We got out our car and walked into Carters parents very big beach house.

I used to come here all the time with Carter when we wanted to have long make out secessions and hide our relationship from Jules.

"Aurora Pierce is the house!!" I hear Jules yell behind me and before I turn to greet her, the girls have already ran to Jules.

Jules gives them both bone crushing hugs and kisses their foreheads.

I chuckle and Levi stayed his serious, extremely introverted self.

Just smiled when he was with me or the girls.

"Julieeee!" I run to her and hug her.

"I missed you!" Jules says when we finally let go.

"Oh I've missed you too girl. What have you been up to?"

"Well the sex department has been off the chain Aurora! I'll definitely tell you all the dirty deeds later."

"Can't wait babe." We chuckle and Levi's eyes widen as he hears the entire conversation.

"Oh well hello devil Pierce. How can I help you this evening? Want my soul?" Jules jokes around Levi a lot like this, which gets Levi very agitated.

"Hey Jules, I see you're as annoying as ever."

"Levi..." I glare at him.

"Nah maybe just a tick bit more annoying as always, devil."

"Hey guys! I'm so glad you're here!" Carter interrupts innocently.

I get butterflies in my tummy and my eyes are probably turning into hearts by now.

He had an elegant navy blue suit on that hugged his body perfectly.

His hair was sort of messy but that was typical Carter.

Cute in all his glory.

"Mommy is this Carter?" Blair says.

"Why yes sweetie, it is Carter." Levi answers before I could say anything.

He still hates Carter, I don't know why.

"Hi Mr.Carter I'm Blair and this is my sister Millie, she's shy." Carter chuckles and squats down.

"Well hello pretty girl. I know who you are Blair. I saw you when your mommy first gave birth to you and I gotta say you really did enjoy it when I carried you."

"Can you carry me now?" She smile.

"Of course precious." Carter picked her up and she squealed, Levi practically had fire coming out of his ears.

"Aurora looking great as always and Levi always good to see you." We both nod at him.

"Oh who's this little rat?" A girl comes behind Carter.

Did she just call my baby a rat??

"I'm no rat, I'm a princess."

"Oh no little one, princesses dress much nicer."

"Well then maybe you should take your own advice." I say and smile.

Everyone felt the tension in the room when I leave her dumbfounded.

Levi put a gentle hand on my lower back as a sign stop and calm down.

The girl steps closer to me but Carter pulls her back.

"Okay ladies." He chuckles nervously, it's so cute.

"Uh Aurora this is my fiancé, Stephanie. Stephanie this is Aurora one of my best friends, her husband Levi, and there little princesses Blair and Millie." He smiles.

"Oh how nice it is to meet you! I finally get to meet the girl who broke poor Carters heart." She gave me a hug and Levi too but spent too much time on Levi so he pulled her back and shook his head.

"Don't hug me, hug him." Levi said very bluntly, which made her frown.

"Well guys there's a playroom for the kids, if you want to let the girls hang around over there."

"Uh yeah that sounds great."

"I'll take them." Jules says and grabs the babies hands.

"Levi is it okay if I borrow her for just a minute?"

I look up at Levi and smile at him.

I know he wants to say but instead he gives Carter a firm nod.

"Love you." I say and kiss his cheek.

"Love you too darling." He smiles down at me.

Carter and I walk on the beach.

"So how do you like Stephanie?"

"Oh you mean the rat?" We chuckle.

"Yes."

"You know what I think. You know me better than I know myself. I want us to be together but that can't happen so my opinion on her doesn't matter. I just hope you're happy, that's all I want to see. It's you being super happy and in love with whoever you are with." I pat his shoulder.

"That's what I want for you. To be happy with whoever. Super in love. I'll admit the only one who I really feel that with is with you." He says.

"Me too but we both have to move on. If it wasn't for the girls I'd leave Levi in a heartbeat, you know that and it'll all be so we could be together. But we can't."

"I know, you'll always be the one who I love the most in this world even though we can't be together."

"Same thing with me. I hope that you're happy with Stephanie, I really do."

"I...am. I just wish it was you instead of her." He shrugs.

"In another life, we will be together. I promise. We'll find each other one day. But that day is not today."

"I know beautiful." He kisses my cheek and we walk back to the house.

We were sitting at our tables there were speeches going on.

Jules went on to speak.

"Good evening everyone. Thank you coming to this event for Carter and Stephanie."

She's drunk.

"Okay I'd like to start by saying that for everyone that knows Carter, we all know he belongs with someone else who's here."

"She looks absolutely beautiful. Probably the best dressed here and definitely much more beautiful than...Stephanie over here." She slurs.

I go to get up but Levi stops me.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to stop her!"

"No Aurora let it be."

"I'm not doing it for Carter, I'm doing it for Stephanie. She shouldn't be disrespected like this in her own celebration." He let me go and quickly walk up to Jules trying to take the mic away and pull her off the platform but she doesn't let me.

"Ohhh it's her. It's Carters princess!"

"Jules stop making a scene at your brothers dinner party please." I whisper and try to take the mic away from her.

"Did you hear that?! She told me to not make a scene!" She yells into the mic and people start to laugh.

"Jules no come on stop it!" She refuses and pushes me into a chocolate fountain.
