As Juniper hit the floor, the motion of her sudden drop caught the eyes of people standing near by. Gasps echoed silently throughout the crowd, the music still deafening as a few reached out to late to stop her hitting the floor.

A crowd closed in quickly as Juniper's lips began to turn blue, her chest barely moving as she slipped into respiratory failure. "Call 911!" Someone screamed as Magnus stared into Alice's eyes, seeing the delight behind her irises at the chaos she'd just caused even though her face was dead straight. Instinctively, Magnus grasped her upper arm to stop her slipping away as the crowd panicked around her, some pushing past to get a closer look out of pure curiosity as others stared in shock...

But Alice squeezed from his grip as two onlookers pushed past, and stepped back, disappearing amongst the crowd as more people collected at the commotion. "Alice-" Magnus hissed under his breath, glancing towards Juniper as someone lifted her head to try and hear if she was breathing. She already looked dead, she'd turned pale and blue, and looked limp and lifeless as she was tugged and talked to by people trying to help.

Magnus moved away from the wall, his gaze back on where Alice had just gone. He pushed past people carelessly, growing irritated suddenly with the volume of music since he couldn't call out for her. His calculated gaze scanned the scene around him, wondering where she'd gone when he caught a glimpse of her hair by the stairs that lead to the upper level. He moved quickly, getting to the stairs and seeing her hair swish around the corner that lead to their room. "Alice!" He snapped, even though she'd be unable to hear him, her name slipped from his mouth at his growing frustration.

Alice stormed ahead, pushing open the door to her room and walking over to her phone that was lying motionless on the bed, wanting to see what the buzz on social media was saying since she was sure it would be up there by now. The group chat lit up seconds after she'd picked up her phone, but she didn't open any of the messages.

Her heart was racing as she read the notifications, seeing glimpses of rushed texts saying Juniper had collapsed and was being taken to the hospital. Her eyes were wide with a strange eerie and childlike interest, until the door slammed shut, causing her to jump violently. "What the fuck was that!" Magnus shouted aggressively, pointing back to the door as Alice locked her phone and dropped her arms by her side.

She said nothing but stared at him, her breaths slow and steady even though her heart had just started to beat a little harder. "Are you fucking serious, Alice? In a crowd? Anyone could have seen you!"

"What?" She asked, suddenly confused as she blinked quickly.

"What did you use?" He asked, "She's being taken to the E.R, they're going to know what you did - so if you don't tell me, you're gonna end up in a fuck load of shit. Do you understand?" He said quickly, walking over to her as he stared into her eyes.

"I-" she began, feeling unable to confess what she'd done as she looked at him. She couldn't work out if he was angry or not, and couldn't find the words to ask. "Um-"

"Alice! Now! What did you fucking use?!" He demanded loudly,

"Eye drops!" Alice gasped, suddenly realising what she'd done and cupping her mouth. Her eyes began to water instantly as her mind replayed the moment Juniper dropped to the floor after choking on the breath that wasn't entering her lungs. "Oh my god-" she began to panic, "Oh my god, oh my god-" she continued to rush, her heart beating so hard as her head span she thought she was going to faint.

"Where?" Magnus asked as Alice panicked,

"Is she going to die? Oh my god, oh my-"

"WHERE?" Magnus demanded loudly, grabbing her wrists and shaking her hard so that she focussed back on him.

"In the bathroom, um- the one next to the stairs, they're in the cupboard." she replied quickly, tears dropping from her eyes and sliding down her cheeks as she stared into his.

"You're so fucking stupid," Magnus snapped, letting go of her arms sharply as he turned to move away from her.

"I was upset!" She shot back, defending herself as she wiped her tears quickly, not wanting to cry in front of him.

"So?!" He shouted back, "Because I was fucking talking to her? So?!" He shouted,

"No!" Alice snapped, "because she ran over my dog!" Alice yelled, "She broke into my house, she put pigs blood all over my fucking kitchen making me think my family had been fucking killed and she ran over my fucking dog!" She shouted, feeling the rage bubbling back up to the surface, "She fucking deserved it!"

