Ryder wasted no time in connecting their lips again, hungrily kissing her while she tried to keep up.
She held onto his shoulders tightly, nerves building in her stomach.
She squeezed her eyes shut as Ryder trailed his lips down to her jaw, when suddenly there was a knock on the door.
Kristin jolted, her nervousness making her jumpy.
Ryder chuckled, watching her try to catch her breath with an amused expression.
"Not funny," she flicked his nose, making his scowl at her as she slid off of his lap.
Ryder tried pulling her back but she slipped out of his hold.
"Come in," she called, taking a step away from Ryder and smoothing down her black skirt.
Ethan popped his head in the room, "Alpha, Luna," he nodded.
"We're busy," Ryder replied, waving him out before he could get a chance to talk.
"No we aren't," Kristin eyed him, making him roll his eyes.
"Uh... I was just going to let you know, Andrew and his team found a lead on the rogues whereabouts."
"They did?" Kristin widened her eyes, glancing at Ryder, who now seemed more interested.
"Yes, it isn't much, but he said they found their trace in Knightly, about two towns over."
"Good," Ryder said, standing up, "Tell him to keep tracking them, and make sure we know if they start heading back this way. The Luna Celebration is tomorrow and I don't want them getting any ideas."
"We are preparing for the worst," Kristin replied, "We'll be ready if they decide to show up."
Ryder nodded, his gaze lingering on her. More specifically, her neck.
"If anything changes, let us know. Thanks Ethan," she nodded, letting him leave them.
As soon as he closed the door behind him, Ryder walked over, putting his hands on her waist and pulling her towards him.
"Did you even hear what Ethan said," she teased, giving him a pointed look.
Ryder smirked, replying by kissing her neck.
"Ryder," she stopped him from going any further.
"Please tell me you didn't change your mind already," he groaned, pulling away.
She laughed, making him raise a brow.
"No, I haven't. I just think maybe we should do this at home. So no one interrupts us again and I have to mentally prepare myself all over again—"

Before she was finished Ryder was already dragging her out the door and down the stairs.
"Ryder!" she couldn't help but laugh, "You're going to pull my arm off."
He only slowed down the tiniest bit, "Do you want me to carry you?"
"No, I want you to slow down!"
"Not going to happen. This is what you get for making me wait so long."
In record time they were walking through the door to their house, Kristin slowly made her way to the couch much to Ryder's fast pace.
"Okay, there has to be rules," she began, covering up her neck.
"Rules? You've got to be kidding me," Ryder scrunched his nose, sitting beside her.
"Number one, you can't do it unexpectedly, you have to warn me first."
"Okay," he chuckled.
"This isn't funny, it's going to hurt," she gave him a flat look.
"The pain doesn't last long," he reassured her.
"Ryder," she pinched the bridge of her nose, "You're a werewolf. We have very different sensitivities to pain."
"It's okay," he grabbed her, placing her on his lap, "I'll take care of you."
She smiled at his seriousness, looking into his darkening eyes.
"Okay," she exhaled a sigh, pulling the hem of her shirt down.
"You might want to take that off."
"What?" she replied, confused.
"Your shirt, you're going to stain it if you keep it on," he said matter-of-factly.
Kristin narrowed her eyes at him, watching him try to look sincere.
"Fine, if you want blood all over it—"
"Okay, I'll take it off, just shut up," she interrupted, untucking her shirt from her skirt and pulling it off.
Her face quickly reddened, as she was straddling Ryder in only her bra now.
"Hey!" she snapped at him, "My neck is right here," she pointed to it so he would stop looking at the rest of her.
"Right," he said distractedly, smirking up at her.
She could literally feel her cheeks burning from embarrassment.
"Okay, you need to relax," Ryder placed his hands on either side of her face so she'd look at him.
"I'm trying!"
"Come here," he smirked, kissing her so she would melt into him.
Admittedly, kissing him definitely helped calm her, but she still knew what was coming.

