Chapter 14
The silver shadow pack wolves radiated anger and looked ready to strike though I knew if it came down to a fight my pack would win their alpha wasn’t even here.
I could see the smile on Kevin’s face as he hugged his ‘uncle’ I was still trying to comprehend what was going on. So I was completely distracted with my own thoughts when one of the silver shadow pack wolves decided to strike.
The wolf jumped towards Drew sensing his beta power I quickly moved into action jumping in front of Drew and grabbing the wolf’s throat.
I growled it echoed across the clearing causing the silver shadow pack to take a step back but they still held an offensive position.
This clear defiance told me and my wolf that they deeply cared for Kevin enough to defy an alpha. It pleased me somewhat that they cared for him so much but it still failed to answer the question of how they let the hunters and rogues take him.
Thought not all of them seemed pleased to see Kevin again.
There was also the fact that I still didn’t know who his parents were. I refocused and realised I had been squeezing the wolf’s neck and he was near unconsciousness so I threw him across the clearing to the rest of his pack.
“What do you think you’re doing attacking my beta? That was totally uncalled for if I was any other alpha you would already be dead.” I sneered at the wolf clearly showing my anger at his attack.
The wolf was holding his throat trying to catch his breath from my assault it was the beta who answered for him.
“It was not uncalled for you kidnapped Kevin from our pack and were going to use him as ransom“ the beta growled.
I almost laughed at his stupidity while I was holding in my laughter others couldn’t help but let it out that included Trevor and his mate who clutched onto each other trying to catch their breath.
The beta looked confused his eyes holding questions I knew that I would have to answer. Good had come out of the laughter the silver shadow pack no longer looked on the verge of attacking.

Instead they mirrored their beta with the same confusion.
“Do you really think that if we had kidnapped Kevin that we would call you here to form an alliance and bring Kevin with us? If we had kidnapped him don’t you think we would have kept him prisoner and not shown him to you? I so clearly asked.
The beta’s confusion had now turned to understanding Kevin who had been watching all of this now had a frown on his face.
I so desperately wanted to hug him and get rid of that frown my wolf had other ideas.
Rip him how dare that fool upset our pup look what he’s done he should die for his stupidity.
Her constant growls in my mind expressed her frustration and worry for Kevin she did not like or trust this beta. No matter what relation he had to Kevin.
Kevin tugged on the betas sleeve “Uncle Jim I don’ts like when you growls at mummy your being a meany, mummy would never hurt me she saved me and uncles Trevers and Drew’s helped her”.
I could see that Kevin’s little speech had the silver shadow pack in shock beta Jim especially I hadn’t missed how his eyes had widened at the mention of Kevin’s ‘Mummy’.
The beta knelt at Kevin’s side “Kevin who’s your mummy“ he asked trying to figure out the situation.
Kevin let go of beta Jims arm and ran towards me jumping into my open arms “this is my mummy uncle Jim, mummy meets Uncle Jim”.
I turned to see the reaction of the silver shadow pack and saw that many mouths had dropped open in surprise others simply had wide eyes at this revelation.
The beta simply said “huh” in response.
I decided that the situation needed to be dealt with I would not be having another wolf attack a pack member on my territory.
“Okay everyone listen here” my voice dripping with power “I know you think that my pack kidnapped Kevin but we did not we experienced an attack two weeks ago. We found Kevin in a wooden crate, we did not know what pack he belonged to or who his parents were so we took him in.”

I stopped to catch my breath and saw that everyone’s gaze was directed towards me and they were listening intently to what I had to say.
“I do not take kindly to attacks on any of my pack members” sending a glare in the direction of the wolf that had attacked.
“Kevin has become a part of our family and we care for him we did not know he was a part of your pack. Though that does not justify you attacking my pack without even knowing the truth.”
I could see that many of the silver shadow pack wolves had dropped their heads and whined in understanding of their mistakes.
The beta looked towards me and spoke “I am deeply sorry Alpha Van Derbergh we did not mean to cause such a problem do you accept our apology?”
I looked in his eyes and saw that he indeed was sorry for his mistake “it is fine no one was hurt so there is nothing to be sorry about“ I answered. I could see that my answer had relaxed the silver shadow pack wolves.
He looked into my eyes I could see the surprise in his but there was still something bothering me “beta Jim where is your alpha”.
“He was out looking for Kevin so couldn’t come to this meeting so sent me instead but I contacted him as soon as I saw Kevin he should be here shortly.” Beta Jim answered.
“Ummmmm can you please tell him that we did not kidnap him I have a feeling he is go on a killing spree as soon as he steps on my land”. I answered worried for the safety of my pack.
“Your right I should tell him” beta Jim answered hurriedly.
“Wait why was the alpha looking for Kevin?” I mean normally alphas were not bothered about missing pack children they definitely wouldn’t go around looking for them.
Beta Jim turned his head at me looking surprised and smirked “obviously the alpha would look for his own son”.
Shocked I looked towards Kevin and realised why everyone called his dad the boss.
I could hear pounding of paws on the ground and new the alpha was nearly here for some reason my wolf was getting excited.
I tried to find out why but I couldn’t understand the jumble of words she was saying.
Soon enough the alpha appeared he had the most beautiful black fur that was glossy and chocolate eyes that looked exactly like Kevin.
The alpha shifted quickly pulling on clothes behind a tree he walked out Kevin jumped out of my arms and ran to him with a loud shout of “daddy”.
The alpha dropped to his knees and hugged Kevin tightly it gave me the opportunity to look him over.
He was tall and topped 6 foot with a lean muscled body there were similarities between him and Kevin. You could see that they were related.
The embrace ended with the alpha asking “are you okay Kevin you’re not hurt are you?” I couldn’t help but fell that his voice was incredibly sexy. What????? Sexy what the hell is wrong with me why do I think the silver shadow pack alpha is sexy?
“I’m fine daddy mummy took good care of me “Kevin giggled.
Shock crossed the alphas face “Mummy?” he asked.
Kevin giggled again and pointed towards me and said “mummy” the alpha turned his head towards me. It was the first time we had looked into each other’s eyes properly.
I could just feel myself getting lost in his eyes they were so beautiful it was like I was in heaven looking at my perfect forever. Then my wolf whispered one word that changed everything.
Mate
Holy crap the alpha of the silver shadow pack and Kevin’s father is my soul mate.
