"Okay! All the single ladies move out onto the floor. . . It's time for the

bride to throw her bouquet!" the DJ announces. Christina squeals

and grabs my arm. I look over at Tobias and he motions for me to walk

over to the dance floor. I stand between Marlene, Shauna, and Lynn.

"Are you ready?" Christina yells. A series of yeses reply and I can hear

her giggles. She covers her eyes and then throws the bouquet behind

her. All of the girls start jumping for it. It sails over their heads

and for a few seconds, I see the glint of something shiny in it.

Then, it comes closer and before I know it, I've caught it in my

arms.

"Yes, Tris!" Shauna says. She hugs me like I am the one getting married.

I giggle and accept her hugs. Christina steps down from her chair and

over towards us. She points at the flowers in my hand and smiles.

"I guess that means that the next wedding we attend with be for Mr. and

Mrs. Four?" she asks. I roll my eyes but still giggle.

"You wish! I think Shauna or Marlene should have caught it. I would love

for one of them to finally get Uriah and Zeke to settle down," I

reply. She laughs and shakes her head.

"As long as one of the bride's maids is getting married," she says. I

laugh and shake my head before walking back over to the long table

set up for us. Since I was the maid of honor, I am right next to

Christina. Tobias is right next to me and Lucas is next to Tobias

since he was the ring bearer.

"Mommy! You won!" Lucas says. I giggle and shake my head. He reaches for

the flowers and I hand them to him. He pokes at one that is about the

same shade of pink as my dress. I sit so that I am underneath

Tobias's arm. He looks down at me and smiles.

"Do you want to dance?" he asks. I smile at and shrug.

"Why not?" I answer. He stands up and takes my hand. He leads me out

onto the dance floor and we automatically assume the position we have

always danced in: my arms around his neck and his hands around my

back. We begin to sway to the music.

"This is a beautiful reception," I say. He nods. Christina has been

planning this since the day after Will proposed, which was Christmas.

Now, here in June, she really does have her perfect fairy tale

wedding. The wedding itself was in a gazebo behind a large, Victorian

house outside of town. After all the pictures were taken, we were

directed to a canopy.

Inside, tables were set up with white table cloths, beautiful china, and

light blue placements and napkins. On one side of the dance floor,

there was a stage where a DJ was set up. Next to the stage there is a

long line where refreshments would be served until dinner was ready.

Across from the stage, is where the head table is.

"I don't think Christina is disappointed," Tobias says. I laugh and

shake my head. My eyes move over to the happy couple. They sit at the

head table, staring into each others' eyes.

"They look happy," I comment. He nods but doesn't reply. After that song,

an even slower one comes on. I lay my head on Tobias's chest, happy

to be so close to him. After that song, he leads me back over to the

table. Lucas walks over to me once I've sat down and crawls up on my

lap.

"Mommy, I found something," he says. I arch my eyebrows together, curious

as to what he found.

"What is it? Did you get up and go bother Mrs. Harrison?" I ask. He

shakes his head and digs through the flowers a little before finding

the right one and looking back at me.

"No, I found this," he says. He turns the flowers so I can see what he

is looking at. When I finally see it, I pull out the flower. It's the

one right in the middle. It's the only blue flower in the

arrangement, a large contrast from the other pink, red, and white

ones. I found it strange that she wanted it in there but she insisted

that it was her 'something blue.'

The flower being blue wasn't the strange thing, though. Around the stem

of it is a beautiful ring, one of the prettiest I've ever seen. The

band is silver with several small, white gems in the band on both

sides of the diamond. The diamond itself is a large, white one. This

isn't just a small ring that you get for your sixteenth birthday.

This is an engagement ring.

I turn to Christina. "Why was this in your bouquet?" I ask her. She

smiles and nods behind me. I scrunch my eyebrows together before

turning around. When I do, I gasp.

Tobias is on his knee and taking my hands before I can do anything else. As

I take in the ring and his position, I realize what is happening and

it feels like all the air in the tent has been sucked out.

"Beatrice Prior, I have loved you since the beginning of senior year and I

never stopped. Being able to spend this last year with you and Lucas

has been a blessing," he says. He takes the flower and the ring

from my hand. He puts the flower on the table but holds the ring up.

"Will you marry me?" he asks. I gasp again even though I knew it was

happening. I take a deep breath before nodding.

"I will," I say. He shoots up, pulling me with him. He slides the ring

on my finger and then wraps his arm around me. I feel a few tears

fall down my cheeks.

"I love you, Tris," he whispers in my ear.

"I love you, too, Tobias," I whisper back. We stay that way for a

couple more minutes. When we're finally about to pull apart, I stop

him. "You know, you're supposed to spend at least one month's

salary on the ring," I tell him. He chuckles and nods.

"I know. I guess I just haven't gotten what I usually make," he

comments. I laugh before turning to the others to show off the ring.
