First Christmas:
Grunting softly, Laff was holding the top piece of a christmas tree he had bought as he was trying to put it on top of the bottom half of the tree; trying not to drop it. He had bought one of the two-piece trees with built in lights; since he thought a two piece tree would be lighter than a one piece tree.
Yet here he was struggling to put the top piece on the bottom piece.
Sitting on the couch, Nadwe watched Laff struggle with the tree as he held his deer close, chewing on the ear of it. Every time it looked like Laff was going to drop the tree, Nadwe tensed up as he gripped onto his deer. At one point, Laff nearly fell down with the top of the tree as Nadwe let out a whine, causing Laff to look over.
"Ah-! Nadwe, no it's okay! Daddy's alright!" Laff quickly stood back up on his feet as he smiled softly "I'm okay lad, don't worry."
Nadwe whined softly and frowned a bit, still worried Laff might end up hurting himself over putting a stupid tree together. Someone knocked on the door before it opened; Shroobz walked in as he took off his red wool hat he wore during the winter. "Laff, ready to-"
He stopped as he saw Laff struggle AGAIN to put the two halves of the tree together. He grinned and laughed softly, walking over and taking the top part from him "Here, let me." He lifted the top with ease and put it on top of the bottom half of the tree.
Laff looked amazed as he scoffed softly, glancing to the side "I could have done it.."
Shroobz smiled and turned on the tree "Never said you couldn't, but I'll be honest with you; you have gotten a bit...uh; less physical since you quit the force." Laff rolled his eyes and smiled "Oh shut your trap mate; you work an office job!" Shroobz chuckled, "But yet I can lift a tree piece better than you." Laff gasped softly, faking his hurt as he looked away.
"Plus I work a hairdresser job, a construction job, a school counselor, chef, bank associate; basically a lot of jobs that keep me on my feet constantly. So it's really not my fault I'm built differently."
Laff rolled his eyes and smirked "Maybe not mentally; but physically yes. By far the most attractive in the group mate."
"Ohhhhh~ Is the almighty good samaritan Laff flirting with me?~" Shroobz chuckled and moved closer to Laff "You better watch your language or I'll go tattle on Wictoria~" Laff narrowed his eyes and grinned "You wouldn't dare mate." Shroobz quickly grabbed onto Laff's arm as he chuckled " 'Oh Miss Wictoria~ You're deeply hot and sexy boyfriend Laff was flirting with me~ Oh I couldn't help myself because of his broad shoulders,'" He moved his hand up to grip onto Laff's shoulder, massaging it as Laff shivered softly in his hold "S-Shroobz-"
" 'Because of his deep, husky British voice,'" Shroobz spoke lowly as he brought his face closer to Laff's, the British man blushing deeply as Shroobz kept a tight grip on him. " 'Oh, I had to do what I did, Miss.Wictoria~'" Laff found himself unmoving, staring into Shroobz's dark purple eyes as he panted softly "W-what did you do, S-Shroobz..?" He asked softly, unable to look away.
" 'Oh~ I had too...' TICKLE HIM TO DEATH OF COURSE!!" Shroobz shouted as he instantly attacked Laff's sides. Laff squeaked and tried to get away from Shroobz, laughing "HAHA! N-NO SHROOBZ M-MATE STOP IT!!HAHA!!!" Shroobz laughed and didn't let up "OH BUT IT IS YOUR FAULT FOR FLIRTING WITH ME GAS MAN!!" Laff squirmed in his hold; laughing madly as he tried to get away "S-SHROOBZ MATE STOP-"

Laff had lost his balance and fell to the floor, bringing Shroobz down with him. Shroobz held himself up and grunted softly, looking down at Laff. Laff slowly opened his eyes and looked up at Shroobz, blushing.
Shroobz looked back down at him with a slight flush dusted on his cheeks. The two stared at each other for a while before Shroobz let out a small chuckle "Well hello there."
