《You're the guy my dad never shut up about? | S. Rogers [1]》70. If only

It appears that Galilea's new information has gotten to the whole team because they seem more determined to find Hydra. Steve wants to save his best friend and Tony wants to seek out justice for his parents. Or as Galilea calls it 'revenge'.
They have been working day and night for nearly a week, but they still won't let Galilea near the information they've gathered. She's healed. The sleeve on her wrist is off and her ribs are healed. Although she sometimes feels slight pain. Her powers, she's been working on them and they seem to be stable. She can control them and are strong.
Galilea sat on the carpeted floor in the living room playing with a string like she did with Bucky. She was passing her fingers through the string to form the design and letting it go and forming it again. As she was doing that, she would be telling herself the ten words "Cyclone. Shield. Museum. Line. Howling. Alley. Rogers. Two. Sneak. Stark Expo"
The Avengers, all the girls are gone with the exception of Natasha. Sam and Rhodey are also gone– are staring at Galilea from the table they're sitting at.
"Is she okay?" Bruce quietly asked.
"I think so" Steve mumbled. Galilea continued to play with the string and say the words.
"What do those words even mean?" Thor asked.
"The kid says they help her remember who she is. Apparently her and Bucky came up with a series of words to keep them from going into killing mode" Tony informed.
"They got Galilea to go into assassin mode?" Natasha asked aghast.
"Peter says that Gali didn't say it in so many words. Actually he said 'it was what Gali didn't say' So, I'm assuming yes" Tony finished off his water.
"Oh my god, assassin mode Galilea? How would that look like? I can't picture her like that. Like the Winter Soldier" Bruce placed his elbow on the table and rested his chin on his hand as he stared into the distance.
Tony let out a chuckle "then you should be lucky you didn't meet seventeen year old Galilea. She could kill you with a flower" Tony told the group.
"Really?" Steve asked.
"Oh yeah. She was a high school junior, dating a guy named Peter D'Amico who I did not like"
"Why?" Bruce interrupted.
"I don't know. I just didn't like the guy. I never really liked him when he was a kid either. They were like in fifth grade together. Ah, now I remember why I don't like him" Tony nodded.
"Why?" The team asked.
"Little jerk questioned my intelligence"
"Like we all do from time to time" Bruce joked. Tony gave him a look.
"Hey, speaking of the kid, where is he? I haven't seen him in like a week" Clint spoke up. The other team members looked around trying to locate him but didn't.
"School" Tony nonchalantly said.
"School? It's still summer break" Clint noted.
"No. School started a week ago. Don't you remember that Galilea was talking to him about his school schedule? The kid is taking like three AP classes. He may look stupid but he's not" Tony informed.
"With Peter gone this place is too quiet. Where are the others?" Natasha questioned.
"Pepper is with her mom" Tony answered.
"Kami went to annoy her brother" Bruce followed.
"Jane is with Darcy and Selvig doing... science things" Thor wasn't sure how to phrase it.
"Gali is over there" Steve motioned to the living room where Galilea is still playing with the string and repeating the words.

