Chapter 30
Silence.
The deathly silence that filled the room was catching as all the Alphas stared at me in wonder I just wanted to run as far away as possible.
How could I a wolf that was treated as nothing be the descendant of Marius Vergbehdarn, It is simply impossible he was such a great man and leader how could I ever measure up to him.
I felt someone taking my hand and giving it a gentle squeeze, I looked up to see that Alek had moved ever closer to me in a form of comfort.
I didn’t need to say anything I knew he could tell what I was feeling from his gentle reassurance towards me.
I took a deep breath to calm myself it had been such a long and immensely tiring day but as I tried to run through all that had been said by Elder Drake something was nagging at the back of my mind that I needed to ask.
“Drake what did you mean when you said that I am the leader of the Ordinem Lupus, there is no Order of the wolf anymore it disappeared with the end of the war” I asked I could see out of the corner of my eye some of the other Alphas nodding their heads as if to second my question.
Elder drake looked around at all the Alphas a small smile lighting his face “No Alpha Van Derbergh the Ordinem Lupus was never destroyed. You see when the order was first started all the Alphas involved including your ancestor Marius took an Blood Oath to protect the people and each other this bound together all the Alphas as well as their descendants to one another”.
As soon as Elder Drake stopped talking I could see the confusion on everyone’s faces except Alpha Dane who was the oldest Alpha in the room instead of confusion his face simply showed shock.
“A Blood Oath? Those are practically unheard of know” Alpha Dane whispered.
Elder Drake nodded “Yes they are by doing so the Alpha’s of the Ordinem Lupus bound themselves to this duty to protect though Marius had the extra responsibility due to the fact that he was the leader. After the war was won the Alphas did go their separate ways because their guidance was no longer needed but this did not mean that their legacy and the bond between them would disappear. I believe that they knew that someday the order would be needed again now it is time for the order of old to come again”.

This was getting even more confusing what did he mean by all this I already knew that I had to lead my pack to war but what relevance does all this have to Wolves in an order that I have never met.
“So you want me to go looking for all of the other descendants of the rest of the Ordinem Lupus even though I have never met them before” I asked in shock.
“Who said that you have never met them” Elder Drake smirked.
“What are you talking about Drake for once in your life just give us a straight answer” Alek growled in annoyance I could see that underneath the annoyance he was simply just tired from all the work we have been having to do it looks as if I am not the only one who has been suffering due to this war.
Elder Drake looked at Alek for a second before speaking “Do you know how many Alphas were in the Ordinem Lupus? There were seven” he said.
This through me why tell us how many Alphas there were in the Ordinem Lupus what was the point I could have easily learned that fact. At this point my wolf decided to show up.
You’re so dense sometimes Leila look around the room and tell me what you see.
I decided to listen to my wolf and took a look around the room not understanding what she was talking about until it suddenly clicked in my mind.
No it couldn’t be.
But it was.
My eyes moved over the whole room taking in the confused, angry, tired and annoyed faces of the Alphas in the room.
All of a sudden laughter filled the room it took me a second or two to realise that I was the one that was laughing. I couldn’t hold it in for some reason and another second later and I was lying on the floor laughing hysterically.
Most of the alphas looked confused whereas Alek simply had an amused expression on his face and Alpha Dane was doing a circular motion to the side of his telling everyone he thought I was crazy.

This made me laugh even more soon I was rolling around on the floor tears coming out of my eyes. After a few minutes my laughter stopped as I took gulps full of air getting rid of the final giggles I saw the other Alphas waiting impatiently.
“Leila, honey are you sure your alright what was that all about?” as I looked into his eyes I simply saw concern.
It looks like they haven’t figured it out yet.
I just sat down in my seat softly smiling at my wolf’s comment I quietly turned to Elder Drake who I could see was trying to hold back his laughter as well this room was full of Alphas that had no idea what was going on.
“Alpha Dane if I may can I ask you as well as the other Alphas why you came here today?” Elder drake interrupted before I could answer Alpha Danes question.
Alpha Dane looked confused before he answered “Leila called us we have an alliance we had to come” he said.
“Is that the only reason?” Eder Drake asked.
“Leila called and we answered we will always answer her calls for help or a meeting” Alpha Michael answered in a matter of fact tone.
“Why? “ Elder Drake asked.
The Alphas looked at one another except for Alpha Jacobson who looked around the room then started laughing, at the sound of his laughter I knew he had figured out what everybody else hadn’t.
Before the other Alphas could ask Elder Drake anymore questions I spoke “Okay I want all of you to look around the room” I said.
As one by one all of them looked around the room I could hear them gas as they came to the realisation of what had me and Alpha Jacobson in laughing fits.
“You mean were the .........” Alpha Gabriel spoke his voice drifting of as Elder drake nodded in confirmation.
“Were what?” Alek asked.
I looked to him confused hadn’t he figured out what we were talking about.
“Alek didn’t you look around the room” As soon as I had asked the question his cheeks started to redden making the other Alphas laugh.
“No il mi amore I was a bit distracted” he said embarrassment colouring his tone.
“What?” I asked as all the alphas bellowed with laughter.
“Leila I think you are what distracted him” Alpha Smith spoke smirking.
As soon as the words registered I felt my face heat up.
“ummmmmm.......yeahhhhh ..... let’s move on” I quickly said not wanting to talk about this in front of them but this only caused their laughter to increase.
“Okay guys stop laughing, Alek count how many Alphas are in this room” I said.
After a moment he replied “There’s six” this confused me because that was definitely the wrong number then I realised something.
“Alek, sweetheart you didn’t count yourself” I smiled trying to hold my laughter in unlike the other Alphas in the room.
“Oh yeah “he blushed I couldn’t help but give him a kiss on the cheek he was so cute when he got embarrassed he looked at me shocked but then smiled.
“Okay so there are seven Alphas in this room” Alek answered.
"How many Alphas were in the Ordinem Lupus" I asked.
"There were seven But what has that......" as his voice drifted off I knew he had realised what we all know knew he looked to Elder Drake to conform his assumption.
“Yes Alpha Moretti you as well as the other Alphas in this room are the descendants of the Alphas of the Ordinem Lupus” Elder Drake spoke.
I wanted to question how he knew all of this and what we were meant to do with this knowledge but we were interrupted as the door banged open.
All heads shot towards the door as a breathless Mick spoke.
“Alpha, he’s dead”.

Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."