Laff was speechless as he looked back up at Shroobz, panting softly as he blushed deeply. He felt a knot form in his stomach as he laid there in anticipation of what might happen. "S-Shroobz.." He said softly as the blush on Shroobz's face deepened "Yes, Laff?" Laff gulped softly and let out a small huff, wanting Shroobz to come closer. Shroobz seemed to understand as he brought his face closer to Laff's, causing the man beneath him to jolt softly.
Nadwe squeaked, reminding the two adults that he was still here.
Laff's eyes widened as his blush vanished, mentally cursing himself for forgetting his son was still in the room and had witnessed EVERYTHING. Shroobz laughed and got up, walking over and picking up Nadwe "Hey there little man!" Nadwe squeaked and waved his arms as Shroobz laughed "Man, you're getting bigger little man! Good for you!" He held Nadwe in his arms as the smaller squealed, hugging Shroobz.
Laff got up and cleared his throat, dusting himself off as he tried to compose himself. Shroobz looked over and chuckled softly "Sorry I came unexpectedly; I knew you needed a ride over to Oompa's anyway for the party."
That's right; Oompa was holding a secret santa/ugly sweater party at his place throughout christmas and invited everyone over. So why did Laff spend his money on a Christmas tree?
"*Ahem* W-well, thank you for that Shroobz.." Laff stated softly as Shroobz smiled "No problem, I knew you didn't want to walk all that way over to Oompa's place. I know that for a fact since I KNOW you bought a lot of gifts." Laff looked at him with a head tilt "Mate; why would I buy a lot of gifts for everyone?"
Shroobz shook his head "I didn't say 'everyone', I know you bought a lot of gifts for this little man here." He gestured to Nadwe as Nadwe giggled quietly, covering his mouth. Laff looked away and cleared his throat "U-Uhhhh...maybe just a FEW." Shroobz narrowed his eyes and put a hand on his hip "How many is a 'few'?"
Laff averted his gaze and messed with his hands "...uhhh, a few...?" Shroobz narrowed his eyes again. Laff kept looking away as he rubbed his arm "Uhh...I'll be right back-" He quickly ran to his room as Shroobz chuckled softly. He then looked down at Nadwe and booped his nose.
"Listen little man, what you had just witnessed today we don't tell your mother right now; okay?" He smiled softly, "I feel like I need to get to know her better before I suggest a relationship between her, me and your father." He smoothed out Nadwe's hair and chuckled "And if it works you'll see a lot more of me around; okay?"
Nadwe squeaks and holds onto his hand, giggling happily.
"Laff, how are 20 gifts for Nadwe 'a few'??"
Shroobz looked at the British man as Laff chuckled nervously, scratching his head as he sat in Shroobz's trucks passenger's seat. In the row of seats behind the two were the 20 gifts for Nadwe and the gifts he had picked out for all of his friends stacked on the seats and the floor. Nadwe's carrier was in the middle of the gift stacks as he was vibing with his deer.

Laff scratched his head and looked out the window "...I might have gotten a few too many.."
"Laff, what happened to 'not spoiling' your son?" Shroobz asked with a grin as he focused on the road. "It wasn't my fault mate! Those stores put spells on you once you go shoppin for the holidays!" Shroobz rolled his eyes and grinned "Yeah, sure Laff." He knew the real reason why Laff bought so many gifts was because he loved Nadwe so much.
"I thought everyone agreed that Blaza was gonna be the one to spoil him."
Laff rubbed his head "Well, yes we have agreed to that. But you know things aren't too well balanced at the moment.."
Shroobz hummed softly in response as he kept looking at the road; things really weren't too great for Blaza at the moment. His landlord was expecting more and more in monthly rent and Blaza was only allowed so many hours to work at the grocery store. The kind thing was that Tbh was nice enough to help him out with the rent since he worked two jobs.
Oh yeah; Tbh was currently staying at Blaza's house since Joocie still won't let him come back. He was still considerably upset with Tbh about how he had been acting since they had started dating and the fact Tbh indirectly called Joocie a slut did NOT help his chance at coming home. Tbh was really upset and was still trying to this day to find a way to show Joocie he can trust him again; even if he looked a little too comfortable being with Blaza.