"My baby is right here" Clint smiled at Natasha.
"Rhodey is... I don't know where Rhodey is" Tony confessed.
"Sam is trying to get Maria to go on a date with him" Steve added.
"I don't think that's going to end well" Natasha mumbled. The others agreed.
"I think it's going to end well" Galilea said from the end of the table. The Avengers jumped in surprise.
"You're going to give me a heart attack" Clint placed a hand over his heart. Gali cracked a smile.
"What do you mean by that?" Steve curiously asked his girlfriend.
"Maria Hill is playing hard to get" Galilea informed as she sat in an empty chair next to Steve and placed her legs over his lap. She still has the string in her hands and is absentmindedly playing with it.
"Well I'm sure Sam will accept the challenge. Ten bucks says they'll go on their first date by the end of the month" Tony made a bet. Galilea rolled her eyes at her brother.
"I say they'll go on their first date next month" Clint challenged.
"Do we have a bet?" Tony turned to the archer.
"We have a bet" Clint nodded "Loser gives the winner ten bucks" they shook on it.
"Oh my god" Bruce muttered as he passed a hand through his dark curly hair.
They were quiet for a moment before Thor spoke up "Gali, you keep repeating the same ten words over and over again. What do they mean exactly?"
Galilea looked up from the string and her brown eyes scanned the faces of the six people there. She knows they're curious about it. She knows that they know about the words but they don't know what they mean. Galilea sighed before answering.
"James and I talked a lot. I was trying to get him to remember more of himself. I told him some of the countless stories my dad told me about him and Steven" she motioned to Steve "well apparently some words triggered memories. Cyclone" she said the first word of the ten word combo. They nodded in understanding "that time Bucky and Steve were in Coney Island and he made this weak punk-"
"Hey!" Steve playfully glared at Gali but she ignored him.
"Ride the cyclone and he couldn't handle it and threw up" the members of the team sniffled their laughter but Tony let out a loud laugh "Shield is for Steve's shield. Bucky remembers him picking it up before he fell off the train. Museum is about the Captain America museum they opened"
"You told him about that?" Steve interrupted.
"I also told him about Tony trying to donate you to the museum and then trying to ship you off to the Smithsonian" Galilea added. Steve went red and Tony laughed again at the memory of that "Line is from, I'm with you till the end of the line" Steve gasped lightly at that.
Bucky told him that after the funeral of his mother. He asked Steve to move in with him but he refused. That sentence was something they shared.
"Howling for the Howling Commandos. Alley is because he would find Steve in an alley getting his ass beat. Rogers is again for Steve. The last name of his best friend. Two is him and I. We became friends in that place. Sneak, actually he came up with that one. He said it was because I sneak in his cell and help him trying to remember. That I could get caught but I still sneak out" Galilea has a faint smile on her face "and Stark Expo. That's where he saw my dad for the first time. Also because that's my last name. Stark" she gave a tense smile.

