《Welcome To Demon School! Ryūko-chan & Iruma-kun [Volume I]》Chapter XI Story II [The Battler's Challenge]

Ryūko, Iruma and their three demon friends were at the cafeteria having lunch together as usual. "Wow! A meal!" Exclaimed Iruma, "It's so much fancier!" "Well, I'm hoping that our drinks aren't alcoholic, judging by how I find this drink familiar-looking." Said Ryūko thinking of how her drink reminds her of a glass of red wine. Well, they're not wrong about that; the stuff the twins ate as consisted of unidentified food that looked a little like curry. The meal in front of them looks like a Salisbury steak.
This is one of the perks of raising your ranks. According to Asmodeus, the food you order depends on your rank; so the higher the rank, the fancier and tastier the food is. "It's so good!" Said Iruma. "I'm not suprised, considering the meals we had back at the mansion." Said Ryūko emotionlessly before taking a bite, "The quality of the dish is higher compare to the previous Alef meals." "Good for you, Ryūko and Iruma-chi!" Said Clara while Asmodeus and Lavande sported smiles on their faces.
Ryūko took a sniff of her drink and noticed that it doesn't smell like alcohol before spinning the glass in her fingertips and sipping the drink. "I need to be careful with what I drink." Warned Ryūko to herself, "My demon half is still unidentified, but I can tell that if I'm in my new spider form soon, I can't ingest caffeine or alcohol, considering both making me drunk and messing up my webs." What happens if she did consume those substances as a spider demon? She will be if she ingest caffeine, whereas she'll if she ingest alcohol.
(Author's Note: Just like regular spiders, Arachnes and Jorogomos can have these effects, so be careful if you consider making a spider-based OC.)
Iruma looked around and noticed that the cafeteria looked so empty without another student, besides the group, around the area. "But I wonder why aren't there many people here." Said Iruma, "I've never seen the first-year cafeteria this empty." "Well, you see..." Asmodeus was about to continue until the group saw three demon girls (along with the alien-looking one) suddenly standing next to their table. Obviously, they were here for Asmodeus and Lavande, since they leaned against the table to take a closer look of the top students and completely disregarded Ryūko and Iruma's presence and squished both bluenettes underneath them. "" Exclaimed the pink haired girl. "" Complimented the dark blue haired one. "" Requested the blond demon. "There's finally a guy and his girl who are in my league." Commented the alien-looking demon. Asmodeus and Lavande noticed that Ryūko and Iruma were in uncomfortable positions and the kuudere was getting irritated. "Does anyone of these b***** know that we're f****** over here?!" Though Ryūko, clearly angry with the situation. "" Scolded Asmodeus. The girls leaned back a little, enough for the twins to breathe.
"My lady, my lord, are you hurt?" Asked Lavande. "We're fine..." Said Iruma. "Ryūko-chan? Iruma-kun?" Asked the pink haired girl. "You're here?" Added the dark blue haired one. "Obviously..." Groaned Ryūko in being uncomfortable, "You girls really don't know how to look before you leap, do you?" "We're sorry!" Apologized the dark blue haired girl, "We didn't see you!" The blonde demon realised who they were and had a look of disgust. "Hey, aren't Ryūko and Iruma... The super evil demons who have teachers and becks at call, controlled the Guardian of Cutthroat Valley, and attack their fellow classmate?!" Asked the blond demon. "" Said Iruma. "They'll attack you if you get too close!" Warned the blond. Ryūko's eye widened as she slammed her fist on the table. "" Yelled Ryūko angrily with a dark aura surrounding her, "" The other two girls backed away and feared her aura growing darker. Ryūko was clearly angry and wasn't going to have the blond demon to have the tale written in her words so simply, "" "" Said Iruma, "" Ryūko got shot with the words about her eyes as her aura faded. She took out her dagger to look at her face: Iruma was right! It appears that Ryūko's next form is developing quickly; two extra pairs of eyes have appeared.