"Mnn, I am not looking forward to what might happen if Joocie and Tbh are there mate." Laff rubbed his arm and looked at Shroobz "It's hard to be supportive of both sides when I know those two shouldn't be together..."
"I know Laff, it is kind of hard to see both of them like this..." Shroobz tapped the steering wheel "...You're worried about if Joocie is going to take Tbh back, aren't you?" Laff sighed softly and nodded "I just don't want Joocie to be hurt...I feel like if Joocie does take Tbh back he's just gonna get his heart broken again...I just don't want anything bad to happen to him.."
Shroobz parked along the sidewalk beside Oompa's house and looked at him "Nothing bad will happen to Joocie, and you want to know how I know?" He reached over and grabbed his hand "Because I know you're gonna make sure of it. You're gonna make sure Joocie and Tbh work these issues out and if they do show they can't be together; you're gonna let them know that."
Laff held his hand and looked at him "Are you sure..?" Shroobz smiled and nodded "I am, you care too much about Joocie to let him get hurt. Like he's a son to you.." He brought Laff's hand to his face and kissed it softly; earning a blush from Laff as he turned off the car and got out.
Coming up quickly in an ugly sweater; Oompa laughed and smiled "There you two are!! You're both the last ones to show up!"
Shroobz rolled his eyes and smiled "Hey, it wasn't my fault we're late. Mr.Gasman bought a lot of gifts for Nadwe...speaking of; could you give us a hand?" He gestured to the truck as Laff got out. Oompa laughed softly and walked over "Well of course, everyone else is waiting inside anyhow!"
Shroobz chuckled softly and picked up a few of the presents in the backseat. Laff shook his head and picked up Nadwe, holding him as he walked to the front door. "I did not get that many gifts.."
"Laff I don't even know how you fit all of these in Shroobz's car!" Oompa exclaimed as he laughed.
Laff rolled his eyes and walked inside, carrying an armful of presents. "If you knew about how to use space, you could fit this many things in a truck mate." Oompa paused for a second and let that sink in "Hmmm...then maybe I am not buying enough stuff to test that out.."
Shroobz quickly looked at him "No, don't spend your money on all that materialistic bullshit!"
"I can if I wanna!" was the last thing Laff heard from Oompa before he walked inside into the large living area where everyone else was. Meme, Dino, and Tbvg were sitting close to the fireplace chatting amongst themselves and having a good time. Laff smiled a bit to himself as he walked over and set the presents down by the large tree before walking up to the small group.
Tbvg was the first to look up as he smiled "Laff! You finally made it!" The others looked up as Laff smiled back and waved "Heya mates, sorry I was late. I was having trouble setting up my Christmas tree."
Meme smiled and stood up "Oh we weren't waiting too long! It's so good to see you!" He hugged the slightly shorter British man as Laff chuckled and hugged him back.
Oompa walked in carrying a few more presents and quickly put them down "The Bri'ish man decided to spoil his son when we all agreed that would have been BLAZA'S job!" He remarked as he laughed, turning and walking back to Shroobz's truck to get the remaining presents.
The small group quickly looked at Laff as Dino faked his hurt "Laaaaffff, we all agreeddd!"
Laff huffed softly and laughed quietly "Wasn't my finest hour, I'll admit..."
Both Oompa and Shroobz walked in, Shroobz carrying Nadwe in his arms with the diaper bag slung across his back as Meme quickly stopped them "AH! WAIT!" He then pointed to the top of the door at the mistletoe that was hanging there as Oompa's eyes widened a bit "Ah shit!"
Tbvg got up onto his feet "Oompa you can't go back on the rule you established! You'd be a hypocrite if you did!"
Oompa stammered and looked at Shroobz who was chuckling softly to himself. "But-uh-But it's Shroobz!" Dino shook his head "No, if you pitched a fit about my ace ass not wanting to kiss Oof then you shall suffer." By now, everyone who was in the other rooms came in and noticed Oompa and Shroobz under the same doorway and had joined in on telling them to get it over with.
