Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. The Alien's Retaliation
The novel takes place in an alternate universe that is brimming with life. There are a lot of planets were life has greatly developed, as many civilizations were born. Fearsome aliens and strange creatures inhabit the space, and at the same time wars and conflicts are not such a rare sight. On a remote planet, ignorant of everything, Xeno is living a hard and monotonous life, waiting for time to make its course. However once again the mysteries of the universe will present before his eyes, changing his life completely. Follow Xeno on a long journey through the vast space, as he will seek the strength and knowledge necessary to uncover the secrets of his new gained origins. The narration has been changed to third person from chapter 24. However there will still be POV changes every so often. This is an original work and at the same time my first novel, as such constructive criticism is welcomed. English is not my first language too, feel free to point out any mistakes you may find. So, first things first, this here is a magical girl thing. There are girls in it, they have magical abilities, fight supervillains (who have magical abilities, too, but in a more menacing way, like superpowers), and also do girly stuff. But it's not for children. Or at least not entirely. The idea is, it should be cute, but at the same time serious. Cute-serious, yeah… So, this is experimental for me. I'm planning to make short updates for as long as I can keep it up or until the plot resolves itself, whichever comes first. Most of all, I'm planning to not overthink or overedit things as much as I usually do, so there are bound to be mistakes and inconsistencies. I'll try my best to keep them to a minimum, though. But if you notice something, please feel free to tell me!
