《Stuck with the British Men》Run to the Shadows

After checking the time after fighting over something after chasing shadows, we are running to the exit. Jooice is running pretty fast, holding on to head to be sure he doesn't spill. "Jooice, how we looking?" Laff asked barely breathing. "GOOD FOR NOW." he yells. I look at the trees as they rustle in the same direction we are running. Who or what is watching us? We ended up at a dead end. For some odd reason, Laff decided to jump over the gate blocking us. "LAFF WHAT THE-" I started to say but I got interrupted mid sentence. "GO THROUGH THE BUSHES OVER TO YOUR RIGHT ILL MAKE A PATHWAY THROUGH THE TREES." "AND HURRY." And we did.
I held Jooice's hand to be sure nothing took him in the process of us running in through the bushes. We continued to run once we caught up to Laff. "WHAT ABOUT THE BOYS?!" Jooice yelled still fine. "WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LEAVE THEM HERE." Laff yelled louder than usual.
I'm surprised Jooice is still keeping up with us. I'm also surprised that Laff is going to leave the others here. If they're not home tomorrow, he will probably come back. The rustling in the trees stopped but something still doesn't feel right. I slowed down a bit for something we call "Cup Support". Something or someone is surely watching us and knowing that Jooice has to go slow, he would of stayed behind us, letting the "shadow figures" take him without us noticing. So basically, Cup Support is something someone does to protect anyone from the liquid species.
"Are we almost there?" I asked. I feel like I'm about to collapse. "Almost there.." Laff said. I realized that I'm back Infront of Jooice. I slowed down again to realize that I was still in the same position before I moved. You got to be- "LAAAAAAFF" I yelled as I speeded up. "JOOICE'S GONE" Laff slowed down just to speed up again. "WE GOING TO HAVE TO LEAVE HIM HERE WITH THE OTHERS"

I look up to see 3 shadows sitting on a brick wall near the exit. Laff is going a route that will not get us stuck, but its about time I take matter into my own hands. I catch up to Laff, taking his hand. I then dragged the British man in a different direction that will take us to the exit quicker. Surprisingly, he didn't fuse but just let it happen. The exit gate was already closed so I used two arms to grab Laff by his stomach. I jumped on the brick wall to where the shadows were but, they were no longer there. I use one hand to continue to climb the wall. "Mate what are you-" "Shut." "Stay quiet." I told him. Once we got to the top, I let go of Laff. The car was still there. That's good. Next thing we know, we got pushed of the wall. I landed on a shadow that tried to run and Laff landed in a forward roll.
"AAAAAAAAAAA-" the shadow that seemed to be a person yelled out. I opened my eyes to see who this shadow was.

The Path of Ascension
The story follows Matt, a young man planning to delve the rifts responsible for the monsters that destroyed his city and killed his parents. His dreams are crushed when his Tier 1 Talent is rated as detrimental, and no guild or group will take him. Working at a nearby inn, he meets a mysterious and powerful couple. They give him a chance to join The Path of Ascension, an empire wide race to ascend the Tiers and become living legends. With their recommendation and a stolen skill, Matt begins his journey to the peak of power. *** Chapters will now be MONDAY and FRIDAY AT 4:00pm EST. This is a mix between LitRPG and Xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all Xianxia. So no blue boxes and clicking +’s to get stronger. *** What you won't see in this novel: Bland protagonists. Bland love interests that immediately fall in love with the MC. Murder hobos who kill entire families and clans for looking the wrong way at somebody. Pacifist MC’s who wouldn't kill a single person to save millions. Cartoonish villains who are bad just to be bad. *** What to expect: A MC who acts rationally. World building that has more depth than ‘strong people 'stronk'. There will be no rules only benefiting the strong and no rule changes as they see fit. An empire that actually cares for its citizens. People who act and talk like real people. A magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent. Realistic fight scenes.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