Nadwe was sorely confused as he remained silent in Shroobz's arms, who decided he had enough and faced Oompa. "C'mon, just get it over with so we can move on." In response, Oompa kept stuttering as Shroobz rolled his eyes -I always gotta do everything.- He leaned forward and quickly kissed Oompa on the lips.
Oompa flinched back and quickly wiped off his face "ACK-! GIVE ME A WARNING NEXT TIME!"
Shroobz chuckled and walked away as Nadwe squeaked and babbled. Laff chuckled softly and looked at the others who had come in from the different rooms. He noticed Socks and Blaza chatting as he made his way over to the pair.
Blaza turned and looked at him and smiled "Hey! Glad you could make it Laff!" Laff chuckled softly as he hugged Socks "Like I would miss an event like this lads. It's Nadwe's first christmas party with everyone anyhow." The monkey man quickly smirked and elbowed him in the side "Already tryin to steal my role in Nadwe's life??" Laff scoffed and rolled his eyes "None of you's are gonna let me live it down huh?" The two shook their heads as they all chuckled.
"Oh! I had brought the gifts from Tbh with me and put them in the guest room."
Laff's expression quickly fell as he sighed softly "Let me guess, he couldn't come?"
Blaza shook his head and gestured over to Joocie who was talking with Oof, Wictoria and Woolfster over by the tree. Joocie actually looked a lot better than he was since the halloween accident. "Joocie and Honest are still on pretty rocky terms and Tb didn't want to ruin Nadwe's time by coming."
-A cheap excuse not to even try and see Joocie?- He mentally sighed to himself, -he maybe actually just keeping distance in hopes of salvaging things...- Socks scratched his head "Yeah...Blaza says that Joocie doesn't want to even think about Tbh at all...although it is clear *why*.." He smiled nervously. "At Least he was nice enough to still get gifts."
Laff nodded quietly as he quickly picked up at how tense the atmosphere got at the topic. So it was a good idea to just let the topic drop and not pick it back up. He again said how glad he was to see them both and moved over to the tree.
Wictoria glanced over and saw Laff, smiling as she turned her attention away from the others. "Laff!"
Laff walked up to her and smiled "Hey there." He quickly took her arms and pulled her close and kissed her cheek before pulling away smiling. Wictoria blushed and smiled sheepishly as she looked away. Laff smiled and let go of her arms "How is your business thriving?"
Wictoria looked back at him as behind her Woolfster and Oof were doing something really stupid involving the tree. "A little slow at the moment, not a lot of people like to have weddings during the winter and the clients who do are often out of my range of distance. As for the makeup industry, it's been going smoothly so far." She smiled a bit as she rubbed her hands "nothing as 'exciting' as all of the stuff going on before the trial."
Laff waved that off and smiled "Please, I would much rather have calm; normal moments like these instead of worrying about anyone taking my son.." He took her hand gently. "Plus, if you are ever bored, you could join any one of us for a streaming video."
Wictoria smiled warmly as she blushed softly, "I-I would like that, actually.."
Laff chuckled softly and then his eyes widened a bit when he heard a distinctive creak. He looked over at the tree as Woolfster was hanging onto the top part of the tree and Oof and Joocie quickly backed up. Oompa came over quickly "WHY ARE YOU HANGING ONTO MY TREE-"
The tree started tipping over as Laff and Oompa quickly rushed forward to catch the tree and the wolf furry that was causing the tree to fall.
Soon night fell as the majority of everyone had gone home, except for a few who decided to stay the night at Oompa's place in the big living room. Among them was Joocie, who just felt comfortable not going home tonight. The others were Wictoria, Shroobz and Laff and Nadwe, since their homes were rather far and Laff decided to keep Joocie company in case any 'unwanted' company decided to show up.
