《Limestone Creek》•NINETEEN•

I'm finishing the last touches of my outfit as I hear my phone go off, I look at the screen I see I have a message from Logan. I open it up and it reads: Aye, I'm outside.

"Eli!" I yell from my room and immediately hear footsteps running towards my room.

The door opens as Eli runs in and says "Yea mama?"

"Your dad's here to pick you up. You ready?" I ask as I walk over to him steering him out of the room.

He nods his head vigorously as we walk down the stairs heading to the front door. I open the door and Logan walks in wearing all black.

She smiles at me as she says "I'm just going to take him to the arcade again since he loved it so much. When should we be back?"

"Around eight. It's a school night." I say as I turn to Eli saying "Be good okay. Don't give your dad any problems."

He nods his head before he runs over to Logan grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the house as she flashes me a smile. When their outside I walk over to the door waving at them before shutting the door and checking the time. It's 4:43 pm now so I grab my keys and head out myself so I'll have time to look for Ash's house.

As I'm pulling out of the driveway I put her address into the GPS so I can easily find it. It's not that far and it only takes me twelve minutes to get there. I'm looking at the huge gate in front of her house and I'm scared to drive up to it. Eventually I pull up towards it and it automatically opens up for me.

I drive through and park next to her car before getting out and walking up to the front door of her house. I hesitantly knock on the door and I don't wait long before it swings open. There stands Ash dressed in a orange shirt, white pants, and orange nikes. She smiles at me as her eyes take in my outfit then come up to my face.

I smile up at her as I say "Hey."

"Hey." she says as she steps aside and motions for me to come in.

I walk through the door and stop turning around to face Ash who is shutting the door. She looks at me as she raises her hand scratching the back of her neck as she says "Um you're a little early the foods not ready just yet but in the meantime we could head to my room."

"Alright." I say as she takes the lead and starts walking.

She holds open a door for me and I grab onto her hand as we walk down the stairs into the dark abyss. Once we reach the bottom I feel Ash's hands grip my waist as she steps around me and the lights flash on. I sigh in relief as she asks "Better?"

I nod my head as I take a look around the basement which actually looks like a small house itself. There's a living room that I can see clearly and a kitchen that's partially hidden. I look back at her as I ask "Is this all yours?"

She nods her head as she says "Yea the whole basement. My room itself though is over here."

She pulls my hand as she leads me around the corner to a door and opens it up. I see a big bed in the middle of the room, a open closet, dress and another closed door. I walk in and head to her bed taking a seat on it as I ask "What's in there?"

She looks where I'm pointing at and says "That's my bathroom."

She gracefully walks over to the bed and takes a seat down next to me. We just sit there neither of us saying anything until she asks "Who took you home, when you left school?"

"Uh Logan but I'm not exactly sure how we got home." I say as I turn and look at her.

She doesn't say anything just nods her head as she stares into my eyes. Her body starts to lean towards mine until we hear a voice call out "Dinner is ready."

I jump away and hide the blush on my cheeks as I stand walking towards her door. I open the door about to walk out before I hear my name being called. I turn just as Ash says "Ah just a heads up my parents are weird."

I laugh as I ask "How weird?"

She scratches the back of her neck a she mutters "Weird enough."

We walk up the stairs with her taking the lead seeing as I don't know where I'm going. We walk into what I'm guessing is the dining room because of the massive table. I instantly feel nervous as I see a man sitting at the table. He looks exactly like Ash and I'm pretty sure he's where she got all her genes from.

He glances up as we enter and I feel Ash's hand steer me to my seat. She pulls my seat out for me before going to her seat across from me. I see her dad give her a small nod as if approval of her actions. I'm staring at my hands which are intertwined in my lap as I hear "Gabriela?"

"Hm?" I say as my head snaps up looking in between Ash and her dad.

"What brung you to Limestone Creek?" her dad asks as he gives me a smile.

"Um I was just having some family troubles." I tell him quietly as I look at Ash, who gives me an encouraging smile.

"What kind of family problems?" he asks as he looks from me to Ash.

"Dad..." she groans out as she buries her head behind her hand.

"It's alright. I was just having troubles with my mom, so I moved in with my sister." I explain a little more as I look over at him.

"And how are your studies?" he asks as he looks towards Ash before saying more "This one could use a tutor."

"I get good grades dad." she mutters as her head comes from behind her hand.

"B's and C's are not what I would call good grades." he says as he glances over at Ash before looking back over at me.

"Um I skipped a grade. My freshman year actually." I say as I answer and see Ash looking at me as if I've sprouted another head.

Her dad opens his mouth to say something but is cut off by Ash asking "So how old are you?"

"Seventeen." I say but continue on "I would have been an eighteen year old senior."

"Like me." she says as she gives me a smile.

"Yea like you." I say just as I see a women come from the kitchen carrying a big pot.

She sets it in the middle of the table before turning to me and asking "Will you help me in the kitchen?"

I nod my head slowly as I go to stand up only to hear "I'll help you ma."

She looks over at Ash before saying "I didn't ask you Ash. Gabriela's got it."

I hear Ash sigh before I follow her mother out of the room. We walk into the kitchen and she points to a bowl filled with salad and I go over picking it up. As I watch her open the stove and pull out garlic bread I can't help to feel nervous about being alone with her. Once she gets the bread out she turns the stove off and looks at the golden colored bread.

She doesn't make a move to go back to the dining room but instead looks over at me as she says "My daughter has made some mistakes but she's on the way to correcting them. If you give her time to."

