Thanzia was sat down on the floor at the corner of the room sobbing loudly making her Niqaab wet as her sister stood as a barrier between her and her brother in law.
Their little baby of 3.5 years old, Zahra felt horrified seeing her mother being so harsh with her Aani.
Ismail, Thanzia's brother in law tried stopping his wife from all these but she was so angry to even be ready for anything bad right now.
"Get up. Get up NOW." Mahia, her sister pulled her by her arm and was going to raise her hand at her but Ismail forced her back to his chest by her waist.
"Stop it Mahia, let her calm down. Stop it for Allah's sake. What are you doing?"
He yelled seeing Thanzia's situation worsening.
"ISMAIL I SAID LEAVE US ALONE."
"To let you kill her? Listen you're doin...."
"Okayy! She's my sister and I know to handle her. Take my girl out with you."
"Mahi..."
"RIGHT NOW."
Having enough, Ismail blinked his eyes in annoyance and walked away taking his daughter from the door side who was watching Thaniza crying like a child.
As soon as they left, Mahia turned around and pulled off Thanzia's Niqaab, revealing her swollen red nose, lips and bloodred eyes which are bleeding tears unconditionally.
"Auzubillahi minash shaitaanir rajim."
Mahia muttered closing her eyes to let her anger fade, which would, but Thanzia's words worsened it.
"I won't marry him. I won't."
She let out a gasp as Mahia placed a hard slap on her wet cheek.
She pulled her closer by her arms and glared through those emotionless eyes.
"I thank Allah to take my parents back to Him rather than letting them see you in this condition."
Expressing, she shook Thanzia's arms angrily as she was shedding tears like a kid begging for a toy that she knows she can't afford to get.
"Ziaa...listen to me...sit down...come here."
"Please Appi...don't ...don't do that..."
She begged falling on her knees down on the ground.
Mahia too bowed down and pulled her on her arms, caressing her back to calm her.
"Zia.. baby... please...stop crying... please hear me once."
Mahia patted her back controlling her own tears as she heard Thanzia sobbing louder.
"Can't you hear me once too?
Appi....how can I stay with him under the same roof? I.. can't...please..I won't marry his brother."
"Why on the first place you agreed then? Why did you promise to take care of Nahiaan like a mother? Why would you do that?"
Asking for her answers, she broke the hug and wiped Thanzia's tears with her palm.
She didn't want to force Thanzia to marry his brother. But she knows that only this could be a solution to her endless pain and also Nahiaan's loneliness.
"I.. I thought Shah..veer...will marry me..."
"He won't marry anyone. He won't. Forget him Zia...is that not why they're taking you for his brother to be a mum to his son?"
"But...I..love him...I can't... I'll marry any other guy..but not anyone of his house... Please Appi...please please."
She said in a whisper looking up at her sister.
"At least for Nahiaan..."
"I'm not only the girl left to be his mum. They can get another too."
Mahia left her arms and sat on the floor spreading her legs, finding few good words to convince her sister.
"Meet Tanveer once. Just for once."

"Appi....don't...do..so.."
••••••
(What do you think, will Tanveer be a good or bad character?)
Intenseness of her eyes deepened as fresh teardrops rained down her cheeks. Inhaling in, she wiped her face on the pillow as she laid on her back resting her head on the headboard while biting her nails.
The meeting again and again flashed back on her sight unready to give her rest even for a second.
Was that because she's getting married tomorrow with his brother or......
his brother is same as him?
She couldn't believe her eyes that caught the same smile, voice, eyes, moves and literally everything matching with the one whom she loved from years.
Okay, maybe she didn't love him for his looks, but could really their thoughts match too being not the same soul and person?
She found NO difference between them other than the age gap view of body.
Though everything that she found was same as him, she couldn't console her heart to accept someone else as her husband.
"Trust me I'm not marrying you for taking care of Nahiaan....I mean...that's just a benefit, if you have problem with it then I swear I won't let you do so."
He justified, clearly exploring the truth that she obviously believed.
Unwantedly a broken smile caught her lips as she nodded her head feeling pity for his situations.
"I've met him several times, that would be the biggest gift to be a mother without really be one,
I love him, and I don't mind loving him further more."
Her soft voice cheered up bringing peace in his heart. He moved his eyes near the table where other sat, busy in their own discussions giving them privacy to have a gentle chat.
"You..are not misunderstanding me right? Eeh I mean....my father wan.."
"I really am not having any problem. Please do not be worried about that."
"Aahh...thanks...." He sighed resting his back on the chair. She quietly finished sipping her coffee while muttering Astaghfar under her breathe with nervousness and pain in her heart.
"How do you spend your time?" After few minutes of silence, he again questioned making her gasp.
"I do...job..in the Quranic Arena."
Not the one where Shahveer met her beside the restaurant. She left that after he got married and then begin her job at a new Quran institution.
"Ohh... Hmm...That's far from your home."
"Yeah...takes almost an hour to reach."
Not wanting to make him embarrassed only by simply replying, she spoke with all her courage to increase the chat as she isn't questioning anything back to him.
"Hard for you. You travel there alone?"
"Yes......"
"Okayy sorry but...for Deen or Dunya?"
He chuckled cursing himself for his silly and unending questions, not denying himself to be a very talkative and extrovert minded.
"I don't want to live by my sister's husband's money....so basically for that...and then Deen, if Allah accepts."
"You know that institution is very far from my home.... would you continue working there?"
"I plan to quit working after Nikah."
"Errh....Why don't you think of joining the one near my home? I'll help you out."
She blinked her eyes at his excited tone as he offered.
"I would instead love spending time with Nahiaan."
"I repeat, I'm not marrying you to bring him a Nanny, Thanzia. If he's the reason you're quitting at all, don't!"
As gently as possible, Tanveer said the words putting on a supportive smile, his eyes flickering.