Magnus stared at Alice in silence and she breathed in sharply and heavily and let her shoulders drop... the music was muffled from up here so Magnus heard her every word very clearly. Alice breathed heavily, trying to calm herself down as Magnus continued to watch her. "When was this?" He finally asked and Alice swallowed and cleared her throat.

"When I went to your house to swim." She replied, "-and I had to leave early." She continued, running her hand through her hair and exhaling heavily again since her heart was still racing hard inside her chest.

"Stay here." Magnus muttered after a few moments silence. "Don't contact anyone either." He added as he turned away, leaving the room and closing the door sharply behind himself. He cursed under his breath as he texted Trey for help whilst he made his way back down to the lower level just as the crowd moved past, a few of them carrying Juniper downstairs to get her ready for the paramedics. He stepped back out of sight and waited for most of them to pass before he moved past the group undetected and found the door Alice had been through barely half an hour before.

The room was now empty, since the couple who had been inside before had left due to the commotion... Magnus glanced around himself, careful not to touch any surfaces with his hands and used a tissue in his pocket to open the door of the bathroom after he'd wiped it down. "So fucking stupid." He muttered angrily to himself, wiping down the counter, then the handles on the cupboard before he opened it.

His jaw tensed as he saw the mess she'd made of the products inside and grabbed more tissue to wipe each bottle and cardboard packet down. "Wh-" a voice said and Magnus looked up, seeing Trey suddenly. "What's going on?" He asked quickly, closing the door behind him as he saw Magnus crouched in front of the cupboard, "I just saw paramedics and Juniper- did something happen?" He asked, pulling the sleeves down on his sweater as he wiped down the handle of the door again.

"Don't ask, don't tell, just wipe all this shit down." Magnus muttered quickly, putting some bottles to one side to Trey could reach them. Trey furrowed his eyebrows but helped anyway, knowing that this was the protocol for when something had happened that no one should know about.

They worked in silence, wiping things down so no finger prints would be left if anyone were to be searched for. It didn't take Magnus long to find the eye drops bottle, the small plastic container discarded carelessly towards the back of the cupboard, a small dent in the side showing where Alice had squeezed it with intensity. He grabbed it quickly and squeezed the dent out, then wiped it down before turning to the toilet and throwing it in.

Trey watched as Magnus flushed it, waiting for it to go down before he turned away and began putting the bottles and boxes back into the cupboard in an organised mess. "Is Juniper going to die?" Trey asked as he stood up, after handing the clean bottles and boxes back to Magnus.

"I don't know." He replied, flushing the toilet again just to make sure it had gone down before he wiped the handle down. Trey sighed quietly and watched as Magnus checked over every surface carefully, looking for any signs that Alice had been here. He knew exactly what to look for... hair, nails, skin particles, lipstick stains, flakes of her nail polish, threads of material from her dress... dirt from her shoes... he'd done this routine perfectly so many times, that it was the main and almost the only reason he'd never been caught. His damage control technique was perfect. Any problem he could make disappear within minutes, hence why even though many of his friends were wary of him, they could trust him to protect them when necessary.

Trey took it upon himself to clean up more, using the bathroom cleaner to spray the surfaces and wipe them down. "We'll call the cleaners in for the morning too, they'll need to be here anyway because of the party." Trey said, seeing Magnus so intently looking for something or anything that could prove someone, who shouldn't have been, was here.

It didn't take long for Trey to figure it out, as he watched Magnus carefully pick up a long blonde hair from the edge of the sink and narrow his eyes momentarily. He wrapped it around his finger and exhaled heavily.

After a couple more long minutes, the two boys left the bathroom completely untouched. It was as if no one had been in there, each inch carefully wiped down. Magnus wiped down each door handle, then retreated into the main hallway where Juniper had dropped the glass after she'd collapsed. He walked over to it and wiped it down, then placed it back carefully exactly where it had dropped. "Done?" Trey asked as Magnus stood up and tucked the tissues he'd used back into his pocket.