My cheeks heat up as I realize she wants to talk about Ash and me. I open my mouth but close it as she continues "I know there's another but at least let her try."

"I um see ah I'll try." I finally stammer out as I turn my gaze downward.

I hear her footsteps and look up to see her walking out of the kitchen. I hurry up after her making sure to grab the salad bowl with me. As I walk back into the dinning room I see all eyes look up at me. I place the bowl behind the big pot as I take my seat again.

Once I'm seated we start passing the bowls around one at a time till everyone has each item on our plate. I'm lifting my fork to my mouth as I begin to eat and I see everyone else doing the same. As we eat I hear her dad ask me "So what do you plan on doing after school?"

"I um I'm not really sure." I stutter out as I lift my fork full of spaghetti to my mouth.

"Why's that?" her mom asks as she places her fork down.

I finish swallowing the food in my mouth before I say "I just have other responsibilities."

"Such as?" her dad asks as he looks from me to Ash.

"Dad stop." Ash says as she groans and swallow the food in her mouth.

"I'm just making conversation Ash." he says with a grunt before looking back over at me.

I look down at my plate as I think about how I should mention Elijah. I take a glance at Ash and see her staring at me intently as if she could read my mind with just one glance. I turn my gaze over to her parents as I say "I um have to ah look after my son."

Ash whips her head in her parents direction after I finish my sentence. As I look at them I can't tell what they're feeling. Her dad's face is blank as he looks from me to Ash but her mother's face is a mix of confusion and joy.

"How-w old is h-he?" her mother finally stutters out as she looks over at my direction with a dazed like expression.

"He's four. He'll be five in a few months." I say as I give her a small smile.

"Well that's just.....wonderful. I hope I'll get to meet him sometime." she says as she goes back to eating her food.

I glance in her dad's direction and he still has a blank look across his face. I go back to eating my food and everything goes quiet as everyone eats not saying anything. It stays this way for the rest of dinner with the only exception being when her mom ask me to help bring in dessert.

Ash escorts me to the front door after dinner and opens the door for me. As I go to walk out she lightly grabs my wrist as she pulls me back into her. She looks down at me as she says "I'm still picking you up tomorrow?"

"Um yea." I say with a nod of my head looking up at her.

Her hands come up to my cheeks as she brings her face down. My eyes close as I wait for her lips to touch mine. It seems like an eternity before I feel her soft lips on mine making my knees weak. It's a slow kiss with no tongue but it still leaves me in a daze as she releases my lips with a smile.

She sighs as she whispers "You have no idea how long I've waited for that."

I blush as I turn my head downward looking away from her gaze. Her hand drops to my chin as she lifts my gaze up making me look into her eyes as she whispers "See you tomorrow."

She brings her lips down again giving me a peck on the lips before releasing me. I take a step back off of the porch as I gaze at her until the door shuts. I make my way to my car in a daze trying not to think about her lips on mine.

It's about five after eight as I pull up to Teddy's house with a sleeping little man in my car. I'm knocking on the door, well more like kicking it because little man is in my arms, waiting for someone to answer. It flies open and I'm looking at Amber, just as I was about to kick it once more.

"Logan." she says as she moves aside so I can walk into the house.

I walk in immediately heading to little man's room to put him in his bed. Entering his room I see it's still just as clean as we left it on Saturday. I pull back his Finn and Jake covers as I set him in his bed. He moves around before going still so I pull the covers up to his armpits, with his arms sticking out.

I bend down giving him a kiss on the forehead before pulling back and gazing at him. I'm about to turn and leave the room when his small hand grabs mine keeping me in place. Looking down I can see his eyes are open just a little as he looks up at me.

"Daddy?" he whispers up at me in a dreamy state.

"Yea little man?" I say as I take a seat on the edge of his bed.

"Will I see you tomorrow?" he asks as he fully opens his eyes.

"Yea I'll be here. Get some rest." I say as I kiss his forehead again and his eyes close.

I leave his room going downstairs where I see Amber waiting for me. She looks up when I enter the living room and I take a seat on the couch as she says "Gabriela will make her own decisions but Elijah is just a child."

"What do you mean?" I ask slightly confused and missing the point.

"Meaning he won't understand why you stopped coming around. He'll feel abandon if you were to just stop appearing in his life." she says as she looks down at her hands "Now I don't know what your intention is but please don't hurt him that way."

"I'm not going anywhere. Even if me and Gabriela don't work out I'll still be here for him. No matter what he's my son." I tell her as I get what she's saying to me.

She doesn't respond just gives me a nod as she gets up asking "You can let yourself out right?"

"Yea. I have some bags I need to bring in then I'll be gone." I say as I head to the front door going to my car.

As I'm shutting the door to my car I turn and see Teddy's car pulling up into the driveway. I shut my door with my hand that's not gripping the bag of things I got little man today. When her car pulls to a stop I walk over as she gets out and I can already smell Ash's scent all over her.

She smiles when she sees me but all I can really think about is Ash's scent on her. She shuts her door before turning back to me as I drop the bag on the ground and cage her against the car with my arms. I see her face turn to one of surprise just before my lips come down to hers, pulling her into a kiss.

Her hands go to my stomach as mine cup both sides of her face deepening the kiss. After a few more seconds I pull back to gaze at her eyes as I say "Hi."

She doesn't say anything but reaches up and brings her lips to mine in a soft and sweet kiss. I lay my forehead on hers as I breathed in and out unneeded air telling her "The bags are little man's. I'll see you at school tomorrow."

I release her after pecking her lips one last time and heading to my car, happy that she no longer smells just of Ash.