Thanzia chuckled at his generosity.
He surely is a husband material!
"I repeat, I work to not live on my brother in law's money. The reason to stop working now will be because I'll have a husband whose money's gonna be mine."
His mouth gaped open at her justification. Laughing it off, Tanveer nodded his head.
"Great.....you've no questions?"
Biting her lips she sucked the drop of tear that rolled down. His each and every word again and again haunted her heart somewhere assuring her that he's better one for her, though the heart never did agree to believe that.
She closed her eyes as a picture appeared on the screen, same look, view, move but at least not the same soul.
As she crazily begged her heart to forget him and accept her new life,
It could only complain about it's desire to not do so.
But honestly she felt that he's also not the wrong one, she really found the perfection in him that she loved in Shahveer also.
Tanveer finally gathered all his courage to let his words come out after he noticed others busy with themselves.
"May I see your face?"
He unsurely requested playing with his fingers as his heart won in demanding for so.
"Sure..."
Puzzled with her thoughts, she forced her chair little back turning her head to see her brother in law facing his back to her in the other table.
She turned back and untied her Niqaab keeping him desperate to at least get a single look of her face.
He was looking at the table, again at her, then again left and right, waiting for her to be unveiled.
Finally she moved the black veil from her face as it fell on her lap revealing her white creamy face along with red marks on her cheeks, nose and lips for crying the whole night.
"Mm..." She mumbled up taking his attention as he looked up from the table only to blink his eyes in surprise.
Skipping a shaky beat, his heart jumped alarming his mind that he already is loving her beauty.
He stared at her for 3-5 seconds as her eyes were fixed on a view after him until he moved his gaze down.
"Thanks."
She again then wore it and looked down praying to let this meeting end as soon as possible.
Finally it did.
While everyone stepped out of the restaurant to leave, Tanveer pulled the little baby girl to him, who's Thanzia's niece.
He bowed down resting on his knees after bringing few chocolates out from his pocket.
Zahra cheekily smiled seeing chocolates as she came closer and snatched all of them.
Thanzia tried her best to ignore all these as she stayed busy with the war of her heart that was protesting to let the reality fade.
She moved her gaze to the road while others are still chit chatting in between aweing at Tanveer and Zahra.
"Hmm???.." He brought few more chocolates out raising his eyebrows at her.
She put her both palms down her cheeks feeling excited to get so many chocolates from him.
She didn't take them as her little hands are already filled with the previous ones.
"Hershey's!"
"Yes!"
Tanveer giggled pinching on her cheek with his other hand.
Managing to keep the kitkats on her one hand, Zahra took two of them and looked at her parents with happiness who smiled at her back.
She then moved her gaze to Thanzia who's still staring at the road.
"Hershey's are Aani's favourite. You know if you give her that then she will give you kissie."
Making everyone surprised, she spoke as Thanzia immediately turned her head to look at her with widened eyes.
Tanveer managed to keep his smile stable as he nodded his head and stood up. With shivering hand, he leaned forward asking Thanzia to accept the chocolates.
"Ohh ya! Thanzia is mad for these chocolates." Tanveer's father said chuckling.
Unwillingly she took them from his hand and moved a step away.
"Aani give his kissie na."
Creating another scene of embarrassment for all, Zahra demanded at which her father pulled her to him to finish it.
"Be quiet baby."
Though she thought over all these, her heart only could concentrate on Shahveer's memories that she created staying very far from him, though always keeping him closer to her soul.
••••
Chaos of happiness filled their villa as everyone are busy with the wedding preparations.
While the two brothers and their little baby boy are resting in a room excusing themselves from the guests.
"Eii baby call me Cha Chu! Chachu! Say?"
Tanveer mumbled in a baby tone shaking Nahiaan's tiny hands as he laid on the bed giggling and laughing.
He blinked his eyes kicking on Tanveer's chest trying to utter a word with great difficulty.
"Da da! Dada Dada Dada!" He sang in his baby voice making him glare at him with a sheepish smile.
"Cha chu! Chachu Chachu."
"Dadda! Oiii Dadda."
"Aahh fine! Not my fault if your father looks alike me."
Giving up to teach his nephew correctly calling him, he leaned forward and sucked his fruity tasted lips.
"Daaaaddaaa!"
"My baby boy!"
They both kept enjoying while Shahveer stayed busy counting the stars as he sat on a couch resting his legs freely on the railing.
A gentle smile lasted from long on his lips, revealing how handsome and cute he looks while smiling, as if there's no pain in his life.
