《Alone (Joocie X Laff!)》7

Laff's point of view:

I can see the castle not too far away, and that's a good thing. It's hot as hell out here! Joocie walked close behind me, he refused to be carried. I respect the kid if I'm being honest. Every once in a while he'll stop and take a minute to get going again. I never let him out of my sights, he already knows too much.. If he were to give Pika the information we've given him, we'd be dead within two weeks. I know some of you are thinking: Why even give Joocie information like that if you can't fully trust the guy? Honestly, I have no clue.

By now we've stopped so many times that our entire army was ahead of us, and I was back with Joocie. Just making sure that he wasn't causing dead and destruction, the usual. Also, earlier when Julio apologized for throwing a spear through Joocie's stomach, he said "It happens all the time," which left me wondering, what did he mean by that? Has he literally been stabbed through the stomach that many times? Maybe he was just joking, I need to quit overthinking this stuff.

Ok, so now we've actually reached the castle. Joocie was hesitant to come inside, but eventually was forced to. It's like he's a prisoner, but not a prisoner. Yes, he's free in lots of ways, but we still chose to keep him in a jail cell; just in case he tried to pull something.... Doing anything when he can barely walk wouldn't be very easy anyways, by you never know...

I looked back at the cell to see that he was sleeping. I mean we had been walking in heat for 2 hours, it makes sense I guess.

Aww..... That's actually adorable..

Sir. You did not just say that- Remind you he's the enemy. He's only here for questioning, and maybe joining the army.... Nothing else.

I know, I know, I'll stop.

I really couldn't believe that I just thought the enemy looked cute. I mean, he did, can't lie there, but seriously, he's the enemy for crying out loud! Plus we don't know much about him. He could be a spy that's just taking all of this to gather information and return to Pika. That's actually happened before, it was one of the reasons my father died years ago. Thinking of that made my blood boil. He didn't deserve it, my father was an innocent man! Well... Kind of. I mean he did kill people, but it was only because of the war, nothing else. But still, he didn't deserve it. One of his "friends" that left Pika to join Makaes with my father had become a soldier, but he wasn't very happy seeing my dad become king. So he gathered all of the information he could and went back to Pika. Once they'd known our attack plans, there was no way out of it. And that was the day my dad died.

Moral of the story: Even those you trust most can be traitors.