They were all sound asleep by the now dying out fireplace as Nadwe yawned, stretching as he was laying on Laff's chest. He rubbed his eyes and squeaked, waking up slowly as he looked around. Nadwe carefully rolled over and rolled off Laff's chest, falling onto the floor that wasn't that too far down as he let out a small 'oof' when he landed.
Laff didn't really wake up as he mumbled in his sleep.
Nadwe squeaked and looked over at the bottom of the tree as all of the presents that were for the people who were staying at Oompa's and all of Nadwe's gifts. He squealed quietly and crawled over to the pile of gifts and pulled himself sitting up. Nadwe babbled quietly as he picked up one of the gifts for him as he shook it, squealing softly in delight as he set it back down.
One of the ornaments got knocked off as it broke with a loud crack on the ground as Nadwe stiffened up.
Laff mumbled quietly again and rolled over, grumbling softly but didn't wake up.
Nadwe relaxed with a small squeak as he kept looking through the presents. He noticed a small box in the back of the pile and reached over, pulling it over as he looked at it. It was a small, sturdy box that was around a third of Nadwe's size. He looked at the tag that had the 'To' and 'From' on it.
"To: Joocie
From: Tbh"
Nadwe blinked as he turned the box around, babbling softly to himself as he thought of what could be inside. He then began to think what would have followed if Joocie did receive whatever gift this is. How it would either be good or bad for everyone in turn and what would happen if Joocie never receives this.
He looked up and stared ahead for a while before looking to the side at the open and still going fireplace. "..."

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
8 107Delve
Truth hides behind action. Delve. A word with many meanings. It may refer to an abyss, a dark place of no return or may also be a refuge, a haven of retreat from the harshness of the outside. None of those are right to me. For me, to delve is to seek the truth. Delving into that dark abyss and coming back with answers. To leave that safe refuge and suffer the pain of the outside just because it is real. This is the story of me delving deep into the truths of the universe. Suffering things that should not be suffered in search of things that should not be known. Once a common man, drowned in the same questions that have plagued humanity since the beginning of times, now I have found my answers. Now I have meaning. Delve, and you shall have yours as well. Jack is a regular citizen of modern society: he works on an office, uses public transport every day, receives a meager salary, and drowns his frustrations with entertainment and alcohol. Maybe, the only thing that sets him apart from many others, is his unique outlook on life. Despite feeling an unfillable void in his soul and suffering from deep depression, he still sees as his duty to be a functional, exemplary member of society. All in order to prove his life-goal point: no matter how good you are, life is still shit. This point-of-view, however, will be challenged by circumstances as a mysterious encounter with a weirdly dressed man takes him to a strange and dark cave. In this place, he will have to fight for his life against fantastical creatures from fiction, and more importantly, get face to face with his own nature. In doing so, he will uncover secrets about the cave that will change both him and all he ever thought to be true.

Going on tilt is like falling in love: both make you foolish and should be avoided at all costs. *BROOKEI hate Dean Hollis.I tell myself that every day. And some days, I almost believe it. Some days, I sell myself on at least a solid dislike of who he is and what he stands for.Like his stupid charming smile. His stupid sculpted forearms. And his stupid addictive cologne that leaves me light in the head and weak in the knees. He's a vintage blend of infuriating and intoxicating, all in one deceptively handsome bottle.Let's not forget his notoriety for emotional hit-and-runs. Dean is a bad decision just waiting to happen. I would know.Been there, done that... Literally.*DEANI remember the first time I saw Brooke Maccabe. My first thought was, holy shit. That's the hottest girl I've ever seen. I was trying to think of a good pickup line when she walked up to our door and gave Brendan a hug.My next thought was, fuck my life. Because that dime? She was my best friend's baby sister. And she was sixteen.Verboten. Off-limits. The Demilitarized Zone. She may as well have had a blinking red neon sign over her head that read, 'Look but don't touch: Violation punishable by death'.Problem is, I really wanted to touch. And the even bigger problem is, nine years later, I did.*18+ for explicit adult content
