“Mate” he whispered but because of our enhanced hearing everyone heard i heard gasps of shock from everyone including my pack.

The shock soon wore of and I was surrounded by my pack members who were growling at the alpha of the silver shadow pack.

He growled back his wolf coming to the surface I knew keeping a wolf away from their mate was stupid especially an alpha. I could feel for some reason annoyance at my pack members but I knew they were just trying to protect me.

I mean ever other alpha that they had met was rude arrogant and selfish there were only a few that I could count on my fingers out of 152 alphas that I got along with. The silver shadow pack growled along with their alpha supporting him.

I knew I had to end this silly growling session but what pushed into action was when Kevin whimpered. He jumped out of his father’s arms and ran to me scared and unsure of what was happening.

Ok enough was enough nobody scares my baby and gets away with it.

“Enough” my shout rang clearly throughout the clearing stopping everyone in their actions. The alpha turned his head to me shocked at the alpha tone in my voice.

I looked towards my pack members speaking low enough just for them to hear“ don’t worry no one’s going to hurt me ok back down were not making a good impression.”

I felt Kevin stop shaking and knelt with my face at the same level as his “you ok sweetie” I asked smiling at him.

“I’m okays mummy I wass jussst scareed everyone was growling” he said I could tell he was still a little scared so I gave him a little hug.

“So is that your daddy sweetie” I said pointing to the alpha to make sure.

“Yess mummy that’s daddy, do you like him mummy” I could feel the shock on my face from his unexpected question I could feel my face heat up from embarrassment.

I turned to look at the alpha he was smirking at my blush ughhhh how was I going to get through this. His face was so handsome with those rugged good looks that were to die for.

“I just met him sweetie I don’t know yet” I could see the disappointment on his face I couldn’t help but want to make him feel better.

Make pup happy, mate is here and pup I am happy.

I could feel how happy my wolf was the smile on the other alphas face told me he felt the same way. I knew I needed to talk to him without Kevin here so thought up a little distraction.

“Hey sweetie why don’t you and uncle Trevor go inside and have a snack there’s some chocolate chip biscuits I made earlier Trevor will pour you some milk yeah?” I smiled guiding him in the direction of the pack house.

“Yaaaaay cookies, race you Uncle Trevor” he said running off with Trevor chasing after him.

“Keep an eye on him Trevor “I said through the mind link.

“Don’t worry alpha i'll keep him safe” he replied calming my worries.

I then turned stepping forward towards the alpha “Hello sorry I wish we could have met on better terms but welcome to the locus pack I am alpha Leila Van Derbergh.” I spoke clearly.

He looked shocked at this revelation “you’re the alpha? “

“Yes if you have a problem with that you can leave” I spoke my tone showing the seriousness of the case. He looked in my eyes and I saw a flash of what looked like pride and amusement.

“There’s no problem I am Kelllan alpha of the silver shadow pack it’s a pleasure to meet such a beautiful alpha as you” he said smoothly.

I could feel myself blushing I didn’t know how to react most of my discussions with the opposite sex had always been friendly, brotherly or me teaching my warriors a few moves I learnt.

“I’m sure you’re wondering about how Kevin came to be here in my care?” I said.

“Yes I have been looking for him for more than a month since i've known he was taken and was following some leads but I guess he was here”.

So I told him of all that happened by the end having explained finding him in a crate with the hunters and rogues. Kelllan was furious his fists clenched I could see his wolf coming to the surface.

Damn he looked sexy as hell when he was mad especially the facts that he was upset and worried for his son made him take up more space in my heart.

I touched his cheek with my hand trying to calm him down I felt sparks along my hand signifying our bond I couldn’t help but gasp.

After a few breaths he had calmed down and took my hand from his cheek kissing it whilst saying a simple “thank you”.

I felt slightly uncomfortable the looks we were getting from both our packs I knew he sensed it as well and led me a little away closer to the next clearing closely covered by trees.

We walked both enjoying the silence as his hand held mine tightly giving it a squeeze it felt so right.

“So what’s your favourite colour” he asked all of a sudden breaking the silence.

“Blue what about you?” I smiled at the random question he had thrown at me.

“Green” he smiled “what’s your favourite food “he asked.

“Chocolate chip cookies” I said laughing.

“Chocolate cake” he smiled down at me I couldn’t help it but smile back to that smile of his made me catch my breath.

I felt the need to bring up the question of what was going to happen know I mean we are both alphas of two different packs I couldn’t help the dread that filled me.

“So what are we going to do? How are we going to make this work I mean were both alphas of two different packs?” I asked the worry showing in my eyes.

He looked at me as if I was stupid which pissed of my wolf that went from wanting to mate with him to wanting to rip him to pieces.

“Your coming to my pack to become my Luna of course what else” I felt my heart drop at the thought of leaving my pack and the people I loved.

Who would look after them if I left especially with all the rogue and hunter attacks they weren’t safe and would be extremely weak without their alpha? Does he even know what he’s asking of me?

Well I guess that’s the point he’s not asking it’s more like he’s trying to order me and I didn’t take that nicely my wolf didn’t like it either.

How dare he order us like that, we are above him not beneath him we have more power than he ever will.

My wolfs response confused me but I had no time to think about it I had to control the anger that I was feeling or this won’t end pretty.

I opened my mouth to refuse to leave but was halted by growls coming from the trees I turned my head to see my pack lined up and looking ready to pounce on my mate at any second.

They looked furious with growls escaping from their throats.

Oh hell now how was I going to stop a fight from happening.

Really will there ever be days were nobody wants to rip each other’s throat out.
