"I'm not apologizing anymore," he gave her a flat look, turning his attention back to his laptop.

She moved in front of him, standing between his legs.

He tore his gaze from the laptop and looked up at her again.

"I know what you're doing and it's not going to work," although he ran his eyes down her body.

She raised a brow, moving to sit on his lap, straddling him.

Where in the hell had she gotten this confidence? She wasn't sure.

All she knew was that she was now sitting on Ryder's lap, and he wasn't attempting to move her.

He actually brought his hands to her thighs, still giving her a suspicious look.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning closer.

From this view, she watched with fascination as his blue eyes swirled with black. His dark lashes blinking at her.

She was so focused on his eyes that she was caught off guard when he leaned in to kiss her.

His lips brushed hers, igniting little balls of electricity exploding inside of her.

She pulled back before he could completely distract her, and triumphantly smirked as he growled at her.

"If you want me to apologize, that's not going to happen," he snapped, looking back to her lips.

She leaned forward only to quickly pull away when he tried kissing her again.

She felt his hands tighten around her thighs.

"You won't let me kiss you until I apologize?" he rolled his eyes at her.

She nodded, grinning at his frustration.

After finding his willpower, Ryder brought his hands to her waist, picking her up off of him.

"I'm not that easy," he smirked, turning away to his laptop again.

Kristin raised her eyebrows, walking out of his office.

Dang.

This was harder than she thought. Why couldn't he just give in? She had to come up with a better plan.

After another couple of hours, Kristin hadn't thought of a plan.

She had called Allison and talked to her for almost an hour, she had aimlessly watched a random movie that was on, and she even found something to make dinner in his kitchen.

Only for her, of course.

She started getting antsy when six o'clock rolled around. Ryder had been shut up in his office for the last three hours straight. He didn't even come down to eat. Well, he did have a fridge in his office but still.

Kristin was going crazy from boredness and decided to go upstairs and find something else to distract her with.

She walked into a large workout room, weight machines and treadmills galore.

She pictured Ryder in here, working out. He probably could lift a lot, seeing that his muscles were pretty prominent.

Kristin shook her head, snapping herself out of her day dream.

Moving to the next room, she found a game room, filled with foosball, air hockey, and pool tables, what she thought was an Xbox, and a small kitchenette.

Because apparently the kitchen downstairs was too far of a walk.

She walked back to his room, the shelf of trophies in a corner catching her eye.

She looked through them, reading the various titles and seeing that they were all first place.

There were races, obstacle courses, boxing matches, football, soccer, fighting...

She looked the trophy over, seeing two fighting wolves engraved in the wood.

They literally just fought each other in wolf form?

She put the trophy back in the box and looked around. The only other thing was a closet and his dresser, and she fought the urge to go through there.

Why was there an urge to be fought in the first place?

She was going crazy, spending too much time with Ryder.

She walked back downstairs, finding it empty much to her disappointment.

Her eye caught a door down the hallway and she walked over. It was the back door, leading outside.

"No way," she said to herself as she took in the biggest pool she's ever seen. It was huge and it even had a connected hot tub. She walked by the multiple diving boards, looking at a zip line that was running over the area.

Okay, Kristin was excited about this. She walked over to one of the water falls leading into the pool and stuck her hand out, letting the cool water run over her skin. She really, really, really needed to learn how to swim.

If she had extra clothes, she would totally jump in the shallow end. Sadly, all she had to swim in were her bra and underwear, since she'd never get into a pool with her jeans on.

"There you are," she heard Ryder's voice from across the pool.

"You have the biggest pool I've ever seen," Kristin's voice held some fascination.

Ryder raised a brow, "So you're talking to me again?"

"Didn't you just hear me?" she snapped, annoyed that she completely forgot about not talking.

"You like it?" he asked, confused.

"It's a little much, but yeah," she shrugged.

"You like pools, but you can't swim," he said slowly, trying to make sense of her.

"Just because I can't swim, doesn't mean I can't go into the water at all," she said in a 'duh' tone.

She could go where the water was up to her chest without needing to swim, it was perfectly normal.

"Do you want to swim?" he asked her, walking along the edge.

"You know what I mean," he said, rolling his eyes at her flat look.

"I don't have any change of clothes. This is why I need to go back to my house," she looked down at her apparel. His shirt was actual pretty comfy but she was ready to take the jeans off.

"I'll drive you there tomorrow," he said, standing next to her.

"Why can't I go by myself?" she asked, looking into the water.

"Because I'm a better driver," he smirked when she glared at him, "And I have to talk to your father."

"About what?" she asked, curious.

He shrugged, "Pack stuff."

She narrowed her eyes at him, wishing he would tell her more.

"Come on, let's go inside, it's getting dark out."

Kristin looked to the sun setting behind the trees. It must be getting late.

"You're afraid of the dark?" she smiled, following him inside.

"Terrified," he replied, sarcastically.

"I knew it."

Kristin walked past the living room to the front door, an idea popping into her head.

"What are you doing?" Ryder crossed his arms, watching her.

"I'm going back to my pack," she shrugged, waiting for his reaction.

"It's ten o'clock," Ryder frowned at her.

"Okay?" she moved her hand to the door knob.

"Kristin, just stay here. You'll sleep better anyways," he took a step towards her.

"Hmm, I don't know..." she smirked when he realized she was trying to annoy him.

"You're staying here," his voice left no room for argument.

However, Kristin found a tiny bit of room.

"Goodnight, Ryder," she called, opening the door and stepping outside. The sun was finally behind the trees, and it was growing dark fast. She inched her way to his car.

"Kristin," he sounded annoyed.

"You really want me to stay?" she paused, letting Ryder walk up to her.

"Yes," he rolled his eyes.

"Hmm, well," she tapped her chin, "There is something you could do."

Like apologize.

Ryder caught on and shut his eyes, his patience running thin.

Kristin turned to open his car door but he reached out and shut it, looking down at her with his dark eyes.

Kristin looked up at him with an evil smile.

"I can't believe you."

"That's not an apology," she raised her brow.

"Fine, I'll be the bigger person here," he grumbled.

"You the bigger person here," Kristin pointed up at his tall figure, grinning.

Ryder shook his head, looking behind her at the dark woods.

"Kristin..."

She stepped forward, making him look at her, "Yes, Ryder."

His eyes forcefully met her own.

"I'm sorry."

He said it pretty fast, but Kristin didn't sense any sarcasm, which surprised her.

"Sorry for what?" she asked, her grin turning into a smirk.

"For being an as*shole?" Kristin laughed at his questioning tone.

"Was that so hard?" she teased.

"Yes," he snapped.

"Well you better get used to it," she walked back into the house.

"That's it?" he asked, following her.

"What?"

"Never mind," he grumbled.

When Kristin walked into his room she turned to give him an expectant look.

He ignored her and grabbed some clothes from his dresser.

"Don't even think about it," she said when she saw him look from her to the bed.

"I can think whatever I want," he said, getting over his mood and smirking.

"You're disgusting," she shook her head, pushing him into the hallway.

"Goodnight, princess," he grinned at her as she slammed the door in his face.

Worse name yet.