But the reality of his heart and soul is so deadly broken that he finds it impossible to be healed.
He was just newly 20 back then.
A young boy with high dreams to become a doctor craving to fulfil his mother's wish.
But that girl made him take such a big decision without even being near him.
He nor had a proper job to marry and start a family.
That wasn't something big though, his creator and role model in fact recommended him to do so, so he just did that.
Only if he knew that was the biggest nightmare of his life to marry the wrong girl.
The girl for whom he fell, truly did destroy his life through putting him in such a misunderstanding that he never even thought to be done!
But who is at fault?
Like those in movies where a royal cloth flies from behind the neck as the superman walks, her Niqaab's back part danced with the flow of air as she hurried while walking.
The black Jilbab is enough wide and loose giving no excuse to let anyone guess how truly her figure would be.
Though he somehow imagine her to be breathtakingly beautiful.
As everyone are busy with their works, Shahveer followed her with slower steps than her trying to know where she goes.
At a time, unaware of being followed by him, Thanzia looked back making him immediately turn away from being caught.
She then again started walking away keeping some papers on her side bag.
Shahveer too, started following her this time with utmost guts to have a chat with her as he wanted to ask for her father's number or her home address.
He was steps away when a paper fell on the ground from her bag.
Unfortunately not knowing that, she ran away and got up on a cab.
Sighing in relaxation and also failure, Shahveer went there and bowed down to take the paper.
That's a photocopy of national I'd card.
Though the passport sized picture is really not at all clear, her name, number and few other informations are mentioned well.
"Thanzia Ahmed."
He smiled remembering that old lady once telling him her name.
"Yeeeeyyy!!!!"
He literally jumped on his place getting her home address and also phone number.
As if that national I'd card photocopy belonged to that Niqaabi?
That's how this wrong information led him to the Hell.
••••
She sobbed more while wiping her tears with her Niqaab that hanged from her forehead. Tanveer helped her to sit inside the car as her gown under the Jilbab made her feel like a stone on herself.
Closing the door, he found Ismail, her brother in law staring inside the car trying his best to not let a teardrop fall down his eyes.
Maybe he isn't her brother, maybe he's the most alarming Na Mahram to her, but all those years that he spent with her even under the maintenance, he won in giving her the place of a sister and a special woman in his life.
Ismail forced Tanveer move to the right as he bowed down to the window area trying to talk to Thanzia.
"Hey, Thanks for leaving my house. I won't anymore need to waste my money on your Hershey's."
He chuckled though a drop of tear fell down his eye.
Thanzia couldn't stop herself from crying little louder this time as she looked up at Ismail.
"I'll keep... visiting ev..ery week I pro...mise. Don't act..... like a brother. We never ev..en talked with..without ne..eed."
Ismail nodded as she spoke making him more emotional.
He backed off and looked at Tanveer, who stood puzzled with this emotional scene being the groom.
"I...want NO complains from her...mind it."
His words literally came out with a serious warning as he smirked at Tanveer.
He forced a smile and nodded his head.
Getting up on the car, he signed the driver to start driving leaving Thanzia's little family broken.
"She'll manage to love him right?" Mahia came forward hugging Ismail from behind as she cried more now.
"She's not that immature to not know the meaning of Nikah at least, don't worry."

'If one of you proposes marriage to a woman, if he can look at her to see that which will encourage him to go ahead and marry her, then let him do so.' I proposed marriage to a young woman, and I used to hide where I could see her, until I saw that which encouraged me to go ahead and marry her, so I did so.'"

STEM: The Topical Dungeon
Inspired by CORE: The Volcanic Dungeon by Ace Arriande and a spiritual successor to my writing prompt series Evolution Barricade, STEM is a series following the reincarnation of Kaden into the fantasy world of Brogdar. Reborn as a "DM" and a plant, Kaden tackles the challenges of being the agent of the chaotic god: trying to be his very own dungeon master. However, unlike other stories, Kaden is often making fun of and dealing with disadvantages that the normal reincarnated hero would never have to worry about. A parody of the normal tropes of isekai, STEM is a periodic series that is intended to release a minimum of once per week. There may be times where there is more than one drop, but those would be special occasions. Additionally, the content tags are simply to try and ensure my readers know these stories can encompass a large variety of things. They may not immediately be in focus, but they will all end up appearing!

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