"Yeah." Magnus replied, "I have to go deal with something else now." He replied, having to speak up a little since Noah had been strictly instructed to keep the party going loudly. The sound of Mob Ties by Drake flowed loudly through the chalet, and Trey nodded, knowing from that second he had to return to the party and act as normal, as though he'd never been helping Magnus clean up a potential crime scene to an eerily professional level...

They went their separate ways without saying much more, and Magnus made his way back up to the bedroom... unaware that he was now being followed by two figures dressed in dark suits...

His mind was running over what had happened, Alice acting out had surprised him, but he couldn't help but also think that what she'd done had been a step above anything any ordinary person would have thought of. A punch to the face would've been more or less appropriate, instead of potentially irreversible poisoning. He chuckled very quietly to himself, feeling a strange wave of excitement as he reached out for the door handle, knowing who was waiting for him on the other side when a pair of hands grasped his shoulders and dragged him back...

Magnus tensed, reaching behind him to grab the wrist of whoever it was and twisted, causing a familiar voice to curse loudly... in German. "Arschloch!" The sound of Magnus's cousin, Fynn, cursed loudly as he snatched his wrist away and shoved Magnus back with his other hand.

"Sie werden faul, Magnus." The other, Otis, said as he laughed deeply as Magnus stared at them both. He'd suggested that he was getting lazy, and went on to mention that they'd been following him for a while without him noticing their presence, "Wir sind Ihnen eine Zeitlang gefolgt."

Magnus rolled his eyes and sighed heavily as he reached up to push his hand through his hair. He'd invited his cousins to the party, mainly because they were in the country and would take it personally if he didn't get in contact, which was drama he wanted to avoid. He'd grown up with them, and although he didn't like the very much, his aunt's children who were a few years older than him and taught him a lot of what he knew now. Their views on how to live life as social elites was somewhat different to many others... for they believed with the right amount of money and power, you could probably get away with murder. And this theory was still being put to the test.

Fynn and Otis were tall, slim but well built... with violently blond hair, tanned skin from all the travelling they did, well structured faces and eerie deep brown eyes. They had the same aura about them... the dark energy that seeped from the pores in their skin. No one had approached them at the party, for they looked like pure evil. Which wasn't far from the truth.

"Sie verspäten sich." Magnus said, expressing his annoyance that they were late, he had made time for them earlier, but they hadn't shown. And at this point, he would've rather spend his time with Alice, instead of them. When they had arrived there had been buzz on his group chat about a helicopter half an hour ago when the party had started almost three hours ago, and his patience with them had already worn thin.

"Wir verspäten uns nie, Sie sind gerade zu früh." Otis chuckled with a grin, explaining that neither him or his brother were ever late, and that Magnus was just early. He knew Magnus hated that phrase, for it was something they had teased him with as a child.

"American parties start early," Fynn carried on in English, his German accent thick as he looked around and grimaced at the decor of the chalet.

"It's Canada." Magnus corrected as he grew irritated with small talk and his mind drifted back to Alice.

"It's the same thing more or less," Fynn chuckled, "What's behind the door?" He asked, since they'd caught him walking so intently towards it. Magnus tensed subtly, aware that no matter what he said, they'd open the door anyway... he'd only paused for a moment, but that was more than enough time for Fynn to grow bored and push past him and reach for the handle.

The door swung open and Alice looked up from her phone at the sound of the thick wood hitting the wall. Instantly she knew it wasn't Magnus and stood up from where she was sat on the bed, her eyes a little wider now as an unfamiliar face appeared to her. "Well well well," Fynn chuckled loudly as Magnus appeared behind him with Otis walking in behind him and closing the door.

Alice glanced at Magnus and then at his other cousin, confusion seeping into her expression as Magnus stared at her. "Who's this?" Fynn asked, smiling strangely warmly at her.

"I'm Alice," she answered for herself, gaining an aura that they were important and flicked her hair back over her shoulder before she stuck out her hand. "I can answer for myself." She added, since she knew they expected Magnus to speak for her. She could tell by their body language instantly. Fynn raised an eyebrow, but shook Alice's hand anyway, noticing she had a firm grip.

