I woke up this morning extremely anxious

I could barely eat without feeling the urge to spew my guts out

I tried not to show it but I don't know if it worked

I was currently in Natasha's room with her and Wanda getting ready

I was standing in front of the large vanity and doing my hair and makeup

"Your very quiet, everything alright baby" Natasha asks

"Mhm" I say trying to do my eyeliner with slightly shaking hands

I'm so focused on trying not to be nervous that I don't hear the door open

When I feel a hand on my shoulder I yank it off of me and pin the person to the wall with my hand against their throat

Only to realized that I attacked Sam

My eyes go wide and I instantly move back

I turn away from them and try to calm my breathing

I can see them all staring at me in the mirror

"I'm sorry, I guess I'm just a little on edge" I say making eye contact with Sam in the mirror

I go back to doing my makeup trying to calm down

Steve walks over to me turns me around and takes the eyeliner away from me

He drags me over to the bed and makes me sit down with all my soulmates

"We get that you're nervous, but there's no reason to be darling" Steve says

"Easy for you to say, you guys do this kinda stuff all the time, I work in the shadows, hidden. I don't do public." I tell them

"Tell you what, why don't you just have Wanda calm you down with her powers. She can take away a little bit of your anxiety" Tony says

"It's not that easy" I tell him

"Sure it is, you just have to sit here, she'll do the rest" Natasha says

I can see Bucky, Wanda, Thor and Loki looking at each other

I just shake my head

"C'mon sweetness, it won't hurt or anything, it'll ju—" Tony starts but I cut him off

"It doesn't work like that ok! Not on me, it doesn't work like that, it just doesn't" I say standing up and going back over to the mirror to finish my makeup

I didn't mean to snap I was just agitated

"Why wouldn't it work on you" Natasha asks carefully

I stay silent

"Her ring. It blocks her telepathic abilities, it also blocks others telepathic abilities when used against her" Bucky says

"And your absolutely positive you can't take it off?" Tony asks

If looks could kill he'd be about 6 feet under

I can't believe he would say that

He know how I feel about my abilities, and now, just as we're about to tell the entire world that I was their normal high school mate, he wants me to take it off

I just scoff and shake my head in disbelief

I see the clock out the corner of my eye

"We're gonna be late" I say as I walk past all of them to the living room

I grab my purse, phone and keys and wait for them

We rode the elevator in complete silence

When we were about 10 minutes away from where the press conference was being held Tony opens his mouth

"Listen sweetness I–" I cut him off

"Just shush, please" I say looking out the window

"C'mon baby just–"

"You know I really don't wanna talk about this. So we're just gonna stop alright" I say with my bitch smile before turning back to the window

When we get there we step out and are immediately attacked by camera flashes

It takes me by surprise and I take a small step back

Luckily Steve is there and he steadies me by putting a hand on my hip

We continue walking with his hand on my back gently leading me

When we get inside there are a bunch of people with recorders, cameras, and notepads

"Hello everyone thanks for joining us today. We have all decided that it's time to reveal a secret that we have been keeping from you" Tony starts

He turns and motions for me to go stand next to him

When I do he wraps and arm around my waist which makes me want to punch him in the face

"This is Loreila, and she is our last soulmate" he says

The room burst out in loud chaos

People all screaming at once and cameras flashing non stop

"We will now take a few questions" Tony says

"How long ago did you find your mate?" A kind looking woman asks

"About 3 months now" Pietro says with a proud smile

"What does Ms. Loreila do exactly?" A man asks

"Well I'm a senior in high school but I'm going to be graduating in a couple of months" I say with a smile trying not to act nervous

I was actually quite surprised

Press is always known to tear apart people at these things so I'm kinda shocked that they're being very respectful and kind

Oh wait, I spoke too soon

"Are you at all concerned that Loreila could just be using you. I mean come on, you're the avengers and she's just a high schooler, do you think she takes advantage of your money or popularity?" Says the bitch with brown hair and blue eyes

I am angry

Trust me I am, but more then that I'm embarrassed

Is that what people are gonna think of me from now on

I don't cry very often, but in that moment I wanted to run out the building and cry

Or beat the bitch up

I couldn't decide

"Absolutely not. I think I can advocate for all of us when I say that we know Loreila isn't like that. She is kind, selfless and loving. So whatever idea you have of her being some sort of gold digger, bury it. She is anything but and we all know it" Steve says a little angrily

"Thank you all but we're done here" Tony says before we all start walking back to the car

I close my eyes and lean back in my seat

When I open them I see all my mates staring at me

"What? I'm fine" I say shortly