That's the first time she explains the words. They may seem random, even after the explanation, but those ten words mean something to Bucky and Galilea. They remind them. They help them. They calm them. She unconsciously says them half the time, and the other half she says them to keep her focused and remind her of Bucky.
It all comes back to the same thing... They have to save Bucky.
Galilea went on to explain to them how Bucky is turned into the Winter Soldier and how the words they came up with help him on snapping back to being Bucky. She also told them how Castiel has a trigger name for her. Little Galilea or little G.
She didn't say them out loud, she wrote them down but told them not to say them because if they do then she'll become submissive and will cry out for Castiel no matter what. She also explained to them how the whole shield on the mind thing works and doesn't know if it's still on Bucky or not.
"That's why we have to find him. We need to find him before he completely disappears" she told the Avengers.
"We don't know where he is. We have searched and even used that tablet" Natasha pointed at the infamous tablet in the middle of the table "it's like they're off the grid" she finished.
Galilea bit her bottom lip and thought about it. Nobody is ever off the grid. One way or another a person is always found. Whether in a day or months or years, people are always found.
"If only we had some kind of super high tech advanced locating system. More high tech than what we already have" Steve mused.
If only.
Stark tower is completely quiet. There are no people walking around and being loud. Everything is securely locked and safe. The only light in the tower is that of the moon shining in through the windows. It would be pitch black outside if it weren't for the fact that they're in New York.
Everyone in the tower is sleeping with the exception of the youngest person that lives there. Galilea sat on a couch in her floor level and thought. She can't sleep. Over the last couple of days she's become increasingly worried about Bucky.
She promised him that she would take him out of that place. She promised him. Fortunately the Avengers have new leads and now know which direction to head. But something has been keeping Galilea up for a couple days.
Ever since Steve said that thing about 'super high tech advanced locating system', something in the back of Gali's head bothered her like an itch she can't scratch. If only. That was her thought at the time but then the following day she was watching Pawn Stars on the History Channel and she saw something that clicked in her head.
It was another of Chumlee's stupid moves. It was the episode where he breaks a vase or something because he was pretending to be a ninja. The only reason they knew it was Chumlee who broke it, was because they have cameras in the storage room.
If only we had some kind of super high tech advanced locating system. Steve's words echoed in her head.
She continued watching the History Channel, the words still echoing in her head, when a commercial for that show Vikings came on. Then as if on cue, Thor joins and takes a seat in the armchair.
Gali's eyes went from the tv to Thor, from Thor to the Viking on tv. Galilea had a book on Norse Mythology when she was little. Stories about Thor and the rainbow bridge... She read those stories when she was a kid. Thor is a Viking, isn't he? She thought. Thor. Lady Sif and the Warriors Three.
She then began to remember the stories Thor told her. Stories of his friends back in Asgard, their names and what they do. Another episode of Pawn Stars began and Galilea's mind was going one thousand miles per hour.
If only we had some kind of super high tech advanced locating system. Chumlee doing something stupid and nobody being there to see him. Thor eating an apple and laughing at the man in the tv. High tech advanced locating system.
Nobody watching Chumlee. Thor the Viking. Advanced... Watching... Viking... Advanced... Seeing... Thor... Asgard... Someone in Asgard who sees everything... Nine Realms... Earth... Locating... See... Heimdall.
It slapped Galilea across the face so hard, she actually had to use her inhaler to be able to breathe. Heimdall can see and hear everything in the Nine Realms. Maybe he can help them with locating Bucky.
She then began to formulate a plan and has been for the following days. Galilea heard scuffling from her room and only turned her head when Steve was standing next to her on the couch.
"It's three in the morning" he groggily said.
"Thanks for the update. You can go back to sleep" Galilea answered.
"Gali" he sighed and kneeled down beside her.
Through the light coming through the window, she could see Steve's sleepy face, his tired eyes, his hair all messed up, courtesy of Galilea. His bottom lip stuck out in an adorable pout, so adorable that Galilea resisted the urge to lean in and kiss him.
"I can't sleep" she whispered.
"Come back to bed then. I'll try to get you to sleep" he murmured.
Galilea sniggered and brushed her fingers through Steve's hair "You've been spending way too much time with Anthony"
Steve hummed and closed his eyes, enjoying the sensation of Gali playing with his hair. He began to drop his head as sleep was beginning to overcome him. Galilea smiled softly.
"For a man who spent seventy years sleeping, you sure are tired"
"It's your fault" he sleepily murmured.
"My fault?" She softly asked. Steve hummed in response "well I didn't hear you complaining" even in Steve's sleepy state he managed to blush.
Gali loves to find new ways on making Steve blush. He's so innocent and still on a learning curve about everything he's missed. Gali slowly moved her hand from Steve's head down to his neck where she saw dark marks. Her fingers gently brushed over them as she remembers how her mouth was on his neck just a couple hours ago.
Her hand slipped down his smooth skin and rested on the back of his neck. She threaded her fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck and smiled as he was nodding off to sleep "I love you" she whispered.
Steve smiled small, grabbed Gali's arm and planted a soft kiss on her forearm "I love you too, kitten" he whispered back. Galilea blushed at the pet name "bed... Sleep" he murmured.
"Alright" Gali stood up, Steve's shirt she's wearing, fell down her thighs. She grabbed her boyfriends hand, pulled him up and made their way back to the room.
"I really like it when you wear my clothes" Steve confessed.
"I know" Galilea smirked.

His elaborate clothing has been torn to ribbons, yet his skin remains unblemished. His face is peaceful, and tucked into the hand lying across his chest can be seen a solitary playing card. He is a Ludum Haeres. The last remnant of a Summoner. Numbered among those few capable of changing their destinies. The unseen rulers of the world known as Vesperia, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. The woman knows none of this. And so, she picks up the card... This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

Chimera
Fate isn't always so kind, yet to some, this lack of fortune may be just what leads them to greatness. Chimera tells the tale of one such ill-fated being, of how she fought and grew as an individual, walking down the path she chose, and of how she will one day ascend past this mystical world of magic and monsters to achieve the greatness that was promised to her. - - - Author's Note: Hello there! I hope you'll give my first ever series "Chimera" a read! I DON'T want to make this series into a full-blown LitRPG or wuxia, but a fantasy series that dabbles into both genres. I hope I don't betray your expectations! Please enjoy reading, and thank you!
