I get a knock on my door and I open to see Carter.
"Hey Carter." I smile.
"Hey Rory." He says.
"Oh come in!" I say.
"Is Levi here?" He asks.
"Uh yeah he's upstairs in his office." I say.
"Come sit, tell me what's up?" I smile.
"Oh well nothing really has been up. I've just been working a lot on different cases. I've missed you." He says.
"I've missed you." I say and we look into each other's eyes.
It feels so peaceful.
Carter leans in and so do I.
I hear a clap and move back immediately.
"Carter..." Levi says bluntly.
"Levi..." Carter says with the same attitude.
They've always hated each other. Carter always said that Levi stole me from him. Which is kind of true but I loved Levi and I had to choose.
"Uh Carter just came to see how I was." I smile at Levi.
"Yeah after I found out your unfaithful ass cheated on Aurora." Carter yells to Levi.
"Okay Carter it's none of your damn business!" Levi then yells to Carter.
"Okay guys let's stop. Come on I can't have this right now. Carter, Levi and I are doing great. We're going to marriage counseling twice a week and we're doing pretty good. And as for you Levi, it is Carter's business because he's my friend and he cares about me." I say.
"But Aurora-."
"No but's Levi, I said enough with the fighting. Carter do you want to stay for dinner?" I smile.
"I don't think that's a very good idea Ror-."
"Great so you're staying. You two sit, talk. I'll get you beer and start cooking." I clap my hands and smile.

I gave them their beers and they were silent for a while until Levi put a football game on and then started to talk more.
I waited for the food to finish, I went to the dinning room and set the table.
Levi looks back at me and smiles.
Why do feel like something is wrong? Not with Levi but with me.
"Okay guys the food is ready." I say.
We all sit and I serve Levi.
"Is that enough?" I say.
"Yes perfect, thank you honey." He kisses my cheek.
I didn't like it.
We ate dinner and I mostly stayed quiet for the time being. Carter and Levi talked about random stuff.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick." Levi says and leaves.
"Carter, can I be honest with you?" My eyes water.
"Of course Rory." He says.
"I'm not happy." I cry out.
"What?" He shakes his head.
"I can't do this. It doesn't feel right. Levi is being the best but I still have a lot of doubt about everything, about me still loving him. I don't know what to do. I don't want to hurt him but I want to be happy. And the only thing I think about that makes me happy is...you." I look into his eyes.
"Aurora I feel the sa-."
"Okay I'm back!" Levi wraps his arms around my waist and picks me up.
"Levi put me back down!" I say.
"I should go. Tonight was nice. Thank you Aurora and Levi. Good night you two." Carter says nodding and looking at me with a smile.

Red Street Daybreak
August Samuel Hatch was born under an inauspicious pattern of stars. It's granted him what is widely considered the most unlucky of inconveniences: becoming host to a powerful but pernicious spirit that will act as his guide and protector--and one day end his life. Sairne is sworn to stand by August's side and, when the fancy strikes her, advise him, all in the service of atoning for a past life she can’t remember having committed a grave enough offense to earn her soul indentureship in the mortal realm. Bound by a celestial contract neither one can negotiate, their fates are all they've ever known. But in a city ruled by religious right and where magic runs deep as bedrock, their search for a missing friend leads them to a dark conspiracy that could transmute the very magic that binds them to their fates, and that might grant them the ultimate choice: do they save the city or save themselves? Cross-posted on Wattpad and Ao3. For fans of fantasy YA story beats if they starred adults instead, 1920s inspired setting, lots of banter, larger cast of characters, somewhat soft magic system. Completed, but being actively edited prior to posting! I'm the only captain on this ship, so mind any errors.