"I let anger consume me and these eyes appeared!" Thought Ryūko, "My next form is growing closer!" "I have disgraced myself once more. I'll punish myself later when I get home." Sighed Ryūko. Iruma was shocked to hear that she'll kill herself later. "" Said Iruma, "" "What? But I mean... Your ranks are Alef, right?" Asked the pink haired girl, "Oh, whatever then." The girls then continued to gush over Asmodeus and Lavande after they pushed then out of the way.
"Asmodeus and Félin-sama! Your Dalet (4) badges are so wonderful!"
Lavande: "Thank you, ladies."
"What's the Misfit Class like?"
Lavande: "To answer that, it can be troublesome, but the students there are very interesting."
"Want to get on a scale of love with me?"
Lavande: "How must we respond to such a question?"
And there goes Lavande being Lavande; able to occupy her fans with replies that answer their questions, although some fan questions can be weird. Clara and Asmodeus helped Ryūko and Iruma up before Clara puffed her cheeks at the girls saying: "You're wrong! Ryūko and Iruma-chi became a Bet (2) the other day!" The fan-girls looked confused until they took a look at Ryūko and Iruma's Bet badges on their collar and sleeve. "You're right!" Said the pink haired girl, "Soory about that! We jumped the gun." "Hmph. Like I want to talk with your blond b**** anyways." Huffed Ryūko standing with her additional eyes gone while still being angry. "W-Why are you so cold?" Asked the insulted blond struck by tge kuudere's remaining anger. "The parents of mine and my brother were stupid enough to use both for money while they never worked themselves and sold us off." Said Ryūko with a deep and a voice similiar to Kalego. "" Apologised the blonde girl, "But getting to Bet already is pretty impressive!" Then, those three ushered them to go chat with them.
"You should come talk to us."
"Now that I get a better look, you're kinda cute, Iruma-kun. And you're kinda cool, Ryūko-chan."
Suddenly, a sound of a fire alarm resonated around the cafeteria. Ryūko believed it could have been a fire occurance or something similiar to escape from. The girls gave their goodbyes as they left off in a hurry. "They were pretty intense." Said Iruma. "By intense, you mean inconsiderate." Growled Ryūko. "H-Hey, she did apologise to you, but why are you still so mad?" Asked Iruma. "Honestly, how dare they treat you like that, Ryūko and Iruma-sama/Lady Ryūko and Sir Iruma?" Questioned Asmodeus and Lavande, "Though I guess it can't be helped if they thought you were an Alef. Is something wrong?" "N-No..." Said Iruma, "Though, Onē-chan might have a different reply." "Obviously. I can't believe that b**** made up that so-called true story." Said the web-slinging girl. "Looks like ranks determine your power and superiority." "But why did they leave in such a hurry?" Asked Iruma. "Oh, right. Please look at this." Said Asmodeus holding out a flyer, "I brought you to the cafeteria because I wanted to talk to you about this." "I believe this is similar with Co-Curriculum Activities or in other places, clubs." Thought Ryūko, "I better not use those human world words in front of them."

Battlers
"Group activities where you're with upperclassmen... " Said Iruma. "Clubs?" Asked Asmodeus. "Chubs?" Misheard Clara. Ryūko facepalmed as she thought: "Iruma, stop using human world words for goodness sake!" "That might be a word with similiar definitions from another realm." Said Lavande. "Clubs, huh? Onē-chan and I were always so busy to join one." Said Iruma, "We were interested, but never got to join." "If you're interested, I shall accompany you!" Said Asmodeus and Lavande, "Let us get you to Gimel (3)... no/nay, instantly to Dalet (4)! I'm sure this will help you raise your ranks, Ryūko and Iruma-sama/Lady Ryūko and Sir Iruma!" "" Said Clara. "Oh yeah, ranks..." Said Iruma as he touched his ranking badge before his mind came in, "I was just thinking about them as practice to create goals for myself and Onē-chan and I worked really hard to become a Bet (2). I wonder if rising to Gimel (3) should be my next goal, of course Onē-chan wants to be the best. I just feel like we're going with the flow again, but now I know how exciting it is to concentrate on one thing. I might be able to find a true goal through these Battlers." Ryūko smiled at his brother as they nod in the identical thoughts. After all, great minds think alike. "Right now, we want to try new things." Thought both bluenettes before bringing their final decisions out loud, "Yeah/Yes, we'd love to see these Battlers!"
Clara was cheering in happiness while Asmodeus and Lavande bowed saying: "As you wish. Now that's settled, Ryūko and Iruma-sama/Lady Ryūko and Sir Iruma..." "Yes?" Asked the twins. "Please have a seat here." The demon subordinates made Ryūko and Iruma sit on cushions on a table, seiza-style. "Asmodeus-san. What is this about?" Asked Ryūko, deciding to avoid asking Lavande after that incident during the Execution Cannonball examination. "I knew it was a good idea to bring you both to the cafeteria!" Said Asmodeus, "We have a good view of the entrance from here." Then, the same alarm from earlier resonated once again, "They must be here." "" Said Clara. "Please do explain." Ordered Ryūko. "The senior battlers are coming to recruit us first-years..." Explained Lavande, as soon as she said that, the entrance door slammed open as senior Battler poured into the cafeteria, ""
It was a terrfying sight to see all the senior Battlers charged into the room, looking for first-years. "" Roared a wolf-like demon. Iruma screamed in terror, Ryūko readied her exoskeletal claws and her extra pairs of eyes, prepared to intimidate anyone. Hopefully, they'll survive this .
Fan-made Interval/Sukima
Last night, Ryūko was doing some extra studying about familiars after her private music lessons with Opera. Her black and metallic red hellphone started to vibrate a notification. Ryūko picked it up and she told herself: "It's an unknown contact." The messages had that unknown person's profile picture beside them.
Unknown Contact:
Hi there. You're Ryūko-chan, right?
I'm the guy you saved during the duel on the first day of school.
My name is Darris. I want to thank you for saving me back there. In addition, would you like to be my friend?
Ryūko remembered that she saved Darris during the duel between her and Lavande. She was suprised that he hot her contact. The spider girl thought in a moment of silence: "He's the one I save that day. I barely even know him, but I guess he isn't as bad."
"Ryūko-sama. You may be expected to have someone thanking you for saving his life." Said Opera. "Yes, Opera. He has sent me his gratitude in a text message." Replied Ryūko, "But tell me, were you the one who gave him my number?" "Indeed, I have." Said the butler, "He spoke with me after the familiars lesson and he wanted to send you a message of his gratitude and makes friends with you." "I see. Well, thank you for telling." Smiled Ryūko, "Good night, Opera." "Good night, Ryūko-sama." Said Opera before leaving his mistress' room.