"Fynn. Otis." Magnus spoke up, motioning to each of his cousins when he said their names. "They're my cousins." he added as Alice looked between them all... there were some similarities, although Magnus looked less... demonic... than his cousins.

"Oh," Alice smiled, shaking Otis's hand now as she wondered why he'd brought them up here. "Do you... need me to leave?" She asked, her bright blue eyes focused on Magnus who shook his head.

"Sie ist hübscher als der letzte." Fynn muttered, glancing past Magnus at Otis who was watching Alice carefully, not understanding the vibe he got from her, his stare making her uncomfortable. Flynn had said that she was prettier than the last one, which only caused Magnus's expression to harden with annoyance,, which Alice also noticed. Otis ignored his brother for a moment and stared at Alice harder, she looked innocent enough, and was intensely attractive in a way that confused him... it wasn't obvious at first glance... but the way she was put together physically with a strange mysterious dark energy seemed to draw in the attention.

"Be quiet, Fynn." Otis muttered to his brother as he stepped forward a little more to analyse Alice. "How old are you?" He asked,

"Sixteen." She said softly, "Seventeen in a week and a half." She added as she saw his eyebrows raise.

"Right." Otis replied, his gaze moving towards Magnus slowly, who was still watching Alice. "Could you step out of the room for a moment please, Alice." He asked in a low voice with a strange grin, his statement not directly phrased as a question. Alice bit the edge of her lip, feeling a wave of discomfort at the tone of his voice seconds before she turned to leave.

"She can stay." Magnus said, even though Alice had suddenly grown nervous and didn't want to.

"Does she know?" Fynn asked and Magnus said nothing, answering the question with his silence... Alice swallowed as she watched Magnus, he looked calm, relaxed even, but she couldn't ignore the energy shift in the room as it grew silent for a few moments. Usually it was obvious who was in charge when Magnus was here, but now the energy seemed to shift between all three of the boys, confusing Alice on who was leading the situation.

"Mmm, Okay," Otis chuckled, obviously irritated as he turned towards Magnus and he figured something out in his head. "Another pretty girl made a mistake, I understand." Otis smirked, making Alice furrow her eyebrows. He knew how Magnus made his connections... someone would make a mistake, he'd make it go away, then you owed him... Like making a deal with the devil to make all your problems disappear, in return for your soul. "You think she understands you?" He taunted Magnus, whose expression hadn't changed. He'd figured Alice was different to the other collection of his friends since she was sat up here, away from the party, waiting for him to return. Magnus wanted her to believe she was special, so he treated her like she was, Otis assumed.

"Actually-" Alice began, unable to fight the sudden urge to defend Magnus and his actions but Otis raised his hand to stop her from speaking without looking at her. The action infuriated her, and she felt the rage surge in her chest, "Excuse me-" she began, but that only annoyed Otis since he was about to begin another conversation with Magnus. He turned towards her suddenly, his dark eyes making her retreat a step in surprise.

"Listen carefully Alice, as much as you think you know and understand about this, you don't know a damn... thing." He said slowly, looking at her directly in the eye with a sharp stare now, "So let me give you some advice." He continued, his thick German accent making Alice squirm slightly even though she didn't show it, she had to listen intently to understand him clearly, which he used to his advantage. "Don't swim in bloody waters unless you want to get bitten." He whispered in a low voice so that only Alice could hear. She felt ice trickle down her back and exhaled quietly. "The sharks are circulating now." He whispered with an eerie grin and Alice's silent alarm bells began to ring wildly in her mind.

Alice stared at him, feeling like she was staring into the eyes of a serpent waiting to strike and swallowed heavily. Who were Magnus's cousins? She etched their names into her brain for later and stayed silent as Otis continued talking. "... I know who you are now," he whispered again as he stepped away from her, the simple statement sounding and feeling like a threat. "Get out." He then said, causing Alice to subtly jolt and walk away, since she knew it wasn't a discussion.
