"Daddy, I'm cold," Hobi whined, and Namjoon picked him up in his arms, bouncing him up and down gently.
"There, all better," he cooed, and Hobi tucked his head into Namjoon's neck before falling asleep.
Similarly, Yoongi was sleeping, curled up on the ground against Jin, who was crying quietly.
Namjoon bent down, still holding Hobi with one arm, and ruffled Jin's hair. "Hey, sweetie, don't cry. It wasn't- well, yeah, it was your fault, but this is a learning experience, okay? No harm, no foul."
Jin sniffled. "B-but I set the f-fire alarm off, Daddy."
"But it was just your first try at cooking, right? Nobody gets it right on the first try. I bet those eggs would have been delicious. I mean, before they started smoking and setting off the alarm."
Jin cracked a small smile. "You think so?"
Namjoon nodded, smiling at his oldest son. "I know so."
"So Daddy will eat whatever I make next? For real? Promise?" Jin asked excitedly.
Namjoon winced but nodded. "Sure, Jin."
The firemen came out of the house. "All clear, sir. You're lucky there wasn't any extensive damage. Mainly just smoke. The house will smell a bit strange for a few days, so I'd recommend keeping windows open and ventilation systems running."
Namjoon smiled, standing up, still holding Hobi. "Thank you very much."
The fireman nodded, tipping his helmet before they drove away.
"Namjoon."
Namjoon turned to his wife, but then he noticed that Yoongi had rolled over so he was face down. Namjoon quickly flipped him back up so he could breathe easily.
"Namjoon," his wife said again, and he started turning, but then he noticed that Jin was climbing on top of Yoongi.
"Nonononono," Namjoon said, quickly pulling them apart.

"Namjoon."
Namjoon finally looked over, apologetic. "Sorry, dear. What did you need?"
"I'm leaving," she said.
"Where are you going?" he asked, looking down at Hobi's cute sleeping face with a smile. "Oh, if you're out, could you pick up some more groceries? If everything smells like smoke, we probably won't be able to eat them-"
"I'm leaving. For good."
Namjoon shifted his eyes back to her. "What?" Then his eyes slid back down to the kids. "Can we talk about this alone? I don't want to have this conversation in front of them."
She frowned, ignoring him and staring at Hobi, Yoongi, and Jin, who she had thought was asleep. "I'm leaving you. I can't do this anymore, Namjoon."
"Do what?" he asked, smiling painfully. "Be a mother? Be a wife?"
"Both," she said. "I wanted kids. But there's just too many of them, always running around and breaking things and scaring off our sitters and setting off fire alarms. It's madness, Namjoon. Can't you see that?"
Namjoon looked down at them, but he didn't see madness. He just saw love.
"And I can't be a wife to you anymore either because you can't be a husband to me."
"What?" Namjoon looked at her. "What are you saying? I have never touched or even looked at another woman-"
"You haven't touched or even looked at me, Namjoon! It's always about the kids with you! You don't have any room for me because you're so focused on them!" She bit down on her teeth. "I'm not saying I need all of your time, but you didn't give me any."
Namjoon nodded silently to himself before looking up at her. "Who is it?"
"What?"
"The guy you're sleeping with. Who is he?"
She tightened her lips. "Goodbye, Namjoon."
He laughed humorlessly. "Don't you have to pack a bag or something?"
"I already did. It's been sitting in my car for weeks. You never noticed it, even when you were in my car." She got in and slammed the door. Then she drove off.
Jin watched her go before looking at Namjoon. "Daddy? Where is Mommy going?"
Namjoon swallowed before smiling tightly. "She's just going to buy groceries, Jin."
"Oh." Jin looked up at Namjoon. "Daddy?"
"Yes, Jin?"
"Where are Jiminie, Taehyungie, and Jungkookie?"
"Shit," Namjoon swore, handing Hobi to Jin before running into the house to grab his three extra children.
