《Primorial Demon》They are back!

A couple of days passed while I stayed with Kalego. He was the beat teacher one could ask for and he was really paying a lot attention to my health. He made sure in the following week that I was at his home and had my wings open at all time when I need it. Needless to say, that I still retrieved them as they were healing a lot faster this way.
I found it funny how my grandpa just let him take me in. Though I knew the reasons as to why. Sullivan was having a lot of meetings with the top 13 crowns or however they were called. They were the most powerful demons here and also in charge of this realm after the late king, I mean my dead just disappeared.
My wings were finally back and after I regained a part of my memory I was also able to control magic much better than before.
Kalego: Iruma, are you ready to depart?
Me: Yes Kalego.
At some point I also dropped the sensei or sama part.
Me: Can we fly?
Kalego: Did your wings healed completely?
Me: Nearly but it's enough to fly.
Kalego: Then no.
Me: Aww but why?
Kalego: Kid you didn't fly for quite a while. Who knows if you are even capable to fly to Babyles. It's quite the path till there.
Me: But it's a lot faster.
Kalego: And we still will be early even if we walk.
Me: so?
Kalego: Still a no kid.
Me: Why! Tell me the actual reason for it.
Kalego: You have black feathery wings and demons have leather wings.
Me: No problem. I can use illusion magic for that.
Kalego: What about your friends?
Me: Sill don't know that I am with you.
Kalego: You sure you are up to it?

Me: Hm!
Kalego: Fine then. Let's not waste more time.
Me: YES Sensei! Hahaha
We both exited the house and that was when the first challenge appeared. My wings needed some time to adjust to the different air. It wasn't the same as flying in the realm I grew up. Not only that but the real problem was that I haven't been in the air for quite the time. It took me a couple of tries to get into the air and stay steady there.
All the while Kalego was close to me ready to catch me any time if my wings gave in.
After that short period, we both started flying slowly to school. The slowly part wad mostly because he made me do some exercises in the air to see how strong my wings were which surprising they were! Once up in the air and after a short period of time in the air I was unbeatable, agile and fast.
Me: See I told you I would be good!
Kalego: I can see that. It's a good thing that you recovered that fast.
Me: Hm.
It was only halfway through the path we needed to take that I suddenly felt the presence of a shadow creature. It was faint but there.
Me: Oh no.
Kalego: Iruma?
Me: Follow me and stay up in the air!
I didn't give him much choice as to follow me. It was hard to describe but I could feel these creatures. Every angel could kinda sometimes when they get weaker. Judging from me being able to actually feel it means it didn't consume much mana as of recently. It was bad news. Shadow creatures that do that often don't care what they consume to live and survive.
Once I began flying towards it I also began summoning a weapon in my hand it was a bow. Since I didn't have much intention to get close to it a bow was the perfect weapon.

As I said they don't care what they get just to survive and they will do anything to get the mana from the living being. I for certain didn't wanted to end up on the main menu of this creature.
Kalego: What in Lucifer's name!
Me: That is a shadow creature and it's directly heading towards Babyles.
Kalego: You said lightning can kill it?
Me: Yes, but in this state, it would only consume the mana used to summon the lightning. It wouldn't kill it anymore.
Kalego: Reason?
Me: It hasn't consumed any mana for quite some time.
Kalego: How do you know?
Me: The way the shadows are liking the ground and not staying on the creature are a sign for that.
Kalego: I see.
I then pointed my bow towards the creature and summoned a black arrow out of thin air.
Kalego: And your arrow won't be consumed?
Me: No. It's different than lightning. They can't handle angel's mana quite well but they love consuming it.
Kalego: *Sigh* This makes it a lot more difficult.
Me: No... what makes it difficult is that they are pack animals. You never encounter just one. My guess is that this one was sent to spy and check out the land before the others follow. They are not that mindless.
Once I had the arrow in my hand and aimed at its heart I let go of it. Needless to say, that I hit the spot that I aimed. Bullseye.
The creature let out a painful scream and exploded into a bright light that was blinding. After that nothing but silence was left.
Kalego: Impressive.
Me: Thanks.
Kalego: We need to report this.
Me: Let's go.
From we don't have to hurry because we would be early enveloped to we need to tell everyone about this. A war was awaiting Babyles and students as well as teachers needed to be prepared.
In fact, the whole demon realm wasn't safe anymore as long as they were around. Something had to be done and I knew that the demons wouldn't be able to cope with this threat alone. It would mean revealing who I was but if it meant saving the place I learned to treasure and the family I got as well as the friends and people I meet then so be it.
Lives mattered more than my identity!
Angel were just protective creatures after all. There was no way I would leave my new duty behind. I was a battle angel which meant that my destiny was to protect people in this case demons.

The Discarded
The Umbrae Lunae existed before man, beautiful abominations birthed in the nightmares of mad gods. They wait for humanity to misstep, for the angels to look away. For the moment when they can cloak the world in moon shadows once again. But even horrors have children. Even nightmares must feed. One child, unlike the others, finds his way to a school for young abominations. Will he be a sheep cast before the wolves, or a terror that wears the skin of wool to entice the wolf close? The flesh of his body was his only coin, strips cut to pay debts that never ended. Everyone has scars, stories in a life led, lessons learned, and licks taken. Luminous bodies touched by darkness. There are a cursed few that are the opposite, black shadows consumed by scars, twisted minds devoured by diseased hungers, bodies tortured misshapen works of gouged flesh, silver lines of blade thin cuts, ragged tears of teeth and glass. For them, the scars are marks of homecoming, the mangled wasteland the only place they feel at peace. Hell is a place. It's made of concrete, steel and glass. It's the sounds of starving kids crying themselves to sleep, huddling into small balls as creepers come and take their due of innocence and tender meat. It's eating rotten food and carrying ticks in your hair. It’s having no one and nothing while surrounded by everything. It's the life of a street kid. What abomination was birthed in the corrupt womb of man’s cast-off shit? Pretty people don't know the power of ugly. They can't see the strength in a broken soul or the power in a calloused heart. Those secrets are for the discarded alone. Only the broken understand the grace of darkness. The blessed folds that hide scars and tears, the protection of its concealing umbra. The Rite of Sanctuary
Dozens, if not hundreds of worlds were destroyed or damaged by what amounted to a industrial accident on a higher level of existence. Many people and places however, were saved at the last instant and hastily slammed together into a makeshift world held together with magic and hope. The director was assigned to keep the whole thing going and stole the idea of a RPG driven system as a placeholder set of natural laws. One he is constantly having to apply ad hoc fixes and updates on the fly. The main character and the church he worked at end up being one of the places from modern earth that got saved. Possibly updating Saturday and Sunday if my schedule stays the same
