Mum asked, glancing down at my outfit.

"Yes mum," I said, packing my hair in a ponytail. "Caelum is tutoring me today."

"Oh, I understand." She smirked knowingly. "This Caelum guy again, huh?"

I groaned. The fact that my mother was an avid shipper of Daesyn and Caelum made me weak. She believed that sooner or later, Caelum was going to confess the feelings we both knew he didn't have, to me.

She wiped a fake tear away from her eyes. "They grow up so fast."

I scowled at her playfully, picking my bag up from the couch. "Stop teasing me!"

"Okay, okay." She threw her hands up in surrender, dropped the rag she was holding, and came to stand in front of me. "You've been wearing clothes with a touch of red or plain red these past few days. What's happening?"

My cheeks immediately flushed in embarrassment as the reason for the sudden change in colors of my clothing filled my mind.

Caelum was not the reason.

Sure, Emery told me that Caelum's best color was red but I really wasn't wearing red just to get him to notice me.

I swear, I wasn't.

"Does this have something to do with Caelum?" she taunted and my cheeks flamed.

"No, mum," I defended weakly. "I have to go now though, see you later." I fled out of the house without hearing her response. Regardless of my escape, I still heard a faint 'I love you' from her which made me smile. Things between us were finally going back to normal.

"Wow, Daesyn." Emery wiggled her perfectly drawn brows, stretching her long legs on the couch. "Red again?"

"I didn't wear it because of Caelum," I said. "I swear."

She wrinkled her nose as she picked the remote from the coffee table. "Yeah, we know."

"Don't you find it weird that I have a crush on your brother?" I asked, turning to look at her. "And I even talk about my crush on him to you?"

She shrugged. "I completely ship Daelum as long as the private details are kept private."

I nudged her sides with my arm, my face heating up. "Shut up!"

"You're so violent, Daesyn." She groaned. "I'll get back at you."

I smirked. "You can't do anything about it."

"Watch and see." She grinned evilly. "Watch and see."

"Emery," I heard Caelum's voice and the beating of my heart increased. "I have to tutor her, go somewhere else."

"Go to the library!" Emery yelled. "You've been tutoring her there."

"Just go," he retorted and I stylishly turned to look at him. Caelum still managed to look so good in sweatpants and a T-shirt. How?

"No," she muttered, standing. "I am not going."

Caelum glared at her but said nothing then turned to me. "Let's go."

"See you later, Em." I sent her a small smile, wiping my sweating palms on my jeans before standing.

She leaned in and whispered a 'keep it PG' in my ear. I flushed madly, flipping the middle finger as she cackled loudly.

"What was that about?" Caelum asked as we walked up the stairs.

"N-nothing," I stuttered nervously. Why was this happening to me?

"Daesyn has a crush!" I heard Emery's voice from the living room and I sighed. It was obviously her way of getting back at me.

"You have a crush?" Caelum asked curiously, shaking his head. "Who is the miserable guy?"

"Zayn Malik," I muttered. I mean, Zayn Malik was pretty adorable.

He grumbled something underneath his breath before tightening his lips. We hadn't talked about what happened the other day in the cafeteria, and I'd already zeroed my mind on that. Caelum didn't need to say it, but I knew it was one of those things we were going to pretend never happened.

I scowled at his sudden change of mood but said nothing either.

The library was a bit small, but cozy and beautiful. It looked like an extra living room with its plain white walls, but there was a porch swing, some light fixtures, and the usual bookshelves. I never had enough time to go through all the details, but that was probably because I wasn't much of a book lover.

Caelum and I sat under the chandelier like we'd been doing every other time we came to the library, and I let a small smile slip when I realized it was like our thing.

He collected the book and placed it on his drawing book as he began the teaching. I found it really hard to concentrate, though.

Caelum was leaning down and his hair was falling to his eyes. All I wanted to do at that point was to push his hair back and run my hand through it. The fact that he smelled so good didn't even help me one bit. I sighed as I let a small smile slip. Why couldn't our imaginations come to life?

"Do you understand?"

I swear I didn't hear one thing. "Yes."

He stretched out the book towards me and pointed at a question. "Solve this."

He was already skimming through the pages of his drawing book—that same one I so badly wanted to go through—so I returned my attention back to the question and pretended I could solve it.

After minutes of my idle staring, I sheepishly averted my gaze from my book and turned to look at him. "Can you explain it again? It doesn't look as easy as it did when you were explaining."

He raised an eyebrow and pursed his lips as he collected my notebook. "Maybe next time you should listen when I'm explaining."

What?

"I listened," I said. "I just didn't get it."

"You probably didn't listen enough," he muttered.

I chuckled in disbelief. "What's your problem with me?"

"I don't have a problem with you," he said, not taking his eyes off of the book.

"Then you have a problem," I said.

"Drop it, and let's focus on Calculus."

"Fine," I said. "Let's focus on Calculus because I really don't even want to know what your problem is." It felt like the old Caelum once again. He was in a sour mood, and of course, Daesyn was the one he preferred to take everything out on. Cool.

I dragged the book from his grip, flipping through the pages and attempting to solve what I didn't even understand. And maybe it was my fault for not listening, but that didn't mean he could talk like that.

His gaze on me was unwavering, so I turned back to him. "You know what your problem is?"

"I don't know," he said. "Why don't you tell me."

"You're a brat," I said. "You have problems of your own just like every other person, but you don't see us yelling at others just because things aren't going our way."

The sparks in his eyes lit up. I didn't think he was ever going to be at rest until he had some kind of argument with me. From the moment we'd met, all he'd ever wanted was to look for ways to make us fight.

His eyes flitted from my lips, and back to my eyes. "You look like you want to kiss me."

Fucking hell. "I don't."

"Great," he said, picking his drawing book up from beside him and standing. "Because tutoring is fucking over."
