always runs off at 6 pm on the dot and never works a day of overtime.
***
You bite the bottom end of your pen as you watch Nanami present the accounting report to yourself and the other departments. It happens once a month and the meeting is gruelling and painfully long but at least had some eye candy to look at.
His voice is always clear and even when he talks, it's as if he were made for the position with the way he delivers statistics and number crunches with expertise and not a single slip of the tongue. It's clear that the other department managers envy Nanami's ability to deliver his report with such flair, but you're soaking in every second of it.
"This concludes this month's accounting report," Nanami says abruptly as you snap out of your daze and realize that everyone in the office is looking at you expectantly. Oh crap, you got caught.
"Nicely done everyone, let's continue to maximize on these trends moving forward. Mr. Suguwara, make sure you see Jae-Hae before you leave today to submit the missing reports. You're dismissed," you announce as the team dispurses while you place a hand on your temple.
It takes a few minutes before the chair scarping and idle chatter finally dispurses and you can let out a soft sigh.
"Are you alright Ms. L/N?" you hear Nanami's voice ask as you jump slightly and move your hand to see Nanami standing in front of you with a concerned expression. It's been a couple of nights since you've had a good night's sleep and a decent meal, but you're not going to spend the precious few seconds of Nanami's time complaining to him.
"Oh me? Yeah, I'm fine..."
"Really? You seem to be exhausted lately, are you eating well?" Nanami asks you as your heartbeat quickens. He's noticed that you weren't feeling well? That would mean that he actually observes you more than you're aware of, right?!
"To be frank, no. This month I had to do some overtime at home and haven't really had the chance to eat or sleep properly. I'll be fine though, I appreciate the concern Nanami," you say while trying to dumb down the severity of your lack of self-care. However, Nanami seems unconvinced regardless.
"That won't do, too much overtime will kill you, especially when it gives you less time to fulfil your basic human needs. Let me take you out to dinner, you need to eat," Nanami suggests as you do everything in your power to keep your jaw from dropping to the floor.
Did Nanami just basically ask you out on a date?!
"I'm alright, really Nanami. Besides, I wouldn't want there to be any miscommunication if your partner were to find out," you say, not so subtly trying to find an answer to the question you've had running in your head these past few months.
"I don't have a partner so there's no need to worry. Allow me to treat you," Nanami says matter-of-factly as you have an internal party before slowly rising from your seat and shrugging.
"In that case sure, thank you for looking out for me," you say as Nanami smiles at you, this is the first time you've seen him smile so genuinely at you, the sight almost makes you trip over yourself.
"It's my pleasure Ms. L/N,"
"Please, just call me Y/N," you say as Nanami nods.
"Alright. Shall we Y/N?"
***
"Kento...can I ask you something?" you slur out your question as Nanami sits across from you at the table seemingly unaffected by the warm sake you were both drinking. As promised, Nanami treated you to a full meal and drinks, however, now that you're beyond the point of tipsiness your words escape and you're unable to reel them back in.
"Of course Y/N," Nanami says softly as you lean forward and lock eyes with him. He's definitely grown more comfortable around you now and you learnt more about him, but there's still so much you can tell he's holding back from you.
"What do you think of me?" you ask as Nanami tilts his head cutely and smirks.
"I think you're a highly intelligent woman who I respect very much," Nanami says as you pout and shake your head.
"No, not like that. I mean like...if I wasn't the CEO would you be attracted to me?" you ask with tears welling up in your eyes for some reason. It's been months and you haven't been able to shake your crush on Nanami once, your interactions mainly consisted of passing encounters, but each one stayed with you and you'd re-run them endlessly until you went to sleep at night.