Ryder was going to mark her.
He was really going to do it.
He was literally going to bite her neck.
"You do know what you're doing, right?" she hesitated, breaking the kiss.
"Please just lie and say you do even if you don't," she quickly added before he could reply.
"Kristin," he chuckled, kissing her again, "I promise everything will be okay."
"Okay," she closed her eyes, hungrily kissing him back so she would forget her worries.
His hands were moving up and down on her sides, leaving tingles on her bare skin.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, for once she allowed herself to let go with him. She let all of her guards down, trying to let him help her relax.
They were both breathing hard at the end of the kiss, but she kept going, continuing to move her lips against his.
She moaned when he sucked on her bottom lip, pulling him closer to her.
Her eyes remained closed as she felt the sensations of his lips brush down across her jaw, slowly trailing down her neck.
His hands slid down to her thighs, roughly squeezing as his teeth grazed her skin.
Kristin's gasp turned into a yell when she felt Ryder's sharp teeth pierce through her skin.
A sharp pain shot through her body and she felt her neck start to throb as Ryder slowly pulled away, his eyes inspecting his work.
Kristin finally opened her eyes, staring at the smudge of blood on the edge of Ryder's mouth.
She instinctively brought her hand up to touch her neck, knowing she was gushing blood.
"No, don't," Ryder said softly, grabbing her wrist before she could touch her skin.
She whimpered, feeling wet tears run down her cheeks. She could feel her pulse and hear the pounding in her ears, but the pain was slowly dulling.
She tried to distract herself by looking into his eyes. They were almost the darkest she had ever seen them, matching his dark lashes.
She felt his hand below her collarbone and looked down to see him wiping a trail of blood from running down her chest.
"How's the pain now?" he asked, looking up at her.
"It's getting better," she replied, looking at his hand with her blood.
She had lost more than she expected, but she could feel that it had stopped bleeding finally.
He got up, carrying her to the bathroom.
"I can still walk," she said as he picked her up.
"You're light headed from losing blood," he continued carrying her.
Carefully setting her down on the counter beside the sink, he got ran a cloth under water and gently held it to her neck.
She winced at the contact, shutting her eyes.
"Sorry," he said, concerned, "Does it still hurt bad?"
"No, it's okay," she turned to look at her reflection in the mirror.
There she was, sitting in her bra with a bloody neck. Only werewolves.
Once Ryder had wiped the blood off her skin, his wandering eyes started to make her feel self conscious again.
She pulled a towel off of the shelf and covered herself, giving him a pointed look.
"Kristin," he shook his head with a smile, "We're mates."
"That doesn't mean I feel comfortable without a shirt on. Unlike you," she rolled her eyes.
"I don't mind," he shrugged.
"You don't mind what?""
"You not wearing a shirt."
"Ryder Ambroz, I need to know your middle name so I can scold you!"
"It's Damien," he smirked, moving to stand in between her legs.
"Ryder Damien Ambroz," Kristin said aloud, getting distracted by his hand pulling the towel down to look at her mark.
"It doesn't hurt anymore, does it?" He asked, making sure it was healing correctly.
Kristin shook her head, looking in the mirror again at the red teeth marks.
She didn't feel different, but at the same time something inside of her felt different. She was now marked by Ryder. By her mate.
She looked back up at Ryder, seeing him watching her face closely.
"Tell me what you're thinking," he asked.
"I'm thinking that..." she put her finger on her chin to look like she was in deep thought, "I deserve to watch my favorite movie now."
Ryder chuckled, giving her a weird look as she slid off the counter.
She tossed the towel at him before walking upstairs to find different clothes.
For once that night, Ryder didn't complain about watching the movie with Kristin.

Redshirt: The Journey
Freedom and Order. Peace and War. Love and Hate. Hundreds of young children awaken in a damaged world, on the brink of societal collapse, witnessing the birth of an omnipotent system. Their roles are pre-determined, yet the very fabric of reality lie in their hands. The order of the world shapes them, just how they are free to shape the world in their disparate visions. Each choice, each action, each word, has consequences that reach far beyond their perception. Freedom or Order; ashes in the wind, or the gilded chains. Updates at least every Monday, Thursday, and every other Sarturday, (from 26/11/2021). This is primarily a story exploring what it means to be human, using a lens of a hopefully real-feeling fantasy world. This story is not a power fantasy or a traditional Litrpg , while it has elements of these genres, it will focus on how these tropes would influence real people and possibly Redshirt will break some of these tropes along the way. There will be a variety of different characters and perspectives, some you hate, some you love, and some that will frustrate. Just as all people do. I don't believe there will be anything overly traumatic or explicit, but it's better to be safe than sorry. There will be some heavy topics explored, the characters views do not reflect the authors; however, if there is an issue in how I present/understand these issues please do tell me, and I will try my best to rectify it.
