I watched from the back patio porch as pack members shook hands and laughed before they walked off of the field after an endless day of training.
It was long day. A hot one at that.
Towel at hand, I wiped my chest of any perspiration from today's work before I smiled. I could sense him near even before he spoke to me. I knew that he wanted to say something. He had a few words for me about today's show. It did not matter much though. I was his superior; however I wanted to hear what he needed to say.
"Hm." Was the only sound my Beta made when he appeared beside me. He brought the neck of the beer bottle to his mouth.
"What was that for?" The smile on my face made it evidently clear that I was expecting him.
"Hmmm oh nothing." He gazed off toward the trees. "Just thinking about the weather, and what I'm going to have for dinner. Oh yeah, and that nasty ass show you pulled earlier."
"Foul language?" I tossed my towel onto the chair. "Is that necessary?"
"Is what you did to that poor girl necessary?"
"What? It was just a small exercise to test her skills."
His glare was strong but it quickly softened once he got it through his head that he was standing in front of me. Soon, that strict look turned into one of amusement.
"What's so funny?" I was interested in what he found humorous.
"I bet you did not think she would stuff Jazz in the dirt huh?" I looked away. I could admit, today's outcome did not go as I thought. When sending in one of my best fighters, I expected better results from her.

"I had no expectation." I lied through my lips.
"What did you really expect to happen?" He questioned.
"Just a simple training exercise." I slipped my tee shirt over my head.
"Do you want to know what I expected?" Even if I did not care to know what he expected, I knew he would still tell me. "I expected exactly what happened."
"Hmm?" I followed him into the kitchen doors. "Why is that?"
He slipped into a pulled stool while I put my focus on the refrigerator. I pulled a leftover dish from the back of the shelf before I tossed it onto the counter top. I removed the plastic. The aroma of steak and potatoes swam around me before I tossed it into the warming oven.
"You put your top female wolf into the practice circle."
"Yeah, so?" I shrugged as if it was nothing.
"With..." He shook the bottle that was at hand. "The daughter of your father's best warrior fighter. If my corrections were right, and they were, Rick has been training his daughter."
"I expected him to do so." I agreed.
"Well..." He stood from the stool before he took the last sip of his beverage. "You know now that Jazz and her backup singers are not as good as you think."
I huffed at him. He shot me one last look before he tossed his empty beer bottle into the waste basket and disappeared out of sight. I laughed as I thought of his lecture. The girl was a good fighter but not that good.

Maybe some of you can imagine how I felt, perhaps even felt it yourself or still do. It is a terrible feeling isn’t it? It can be maddening beyond belief. I remember sitting on the floor in the corner of my room staring at the endless white walls hating myself. The loneliness had gotten so bad I would just sit there and cry. I felt so alone, so isolated, so inadequate. Would you run away from it all if this was your life? Would you try to change things? What my dear reader would you do? This is the story of how I ran, how I lived, how I tried to change things and how I finally died. Dear reader this book is the story of my life and those around me. The knowledge I’ve gained, the wisdom I have acquired, my triumphs, my failures, those I loved and those I hated. This book is all that I am and hoped to be. It is yours now, may it serve you well and guide you to a happier future than mine.” Excerpt taken from the journal of Kaden Vos also known as, “The Butcher of Rakan” -- I have been a long time reader and have always wanted to create something myself. I hope you all find this world I am creating fun and enjoyable. As I am new to this, any advice or feedback you have will be greatly appreciated and I will do my best to improve. They can shape this miniature world to their liking and conjure spiritual entities, usually monsters, out of thin air. Their role is to create and administer trial-by-fires. These life and death competitions determine whether a disciple is *chosen* or merely *trash* that deserves to be left by the wayside. Tom's new responsibility will affect the lives of millions of cultivators and shape the future of hundreds of worlds, dozens of galaxies, and eventually, the universe itself. Will Tom use his newfound power to torment others and merely benefit himself? And how he is destined to rise again.---------------------------------------Before you think wrong of my choice of race for the mc, I want to inform you that although he starts as a Goblin, he will be nothing like Rou from Re:Monster (which is one of the main inspirations for this).---------------------------------------This is my first fiction, so I would love some feedback or your opinions in general. English isn't my main language either, so if you see any mistakes regarding grammar or anything else, please inform me. I don't plan on ending this fiction anytime soon, but due to school and work I may not have time to write chapters on a frequent base. Btw later on there may be Romance included, so I will put these into the categories, but don't expect anything sexual to happen in the first few chapters.
